Just a day after the previous swarm (see the videos • Sonkajärvi: bee swarm ... and • Sonkajärvi: Bee swarm/... for the Lumix and the iPhone version, respectively) was removed and transported away, bees from (assumedly) elsewhere also tried to occupy exactly the same small tree.
As with the previous day's videos, I shot two videos:
1, a LOOOONG one with the iPhone 14 Pro Max to show how the swarm has grown over time and
2, a short one (based on short clips regularly shot handheld) with the Lumix S5 II (with the 28-200 at, of course, 200mm) to provide vastly superior image quality / zoomability - and, this time, also with someone to speak.
This video is the second one; the iPhone one is at • Sonkajärvi: Bee Swarm ...
Note: I didn't have the courage to approach the swarm as closely as the previous day. I had constantly been warned by two or three guard bees even at this long distance and, while I do know they'd hardly resort to biting me unless I stayed for too long, I still didn't want to take the risk. The same didn't happen yesterday - then, there were absolutely no guard bees trying to frighten away possible threats so I could video from a lot closer.
Again, it's not possible to fully integrate a 4k HLG iPhone video into a 8K SDR Lumix one. This is why I keep releasing them separately so that 1, I don't needlessly upscale the iPhone's VERY LONG (2,5 hours) 4K footage to 8K, resulting in a lot of (useless) additional storage / processing need 2, I don't end up having to touch any of the cameras' footage to make them HLG or SDR-compliant.
