As a PX owner I want to see a video comparison between PX & PX7 especially the sound quality comparison because the frequency had increased up to 30k in PX7
I LOVED the sound of the B&W P7 (original, wired) headphones, but couldn't keep them because the clamping force was just too tight. With the PX7s, it looks like they may have slightly improved things, but it still seems to be a common complaint. I'll buy B&W if they ever get around to making their headphones more comfortable, because the sound was just that good.
i do not own the PX7....yet... but i have owned previous generations of B&W and i believe you when you talk about their sound stage reproduction. one does not even need an equalizer app to tune anything more.
I own both, and the PX7 has better battery life by far...not sure what's going on in this video. I'll also say hands down the PX7 sounds way better, especially if you pair them with an APTX device running Viper4android eq. What a combo! I don't have a wide head, and while I agree that the Sony seems to be a tiny bit more comfortable, I also found that the sony headphones are too loose and feel like they could fall off. I have (at times) a bit of an afro for hair, and the extra clamping force of the PX7 are welcomed. If you're on a budget, get Sony's....but if you want your MUSIC to sound the way it's meant to sound, try out the PX7 with ANC off. DAMN!
Great comparison. Build quality is really important to me because of drop proof. I once accidentally knocked over my Sony headphones and they fell on a carpeted floor but still managed to smash into pieces because the plastic hinges that enable internal rotation are so delicate. That extra cash spent on the build quality with B & W can be money saving long term for this reason.

I went to the Apple store and they said they've never heard more feedback than from my Marshall major 2 headphones believe it or not the bass on the 700s have nothing on the marshalls!!
But what is the point of listening to music on the PX7 with NC turned off? They are ANC headphones. That feature should be used and shouldn’t affect the music quality. I feel, at the end of the day it’s either Sony or Bose. Nothing else
For my ears the noise cancelling degradation is minuscule. I don't hear that much degradation from my PX7s. With ANC turned on they still sound better than the Sony WH-1000xm3 I own. I would recommend trying out a pair owned by a friend or on display in a store before dismissing or buying them.
How on earth can it be Sony or Bose? Its Sony and Sennheisers at this point, the PCX 550 2 are the closest to beating Sony and other than that there is no competition, Sony destroys Boss easily.
The only complaint about B&W PX7 is clamping force which is the real bummer. I am not sure I am the only one, I just need those ear-cups to sit on my ears than over my ears. Ears seem to have less nerves than the head area around my ears.
Might not matter to most buyers, but the B&W seems to be the only one at its price point that doesn’t have much exposed plastic parts and thus looks expensive. The older gen B&Ws looked better on the head though.
*Sound quality is very subjective, BUT:* Everyone keeps talking about that they miss an EQ on the B&W app. However, I think it's a good thing there isn't an EQ. This way B&W show they are not insecure about how they're shaping sound with the PX7. In my opinion, the PX7 has a fantastic balanced sound with the best soundstage of all other headphones. The Sony XM3/4 is also a really great headphone with good sound, but I feel Sony is not very sure of how their headphones should sound, hence the EQ in their app. Of course you can then customize how you want the XM3/4 to sound, but I feel the XM3/4 still sounds a little predictable. It sounds good, don't get me wrong, but it feels like I've heard this sound before. To me, the XM3/4 sounds a little flat and compressed, but still with good sound quality. Therefore it's more fun for me to listen to the PX7, because there is a lot more going on in terms of sound staging, instrument separation, imaging and dynamics. Of course sound quality interpretation differs for each person, but this is what I found.
Hey man would appreciate it if you answered my question, I have the Sony 1000xm3 but returning them because my ears get very hot with them after 20-30 minutes, you reviewing a lot of headphones what headphones can you recommend for someone like me money is not the issue
Thanks for the test. I have returned to the shop Sony 1000XM3 as for me they have to much bass, low wide soundstage. Nothing special except ANC what I really don't need. They sound OK but same sound quality I have experienced in low-end Sony models back in '90 I mean models CD250/350/370. CD550 and 750/770 are waaaaay much better. I regret I sold Sennheiser HD650 they eats that Sony. I'm curious of B&W PX5 model.
You sound like me, I love the sound of my original B&W PX, but the comfort is not all that good. Still use them everyday because of the sound. I wonder if there is a difference in sound between PX and PX7
@@MrBravo143 thanks for the info, that's the main thing I like about the PX is the vocals. There are times that I wouldn't mind more lows and just a bit more highs, but I guess that would just make it pointless to own the PX.
