The death fight concept is kinda neat. Imagine if the fight got harder every time, with a loss there being a permanent game over. It would really add a tension to the general combat.
"Oh, I'm slaughtering villagers now. Is my cause really all that righteous if I'm over here murdering villagers?" Five second later... "We're pillaging! We seem to be doing the viking thing right now so that's good!" Well, that was a quick descent into evil.
I'd think what does it say about the combat goddess of Hel if she lost handedly to a man that was killed because he sucked arrow from a peasant because he forgot he was holding a shield...
I was actually following the artist even without knowing about the mechanics. If you like traditional pixel art this game really has some gorgeus lighting and animation!
I assume, based on what I know about Kingdom New Lands, that you need to move the gate to your land outwards, which looked like an option, and then that extends your land.
What I saw from his demo is that upgrading the meadhall extends your gates and adds building slots. Capturing the town, denoted by a small diamond has it passively produce income, however it's quite hard/costly to hold as the enemy will constantly pass through it to assault your camp. You then use the income, either by holding the towns, or upgrading your own fisher/woodcutter to build an army to assault the enemy camp in the middle of the map, denoted by a red triangle. That camp become your new staging ground, and also secures the previous town against further attacks. Then you fight over another town, and the main enemy keep at the far side of the map.
I absolutely want this to be a 3v3 Co-Op PvP game. Fighting and building towards the center. There's a stable economy in the form of the supply ship, and upgrading of the main base. You'd fight creeps in the early game, and against the opponent's NPCS later in the game. Seems like a perfect tug-of-war until you claim their flag. MOBA simplified.
I love your vocabulary of words. Proclivity is a nice word that I rarely hear, then shortly after you stated steakies are what you want to eat lol. Love your videos and your humor.
@@aidanhodgemusic9270 I meant thematically. There is no reason for it to be a shipwreck with them being the only survivors if it’s glossed over so quickly, it would be better if your character hit his head or something and the old man was just checking you’re ok.
I don't know if this is a high mark or a low mark for this game, but watching Splatercat play this game, made me want to play Ratropolis again. I'm sure this one is fun too, because it looks fun.
I like the similarity with kingdoms and I like even more that this doesn't go exactly in the same direction. With a bigger focus on action and the tug of war, the game stands out and offers an interesting original experience.
Game looks cool. No horned helmets (at least I didn't notice any) - that's a big plus. As a fan of norse mythology and by extension vikings I really hate when people horns on their helmets.
So every War and revel, go to the feasting-hall And there you'll find a Viking-lord named Sigurd standing tall and giving thanks to Odin for the pledge kept after all Singing, "Yo ho, Welcome to Valhalla!" For we have made our own Valhalla For we are the builders of Valhalla -Valhalla, Leslie Fish
"Do i have to re-fight you every time I get died because I assure you given my proclivity for being bad at video games, I am definitely going to die a lot!" 🤣
I've seen this game in another video so I had it on list on steam, but I did not know kickstarter campaign had started. Backed it rn, looks amazing and the early pledge is only 12€!
Hey i watch all your vids splat and i love them. I was just wondering if you could mention if any of the games you play are on playstation aswell as thats what i play on. SOME of them are! Keep up the good work!
Lo, there do I see my father, Lo, there do I see my mother, And my sisters and my brothers. Lo, there do I see the line of my ancestors Back to the beginning, Lo, they do call to me They bid me take my place among them In the halls of Valhalla Where the brave may live forever...
I have a dilemma, "We are the only two to survive."... then... "I sent word for help."....WHAT?????????....guess am to overlook this inconsistency...lol
"let it never be said that war is not without it's profits" There are so many negatives in that sentence that I lost track but I'm pretty sure it means the opposite of what you meant
I check this channel sometimes to find good games, but i have a general rule about not buying early access games... so it would be really helpfull mister splatterCat if you but the word Early Access or EA in the title of the thumnail
Amazing how popular vikings got all of a sudden. In nearly every story the norsemen were the villains of literally everything they were involved in. Maybe that's a part of what makes them interesting.
To say they were villans is incorrect. They just like many dynasties were just trying to conquer land and riches for their people. They had to raid often due to their land lacking in ground that was farmable. I think people are more into them because they were known as fearsome fighters. Just like people love spartans.
Reminds me a bit of Regions of Ruin. That game looks like ass, while this is gorgeous, but Regions of Ruin has a fun gameplay with decent amount of depth (mainly the map traveling related to the camp building), I hope this will have enough content and variety.
Splat you are possible the worst gamer on RU-vid (still find you quite entertaining!). You totally missed the fact, your supposed to move the gate up as you take territory. Oh you also missed the other three pages of the upgrade tree!
