Brenda is more than a 'pretty little doll'. She's an intelligent, sophisticated badass who doesn't put up with Sonny's crap. And he is positively enamoured of her and enchanted with her. And they "get" each other and work well together -- minus the crime factor. (Side Note: And let's be honest, if the actress Vanessa Marcil, hadn't left the show, it would have been a *permanent* 'Carly who?') When he talks about Carly, it's always about how she's always 'by his side' and how she's 'the mother of his kids' and that she's 'loyal' (i.e. the lap dog trait). And Sonny LITERALLY was going to KILL Carly if Olivia had died by that bullet (which turned out to be not from Sean's gun). *When he talks about Brenda, he talks about how much he LOVES her and CAN'T live without her... :-)* All things being equal, if he had to choose between Carly and Brenda, Brenda would be chosen every single time (and she would choose Sonny every single time). And you know this. ;-)

javon lambert Exactly! Usually you let your man get away with murder, literal or otherwise, when you are afraid he'll pick up and leave your a$$. If you are a confident woman who places morals and values above all else, you'll, well, place morals and values above all else. Those types of women (Brenda), want to be able to sleep at night and look themselves in the mirror knowing they didn't compromise their beliefs for a man or for anyone else.
Brenda and Sonny ending was not a surprise. Bottom line is she refuses to see Sonny for who he is, a mobster. She only fools herself into thinking he will change. Brenda's realization of the truth hurts her ego as she comes to terms with the reality that she can not change him. She tries to blame Carly for what Sonny did, but in the end, something else would have ended their relationship. The appeal of Sonny is that he is something she can not have. Jax, meanwhile is a man who can give her the stability she craves, and yet she continues to look past him.
You are aware of their relationship? Brenda has always accepted who Sonny was! She just wanted him to do better, because she knew that he could. Plus he LIED about his role in the mob after Puerto Rico and continued to even after she was shot at in the shower. Her "ego" was not hurt, her heart was. If you knew Sonny, he NEVER dealt in drugs...he HATED it, because of Stone and how messy drugs were (police, murder) He even called people that did deal in drugs.. "Rolling around in the gutter" So here Brenda is reminding him of this, and waking him up to see what he's done to another person just because he could get away with it. Carly is co-dependent and lets Sonny do whatever he wants until they aren't together then she's yelling at the top of her lungs that Sonny is bad. Carly is a hypocrite. No where in this clip did she blame Carly. She put the blame where it belonged in Sonny's court! She did say that Carly uses Sonny's kids against him, which is true! Brenda told no lies to Sonny here.. she is the only one that makes Sonny face the wrongs he does to people just because he can.. That's not right and she lets him know that.
I remember once sonny was willing to walk away from the mob for brenda by marrying her back in the 90's that is the sonny I like which it was believable but this sonny is all about being power hungry to love being in control to never really know what happiness is on being destructive and living in a world of violence to live a normal life.

Sonny will leave the mob eventually and I believe one of his sons or close friends will take over the mob and sonny will be living a Normal life with his love
King Kai no Sonny will never give his sons the mob business if you remember how he was against it while he was paralyzed in the hospital where Michael and Morgan step in for him, where he was pissed off about it and told them to never do it again or try to get in his business. Close friends doubt it since Jason is out of the mob living a normal life and the rest of Sonny's closets friends are either dead, in jail, or relocated. Sonny believes there's noway out of the mob but being dead or in jail to be out so I seriously doubt he'll ever get out of the mob if he hadn't tried already in the past to stay out to live a normal life.
Though I'm a little upset with Sonny right now, both he and Brenda are breaking my heart . The fact that they played their song at the end, just makes it that much worse. I'm gonna miss them, but I do agree they're destined to be together in the end.
I'm sorry but who didn't see this coming from the start? Everyone knew (and knows) that Brenda doesn't belong in this lifestyle. She knew who Sonny was. She knew what he did. And she CHOSE to marry him anyway. Unconditional love does and should exist. You either accept a person for who they are or you don't. She has no right to ask him to change AFTER she agreed to accept him as is. That being said, unconditional love should not negate self respect. For her the situation changed when she became a mother. She couldn't accept him anymore no matter how much she loves him and her choosing to go was the right choice for her. He keeps telling himself it's not over because they've always come back together in the past. He doesn't see that this time is different because this time SHE is the one choosing to leave. She knows she can't go back again but when you have to let go of someone you've loved so much for so long it hurts.
Now flip it! Sonny KNEW who Brenda was, he KNEW what she stood for, he KNEW her stance on morals and integrity, he KNEW she was BAD and BOUJEE, he KNEW she has HEART, he KNEW she was OUTSPOKEN and would not be SILENT, he KNEW she was PRETTY and PETTY but yet he CHOSE to marry her ANYWAY! Fact check, the two times Sonny left Brenda were also "the right reasons." The first time I think it was when she wore a wire to get info on him with a stupid notion that she could keep him from going to jail if he had confessed to her. The second time, Lily his wife, was pregnant and he didn't want to perpetuate the cycle with his kid.
Brenda always expected Sonny to be better, and he wanted to be better for her. Carly lets him run around and act like an idiot, and that's why he keeps going back to her. Brenda was, is, and always will be the love of his life.

I have to say I am very proud of Brenda. I have always not likes Sonny at all. His life is dangerous and he will always be hooked on the power and admitted he can't let that go. Jax has always deeply loved Brenda and never tried to change her. Sonny chose Carly every single time and Brenda finally got it right this time. I hope someway the writer finally give Jax and Brenda their moment.

Funny you mentioned Brenda coming back with Sonny's child, didn't she give Robin a note for Sonny to read? Did Sonny ever read that note or is it still in his desk drawer in his house? Wouldn't be crazy if she told him she was pregnant in the letter? I agree that Sonny doesn't need anymore kids but I'll make an exception if he finally has a little girl with Brenda. If/When GH ends, that's how I would like Sonny and Brenda to end.
He ripped up the letter that Brenda wrote to him that Robin personally gave to him he admitted to Brenda when she came back for GH 50 anniversary and she came to his home he told her that he never read the letter and that he ripped it up she made the choice to get engaged to jax sonny's enemy,but yet she comes to his home trying to win him back after she left him,and it's very clear that he never took her back

He would take Vanessa back any day of the week. He has reached out many times to get Vanessa to return over the years. Vanessa has said if she returned Brenda & Sonny would end up together. Here recently she has been in talks with GH writer(s) now I don't know what this means, could just be catching up. But I do feel the Sonny & Carly show is over. They are pushing Drew & Carly. I think that is who she ends up with. Mo will retire soon, and I don't doubt "Brenda" will return before Sonny takes a bow. Regardless of what the writers have done. The actors go to bat for one another and are advocates for their characters to end up together. In the end I do believe Mo will get Vanessa to return and they end up together.
