Many times when a "supergroup" of master musicians form a band, it doesn't always work . . . this one does. Great songs and great musicians, actually imho the best rock musicians right now; wow what a combo. I was thinking this is just the first album and they'll only get better and gel more over time; I hope they stay together and keep going because the potential is limitless. Love this band!
I met Ron in 2012 and he is sure thing one of the best guitarists on the planet. He is so humble that I can't resist myself to keep on praising him always. Good luck with this great band master Ron.
Me too. So hard to find real music nowadays. Today's music just pisses me off. Love this stuff!! Goodbye Divinity off the new album is fucken awesome too.
..yeah, that's the issue! He's so proficient that I have a tendency to gravitate toward bass players that noodle around the root note with just enough feel and funk to keep it real. Billy is a bass God. But I'd rather groove with the angels.
I'm 66 and I get so mad when people in my generation say music will never be as good as in the 70's. They just need to get out of their social media echo chambers and find stuff like this.
Soto's vocal sounds killer with this band!!!! Looking forward to the new CD and tour - definitely will be worth seeing live with a stage full of talent!!!
Chris Steberl Jeff Scott Soto been an underated heavy rock singer, I'm so glad he finally working with Major League Musicians..thanks Mike Portnoy and Derek Sherinian for putting this Great Project together!
Ron Thal is simply one of the greatest shredders of all time. I met him 15 years ago in NC when he was still playing that swiss cheese guitar. Good god was he amazing. An innovator and brilliant player. Love you man.
Ron Thal did some things in this song that blew my mind. That thing he was doing with the volume swells and tapping sounds like a keyboard (in the coolest way possible). The fret-less work was impeccable as well. What a great player! \m/
@@thegreyman4920 ritchie blackmore deep purple "Fools" solo for example, and the technique was also used in licks of other songs. deep purple was revolutionary.
Everything about this band and this song is BIG, but everything also has it's precise place and fits just right musically. This doesn't sound like another virtuoso supergroup, it sounds like a bunch of talented musicians who care more about the music than their egos... which is a BREATH OF FRESH AIR! If I didn't know who the musicians were, I'd just be like... I dig this new band. That's a good thing. I've seen so much hate going around about this project, but I LOVE it... More of THIS please!
Offcourse I know all the musicians but never listened before, since yesterday I can't stop. Amazing band. Gonna order now the first cd, live album and pre-order the new one and wanna see them in march on tour! Whoehoe!
@@darkangel-ve8pn Sherinian was with Dream Theater on the Change of Seasons EP and Falling into Infinity. He's also been in other groups I can't remember offhand.
@@darkangel-ve8pn dont worry I feel the same lol. soto is from yngwie malmsteen days. sheehan is from vai. I dont know much about ron thal but I guess he was with gnr for a little bit lol
AWESOME! I felt like I was invited to a very special recording of the BEST musicians of each instrument, getting it done in ONE SHOT! So MUCH talent in one room it's outrageous!
That kicked ass and I can;t believe that this has been around for a couple of months! Feeling very lucky to have new music by a band that is very worthy of being described as a SuperGroup!
My goodness, Jeff Scott Soto still never ceases to amaze. Is there anything this man cannot do? I think this line-up has absolutely nailed this sound, something fresh yet tipping their hat to so many influences. Music comes first here, they are all so talented and yet nobody seems to dominate the whole thing, the very best of everything we have grown to love over the years...so awesome to have something so refreshing to listen to. Awesome!!!!
Ihr seid definitiv(!) die beste Band des aktuellen Universums! Wehe Ihr löst Euch wieder auf! Ich freue mich auf Live- Konzerte in Germany nach dieser "Pandemie", ich zähl auf Euch!
My most anticipated release in YEARS. Lineup is perfect and Soto is so underrated. The different personalities have an ebb and flow and not just a wank fest . Much respect...can't wait to see you dudes live ! Those Sherinian patches are just pure magic. 🤘🏿
This song keeps on ringing in my head every day!!!! Man , I just love this band soo much. incredible music \m/ I really can't wait to hear more new stuff \m/ keep on rockin SOA...
Yea awesome stuff! I wonder why they mixed him so low in the verse & chorus though. Those keyboard parts in intro & bridge are awesome, but he could get even more space :D
Nice to see that over the top lead keyboard work that he perfected with Planet X back. Love his playing in Black Country Communion, but it is definitely more subdued. Also love the analog synths.
That bass/guitar run down in the begining was clean. Dynamics and the composition of the arrangement. All top notch. Super talented band. Not a weak link in this act.
Double neck bass, double neck guitar, double keyboard, double drums(you can make more than 2 drumsets from Protnoy's drum set) but where is the double mic?
So much freaking talent in this band, but there's something about Sheehan being in it that makes me think it wouldn't "work" nearly as well with anyone else. Not due to talent, but just something about his presence. He's legendary and it's awesome seeing him laying down some heavy tracks
Me agrada el sonido de la banda, la ruta melódica, la parte rítmica con el bajo bien amarrado a la batería y la voz potente que cierra el marco. Soy fan desde ahora. Saludos from Chiapas.
Does not even sound like a "supergroup". It's just a band with very talented musicians that have a fantastic alchemy together. A true band, not just a bunch of famous musicians playing at the same time.
This is massive. Totaly love it. For prog. metal this is up there with the best every released. Hope people appreciate it and we will see lots more of this band.
Wanna hear a beautiful song where everyone -including the fretless bass- gets a solo? "Omnipresent perception" by Beyond Creation. Some fantastic guitar, and bass, work in there.
