@@ediehall3583 I particularly remember one with a silver halter, criss cross straps, across her chest, leaving her midriff bare. Covered just enough to leave something to my hot, fevered little imagination(lol). Or, as they say today, sexy AF.💖🌟
A show like this would probably never work today, but OMG we could sure use it. And yes, I'm the same age as Cher and I watched just about every week. It was magical.
@@bajabl Maybe you should ask her directly, and contradict what she had said many times, she may have some Armenian ancestry but she also has Native American blood in her.
Sure do miss these old shows. I loved Sonny and Cher. Absolutely nothing on television today compares to the 70:s sitcoms, comedy hours and tv shows in general. Bring it back ASAP. I'd love to watch the reruns!
Yes its true, Cher had terrible stage fright. At first Sonny planned to record her as a solo artist but her fear got to her so he would sing with her and they became a duo.
@@PeridotLioness85 It started in the studio first after he first met her when she was 16. He could see she had potential and he was producer she was introverted and shy so he would hop in the recording booth to get her started and leave the booth for her to finish recording her singing...They realized they sung together well and that's when they became a duo. He was 28 when he met her and there relationship started..I think nowadays he would be labeled a pedophile and be locked up with his old buddy Phil Spector.
Its 2021 and I'm here enjoying the MASTERPIECE that was Sonny & Cher. I think this was a lovely and free era (sans issues that were happening). This woman has always been stunning to me but THIS was her time. The height of her visuals, vocals, and hilarity. I will show my future children these videos because the beauty of the past shouldn't be lost. My 2yr old nephew is watching with me as I type. He clapped after the song 🥰
This program is nostalgic for me , brings me back to my childhood. Sonny and Cher were a great duo, they shared a complicity with clever jokes, marvellous singing; a good entertainment variety show.
Damn…I used to watch this when I was a kid (I was 8 when this episode aired) but I didn’t realize how stunningly beautiful Cher was until I saw it 49 years later on RU-vid
Cher looks absolutely fantastic in the dress (or trousers..). And it‘s a really beautiful nose. It‘s not big. A normal, straight nose. I like her nose :)
Cher you were beautiful on the outside & you shouldn't have changed a thing. What's important is who we are on the inside. You brought light & love to people around you, I believe, and just know that rewards are laid up in heaven for those who are faithful to do so. God bless you & keep you in His care.
@@cindyrussell1581 Well today she's like 105 or something. LOL But back in the 70's she had a gorgeous body!...and the color of her complexion was bronze like. Her beautiful long dark hair was shiney. Another person who had that gorgeous body with the same like complexion, was Olympic Diver Greg Louganis.
Omg I was 11 when this went on the air....what memories this brings back!!! Always loved Cher....very talented...both of them, very talented....RIP Sonny!
I loved this show when I was little and I didn’t even understand it. The “arguing” was so much better than watching my parents argue. It kinda broke my heart when these two broke up.
I told my granddaughter that she looked like Cher and she replied, “Cher who?” When I explained to her who, she said she had never heard of her??!!😮 I was stunned!!!!
At 0:37 it shows the air date of Monday March 20, 1972. On Sunday March 19th, my wife and I saw Sonny & Cher in concert at Fort Wayne, Indiana's Memorial Coliseum, with comedian David Brenner opening. The "The Journal Gazette" newspaper later reported that it was the highest-grossing concert to date in the city's history. They introduced 17 year-old drummer Jeff Porcaro that day. Two years later, on April 21, 1974, we saw him again as a tandem drummer with Jim Hodder at our first Steely Dan concert at the U. of Toledo. Jeff had just turned 20 on April 1, 1974. He took less money than he was making with Sonny & Cher for the opportunity to tour with songwriters Walter Becker and Donald Fagen. He was so good on tour they made him the session drummer on their 1975 album "Katy Lied." Later that same year he became the session and touring drummer on Boz Scagg's Grammy-winning album "Silk Degrees" --- and all of this before the age of 22 (and before his mega-success with the band Toto).
OMG this is So AmaZing !!!! I never got to see Sonny & Cher Live . Although they came to The Coliseum to perform , I was too young to go there myself , Do you remember what they wore or what Cher wore ? Did she have the two piece lace pant ensemble or The Scarlet-The Red bugle bead crossed halter with cut-out V mid-drift ? She also had a red version of the Native American piece I was right about the year of this season. Someone on here asked what year this was.
My favorite skit was Vamp was when Cher would sing would look stunning sitting on top of a 🎹 piano singing while Sonny played the Piano and at the end of the show when they brought out Chastity Bono and held hands with her and sang I got you Babe that was the best
Cher is soooooo beautiful, then and now! HUGE FAN even though I was born in 1990, My mother brought me up on her music, her shows, concerts and all her reruns. I love this woman. But she looked so much more ethnic when she was younger than she did as she got older.
Because she remodeled her "ethnicity" under the knife shortly after this period. I loved her old face, I loved that she was different and beautiful. We're worse than ever now with the crazy surgery that goes on. Too bad.
@@FD-tu9rtagreed. Plastic surgery is ruining some beautiful people. It doesn't matter what ethnicity they are. White, black, olive skinned, surgeries/procedures are taking away from their uniqueness.
I don't want to invalidate your notalgia. But there were 5 jokes in those complete 9 minutes. I can't speak for all of the show but this way as cringey.
@@rick2340atyahoocom she still looks great and I doubt she cares on what other people think it’s her face and she can do what she wants she still looks beautiful

When I was a kid my family and I used to watch this show...I would lay on the floor with my lower torso hidden behind the love seat rubbing myself chafed raw... God I miss Sonny
Wow does this bring back memories me at 3 loving them so much Cher looked like me I finally saw a woman on TV that was dark and exotic Sonny I loved him he is a genius