Hey how you doin? I’m looking to buy one of these two for my set up which is Samsung 75 inch tv with Samsung sound bar q90r. The headphones would of course be hooked via Bluetooth to the soundbar. Music is one thing and watching movies is another. In your expert opinion which of these two would be good for me? I’ve been using the wireless sennheiser till now but since I got this new tv which doesn’t have a 3.5mm jack and neither does the soundbar, I have to get new headphones. Please advise. Thanks
I have the PX7 and I enjoy it. Which would you pick for sound quality? PX7 or Sennheiser Momentum 3?...bass and volume which one.. im also interested in Momentum 3.. Thank you
buddahlushious I got the ne PXC550 ii right now. I’m satisfied with these. Good noise cancelling but not like the xm3’s but i think the sound quality is better than the xm3’s in my opinion.
Ozan Berk Kovancı merhaba. Hocam ne onerirsin. 1000mx3 px7 momentum3 vs. Bu klasmanda veya baskada onerebilirsin. Cok arastirdim artik kafam yandi 2 aydir alamiyorum. En azindan ilgilisin denemissin sanirim. Butcemmax 4 bin civari. Kablosuz. Tesekkur ederim
@@TheGamingAudiophile Thanks for replying. I'm torn between these and the Sonys since I like the look of these better and the fact that these can connect to 2 devices simultaneously. Also these pause automatically when you take them off so there's that too. Not too sure if BT 4.2 vs 5.0 makes much of a difference though. Your video on the PX7s was the first one I watched btw
Hey man jw could u review the braven ready elite it's about a year ould and tell me the review and what u think if u could Ionly trust ur opinion man much aprreacite
LOL, yeah a lot of people are waiting on the XM4's. Just my luck, I'll grab another brand and Sony will pick that exact time to release the XM4. :( Latest rumored time frame is Friday 4th September at Sony’s IFA press conference.
I want the Sennheiser Momentum 3 with the Sony Battery and Noise Cancelling. Would be literally the perfect headphones. B&W gets the build and battery right but lacks in Sound and Anc performance because the sound suffers. So close but better sound> better battery and anc >better anc but with sound lose
I want the Sony 1000xm3 to sound like the Sennheisers and then we would have the ultimate headphone. Sony is more comfortable and much lighter than the sennheisers.
Upgrade that shit for sure. The 1000xm3s are the most amazing tech I've ever used and I went from the s5 to the note 9. I use them all day long, they are too comfortable and there is absolutely no background noise it's like being in a black hole. I can charge them for a half hour at 0 % and they will say fully charged even though it's a lie but even so they last forever and ever. They sound better than all the other headphones on display at Bestbuy that's for sure. I would immediately buy another pair right now if I accidentally broke these. I would never forgive myself if I owned the xm2 right now while the xm3s are killing the competition. They didn't release the xm4 because the xm3s are just too damn good and still on top.
I think Momentum 3 because they have AptX which is a higher codec for more defined CD like sound. They both sound good tbh but the headphone has a bigger soundstage. I can't really tell because I don't know exactly but it's what i read 🤷🏻♂️
Does anyone know if the Sony's still have the problem with cold weather? It's the only thing keeping me from purchasing them because I dont wanna purchase them and not use them because of weather.. Please let me know if you have any info bout this!
I went to the Apple store and they said they've never heard more feedback than from my Marshall major 2 headphones believe it or not the bass on the 700s have nothing on the marshalls!!
everybody says the sonys are so great, they aren't. when i tested them out the pads touch my ears on the edges and the sound quality without drastically boosting highs and cutting lows sounds horrible
Pro Tip: The Sony WH-1000XM3s can actually pair to more than 1 device by simply holding down the power button for like 7 seconds to turn on the Bluetooth pairing settings again and connect to another device. The Sonys can pair up to a maximum of 8 devices
No beats if you love music... never buy beats trust me in this price range there are many and many headphones better than beats you should just go and listen and you will understand what im talking about
@@elijahfluw4347 i didnt get them, but i tested them both. personally, i prioritise sound quality when it comes to deciding headphones. in the end, i chose the b&w px5 because its cheaper and the sound quality is still amazing
Tbh the px7 sound so so. They are not great sounding. The bass is boxy and not of great quality. Details are lacking and they appear somewhat dark. The momentum 3 are the best sounding.
@@h1a8 thanks, also which device did you use it with Android, iPhone, computer? Because the px7 have a higher codec just making sure if it makes a difference if im purchasing one of those two.
@@alexsmith1207 I have both iPhone and Android (sounds better on the iPhone though). I use apple music. Codecs don't make any noticeable difference other than lag for videos. It's how they tuned the px7. There is too much mid bass. And the frequency between 2-6kHz is greatly scooped out. This makes them sound really dark in
Sound crap the songs well over rated. Surprised how highly people are rating headphones. Sq is low compared to older stuff. New kids dont know sound quality.
