18-135mm would probably be the best choice but it is quite expensive.

what about the 55-210 from sony?

Thank you, It is very similar to A6500, but it has front facing screen, no IBIS and some improvements over A6500.

I much prefer mirrorless cameras like the A6500.

I would say no, A6000 is still better than M50 in some aspects, it is not worth switching in my opinion.

Yes, I still recommend A6300 over M50. Sony and Sigma make very good APS-C primes and 16-50mm kit lens is similar to canons kit lens, so you should be able to find suitable native E-mount lenses.

I much prefer A6300 over 800D. 18-135mm F3.5-5.6 is the best all-round lens.

I would go with the sony 6300, a very solid camera and better construction . I've the m50 but not too impressed with it

@@rickky2008 yeah the M50 is a mch more consumer type of camera

Sony is definitely better in low light especially if you use 4K because it uses all of the pixels to shoot 4K video and noise is finer. M50 has rotatable screen which may be useful for a vlogging. Sigma 16mm F1.4 would be the best lens for that, but it is probably out of the budget.

A6500 if you can do without rotating screen.

M50 is a little 80d

Dp review made a video comparing Fujifilm XT100, Canon EOS M50 and the Sony A6000... Wich is a 4 years old camera... They could have choose the A6300 instead...

Ayush Bajaj it depends by what are you filming... I ve never had seriously heating problems because i only record short clips but sometimes the camera isn't really fast when you turn it on/off so you have to wait some seconds, other times you have to remove the battery and put it back inside and then it work properly (i'm not sure if it's just my problem or a camera problem). After all the quality of the camera for this price is amazing, i really love it even when i use the 16-50 kit lens (that's not the best lens for this camera). For 700-800 euros it's a best buy camera with an amazing 4k... It's a problem if you want to record only in full hd because the full hd files of a6000 or a5100 are 100times better and i don't why, anyway you can record 4k and downsize the files in post production to an amazing full hd. The problem of recording 4k outside is that when you press the record button the screen brightness goes at the minimum and there's no way to increase the brightness, the only thing you can do is to use an external display or the viewfinder because in the sunny days you ain't see anything. These are the biggest broblems i've encountered but after all for the right price is an amazing camera. Sorry for my bad English and i hope i've been helpful

I said that Sony 1080p video is sharper, the difference is pretty clear, there isn't so much difference in stills, but Sony is still better.

The Hybrid Shooter Oh, seems I misunderstood. How about dynamic range of stills between the two, mainly in JPEG’s? I have a Sony A58 and wish to move to mirrorless.

DR is significantly better on Sony.

Probably the M50, because it has mic jack and better controls.

Depends or what focal length you prefer, you might need both. I don't particularly recommend either... or A6600.

Yes, but this is an older video and there are better alternatives nowadays.

As far as I know, the A6600 is more than $1500 by itself.

Yes, 4K looks a bit better than 1080p from other manufacturers, but the 1080p really looks like 720p.

@@TheHybridShooter I think the only thing good about the M50 is really the fully articulated LCD :( If only Sony, or Fuji implement a fully articulated LCD on their cameras :( I guess I just have to wait... By the way, is the 4K video of the Lumix G7 much better? What about the AF in 4K video of the G7? Is it the same as the contrast AF of the M50, or it is a little bit better? I know in 1080p it is worst, because of Canon's dual pixel AF... Thanks, and keep up with the excelent work :)

The user interface on M50 is also quite good. I have never used G7, but the 4K video will be better and basically everything beats M50 autofocus in 4K video.

It is not a bad camera unless you want to record 4K. Sony A6300 is technically better, but M50 is generally suitable for your needs and it also has rotating screen.

No, it technically shoots 4K, but basically the worse 4K of all cameras.

Thank you for sharing your experiences, unfortunately my experiences with canon cameras are very different. I just miss the DR, IBIS and proper 4K, so Canon has nothing to offer to me.

@@cooloox Yes, I am talking about photography as well. That depends on what you consider "adequate", it seems like your requirements are a lot lower than mine. Nevertheless, Sony has much better DR and good stabilization will always enable you to use lower shutter speed and ISO, regardless of how steady are your hands, so that is not an excuse for sub-par DR and not having IBIS. BTW 7 of your comments have been automatically flagged as SPAM, so 1 comment is generally enough to express that you don't agree.

@@TheHybridShooter I think some Canon lovers forget that this is an video to thrash Canon. Honestly not. I started my photography career as Nikon passionate guy then switched to Canon for wedding photography and now I mostly use Sony. Still I use all 3 brands depending upon the needs. For example when I need image sharpness, I use d750 or 850, Sony regularly in star hotels low light situations. Much helpful for video as well as log features, RU-vid videos. Lastly Canon I use for wedding photography. I likeYour review and it is very much honest. Thank you for this wonderful clear speech video 😊

G85 is definitely a valid alternative. The AF-C in G9 and GH5S is now very good bit.ly/G9Firmware, G85 and above (G9, GH5, GHS) use magnesium frame as well.

I unfortunately don't have Nikon D5600 anymore, I much prefer mirrorless cameras like A6500.

M50 and 200D are the same, 60D is worse in terms of image quality.

I generally recommend both A6300 and A6500 over M50 unless you need front facing screen. If user experience is important to you, Panasonic GX9 and G85 / G80 are probably the best options.

I still use my a6000 for almost everything. The ONLY problem I have with it is the inaccurate auto focus in low light and back-lit situations. It's the difference between a fantastic shot and an unusable shot. Luckily, it doesn't happen that frequently. Check my flickr account with the name Issa Mousa.

I have never had any issues with overheating on my A6500 at all, not even in tropical areas. I have talked about that in previous videos.

Really? :O And how long did you shoot for without stopping? I mean how many minutes? I'm genuinely curious. I have the A7III which is a great camera and I want to buy a cheaper B camera but I'm too afraid to buy a A6300/6500 because of the overheating issues.

I usually don't shoot clips longer than 5 minutes.

+Martin N Since I'm interested in Sony A6300 I read a lot of guides from A6300 owners and it's possible to overcome overheating issue. Relatively easy and quite effective: 1. Use high end cards which don't warm up a lot when operating in A6300/A6500 speed range 2. Turn off screen as often as possible and move it away from the body 3. Buy and use SmallRig cage According to other owners experiences these should improve recording time a lot before shutting down due to overheating. You can also disassemble A6300 and apply thermal pad. There's full video on RU-vid with all of the steps. It's risky but it helps a lot. I also read on Reddit that you can wrap camera in non-dark plastic fiber sheet or at least apply it on hot spots, that should help a lot on direct sunlight because dark color is absorbing a lot of heat from the light compared to lighter colors.

Autofocus of both M50 and A6300 are worlds better than G85. Just depends how important that feature is

Yuri I reckon Sony and Canon autofocus are super fast. Panasonic depends heavily on the lens used. In my experience with my favorites Oly 45mm and 60mm it’s super fast and accurate. For a fraction of the price of Sony 6500 it’s a very (I mean VERY) capable camera paired with the praised m43 system. I would go for Sony by the time of my purchase, but couldn’t be happier after a few months using it

G85 has poor autofocus only 4K video, in 1080p it is definitely usable. M50 autofocus in 4K video is much worse than on G85, because it doesn't use dual-pixel in 4K video.

If you do that, camera will ignore your settings and use fully automatic mode.

Because mirrorless has many advantages over DSLR besides the size.

M50 for sure, A6000 is too old and have issues with auto focus. M50 is a better built (Made in Japan).

M50 may be made in Japan, but it feels really cheap, A6000 has better build quality.
