I have both. They are both pretty good speakers. Its hard for me to choose but I like the Woburn 3 better and my settings are 70% treble and Max bass. For the Sonos five I have it on true play with max bass and 40% treble. The reason I prefer the Woburn 3 is because for my birthday we had an outdoor party and we didn’t have a big speaker to put music but I took out the Woburn 3 and it was way louder that I expected and everyone was surprised on how the Woburn 3 sounded like a huge speaker because of its wide soundstage.
Sonos sounds bassier, but muddier, compressed and artificial. Maybe the Sonos if you primarily listen to dance/electronic music, but I'd take the Marshall for everything else.
I have Sonos Five but I really don’t care about it’s ugly boxy design, just doesnt look good ,I’m considering replacing it with Marshall.I also like the fact Marshall has real physical bass / treble knobs.
Marshall is a unique, charming, and interesting speaker, while the Sonos Five offers good sound quality. But you have to adjust the sound through the app.
