SONS OF APOLLO - Just Let Me Breathe (Live at the Roman Amphitheatre in Plovdiv 2018). Taken from the album "Live With The Plovdiv Psychotic Symphony", out August 30th, 2019. Order now: SOA.lnk.to/Liv...
Ron is both Singing AND playing a Dream Theater music. In a Fretless guitar. WOW! Also warms my heart watching Billy rocking the bass on Dream Theater covers!
@@einarabelc5 The way I see it, Guthrie is what "traditional" guitar playing becomes when you take it to its very limits, but Ron plays like the guitar wasn't even there. It's like he was plugging his brain straight into the amp.
@@aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa1509 it was record label push to have more ear friendly album. Although not even close to IAW, WDADU, COS or Awake, I find it veeery good and I enjoy listen to it.
Man, back then I worked at McDonalds. My manager would let me hook my Walkman up to replace the store music, so before we opened, I would blast 'Falling into Infinity' throughout the store. Serious fucking memories!
@@tonypowell250 on his Tracks sure he does but on the older material not a chance . I am a fan of his but i am very intrigued how a Drumgod like mangini can't even have finess on the Hihat especially to replicate Portnoy's parts . i loved his performance on pale blue dot definetly his best in this band so far
The Petrucci Portnoy partnership has produced some of the greatest songs we've ever known, having said that, this band can perform these songs like no other. Damn bumblefoot
Soto's voice...like others said, you can understand the lyrics. The new Dream Theater...as long as they can stick together. This band...just freaking AMAZING.
They all play as good as DT. With one difference... They perform! They are entretaining, and much more badass! And above all, Ron is a freak of nature! This guy is one of the best musicians ever! Apollo is proud of his sons for sure.
Not a DT fan (actually didn't know the song very well either) but JUST CAN'T STOP listening to this! Such AMAZING play by each and every member! What a miracle of a concert it was!! and Mixing is so well done (couldn't appreciate the true worth of the band from all the RU-vid live recordings by phones) I honestly cannot wait to see /hear the DVD!!
jeff & ron what a voice combination , love it , love dream theater too of course and falling into infinty is one of my favourites DT records, but billy derek ron jeff and mike (what a mix) , sounds A MA Z I N G !!!
1) I absolutely love this performance. 2) Does anyone knows how this works, copyrights and royalties wise? I know Derek and Mike co wrote the songs but are the other members of DT also receiving royalties for this performance since they also own the rights to this music? I'm really just curious if everyone knows about this.
i dunno why but i really love this more than the original band... perhaps Portnoy's + Derek's vibe & grooveof the original recording and the combination of Ron & Billy's perfomance are Insane! Not too forget, JSS vocal fit this song better!
I never heard the original. I heard this (cuz I like SOA) and thought "what? Did DT have a song I don't HATE?" THEN...I looked up DT's original... and it was HORRIFIC in every way. YEEEESH. Just compare Boring Petrucci's guitar solos in this tune to BUMBLEFOOT's!
Jeff is a beast.. has been one of my favourite singers since Talismã and Rockstar.. dude was almost made for Hard Rock, but he is doing a great job on Progressive music, even if hes not on the pinnacle of his voice anymore.
I love Dream Theater to death BUT this kind of energy is something that they are lacking nowadays. This was a really refreshing version of the DT sound. Not the biggest Sons of Apollo fan but this was just pure gold !
@@dumpygoodness4086 If you hate Dream Theater then you don't know good music. Being in a band is suppose to be about the music. Not just pissing around on stage, hence mostly all the subpar 80's glam metal bands.
I always thought what is my problem with Dream Theater that I don't like, now I realized that is "James LaBrie". in fact the singer, in addition to having to sing well, must also have a beautiful voice.
So lucky I had the opportunity to see those guys live in Aschaffenburg on their tour last year. Mindblowing performance. Can't await to get my hands on that BluRay. Can we expect to see a second studio album anytime soon?
Me senti um órfão após a saída de Portnoy do DT. Daí vem o SOA e ocupa aquela lugarzinho que o DT deixou. Que som maravilhoso. Eu já era fã do Jeff. É a melhor banda da atualidade. Saudações do Brasil!!!
The blu-ray is temporary out of stock already. :( if InsideOutMusic can advise when it will be available again to purchase would be greatly appreciated. thx in advance.
Way better than last years Dream Theater. Rudess spoiled the band. And then all the voice problem of Labrie. And then all the compositional crysis of Petrucci, with songs with no soul.
You have absolutely insane and technical musicians, masters of their instruments, with probably nothing left to learn. And then you have Bumblefoot, 5 or 6 levels above God.
It's always funny to see a few trolls calling Mike Portnoy a has been or something and calling SOA overrated. You guys should stop following what Portnoy does if you hate him so much, grow up. This is a brilliant version of Just Let Me Breath and let's not forget Sherinian was a huge part of this track when it was made. To call guys like Jeff Scott Soto, Bumblefoot and Billysheehan overrated or has-beens is not only arrogant but ignorant. Excellent musicianship and what a great nostalgia. Looking forward to this live disc the first SOA album was fantastic and hearing all the live stuff would be amazing.
