So I own an A7 III and an A7R IV and am looking to get into video. I've been throwing the FX 6, FX 3, and A7S III into a boxing match in my head and couldn't really decide which to buy because so many of the reviewers who are "filmmakers" aren't shooting actual professional content. I think that, tbh, this video appeared in my timeline at the right time here on youtube. I'm sold. I'm buying the FX 6.
So, is Sony calling it "dual base ISO" now, and does the high gain not lose any dynamic range to the low gain? I thought Sony was shying away from calling it dual base because the dynamic range takes a slight hit when using the higher gain setting.
Also object tracking via touch, like on the A7SIII and using an usb-c dongle to get audio without the handle. These should hopefully be some rather easy firmware fixes.
Hi Heath, thank you for this video. I have had my FX6 for about a week now. I love what I'm getting visually. However, I can't seem to get an audio, whatever setting I use. There is something that I'm missing. I was wondering if you had any suggestions as to what the problem might be, or where to source support. Look forward to more. Regards Trevor
with that lense( looks like a zoom, 24-70 ? ) how DO i aadjust the aperture, and can I do aperture pulling during filming ? or I have to dive and fumble around int hte meny ?
Almost all of those are available on my Pana S1 for a fraction of the price. Mxf, i dont need, and to install another program just to see the footage it is not so pro, at least for me. Oh and my S1 can be used for photo too.
If there would be a "a7siii x" that is exactly like the fx6 but in the smaller body i would buy that too. i already have a a7siii and preordered the fx6 but if there would be two identical cameras one small one bigger with more connections it would be a a-/b- camera setup like never before ... right now both are close enough for that too but the better they are matched the better for me :D
I am pretty sure you are giving a wrong information : 12 800 ISO has not the same grains as 800 ISO. It has way more grains. At least this is what I have noticed on the A7SIII. I doubt it has the same dynamic range, too.
Hi there. I have asked that question to lot of people here, in RU-vid, nobody gave me an answer. The question I have is very important for me to make a decision, and the question is: as far as the FX6 has only XLR mic inputs, could be possible to get normal sound switching Lav mic system, such as Rode Wireless Go with an XLR to 3.5 jack adapter? Have anyone tried it? If yes ' which result? If not - why? Hope somebody will give the answer. Thanks in advance.
you said one thing wrong, when you use shuttle angle, and you change frame rates your angle does not change automatically, it stays at the angle you set it at. your shutter SPEED will change automatically. like film, the cameras automatically SPED up how fast the shutter was spinning when the frame rate was higher so that each frame could be exposed through the shutter angle. so basically, when set to angle, your shutter speed will change automatically corresponding with your frame rate. please bring this to the fx3/a7sIII, we are dying!
