Sony a6600 | Is it THE BEST APS-C Mirrorless Camera?

Not having the 30 min record limit really is very helpful. I sometimes use my a6600 to film my peers at grad school doing presentations, and it’s not uncommon for those to go slightly over 30 mins. It’s great to not have to find a time midway to restart recording

Does this camera film in 120fps outside of the S&Q function? I need 120fps but with the capability of playing it at normal speed and with sound

I made the switch from Canon to the Sony a6400 when I decided to do live streaming a long with making cook videos. Can't beat the clean HDMI for live streaming and only 1 time my Sony overheated since I got it and that was user error.

I bought the a6600 in December 2019 during a B and H promotion but never had a chance to use it during a trip until several days ago. I previously had the sony a6000 and loved the camera for travel. Ok, so when I came home, looked at the images on my macbook 15 inch screen, I was very, very impressed. The quality of the images is clearly better than the images from the A6000. I think, as well, that IBIS is helping with the clarity. I miss PANORAMA and pop up flash modes, available through the a6400, but wanted the latest software inside for image quality. Again, I do recommend this camera for its image quality.

You should definitely make a video on the fuji xt4.

As a professional photographer and videographer I just purchased the Sony a 66000. This is by far the most impressive APS see camera I have ever used for video and photography. I have always preferred Sony cameras because Video has never been a strong suit for the competition Canon and Nikon mainly. They were great for photography but not so much video. Sony has always had a huge background in video production mainly with their studios Sony pictures and it shows anytime I pick up one of their cameras. Sony cameras are the only one I would ever pick up and use for video as well as photography and be satisfied. That’s not to say they are perfect but it’s about as close as we are going to get without spending crazy amounts of money on professional cinematic gear and having to have multiple cameras one for video and one for photo. This is just how I feel from one professional to another

I JUST bought one...I love it! It's like a mini A7iii. Maybe even better in some instances. I was literally one click from buying the bmpcc4k but decided to so a bit more research. I think that camera just has too many cons for my line of work, the a6600 just fits so much better!

Yeah, I really like the 18-135. I don't use zoom lenses often, but I was impressed with the quality to value ratio, so it's perfect for my needs.

It is a great camera I use it to film most of my videos on my channel. And the colors are great straight out of the standard profile. A have lenses are the Sigma 16, 30, 56mm f1.4. It’s also the most complete portable hybrid camera out there due to the limitless recording, flip up screen, mic and headphone input. And a beast of a photo camera!

I was so tempted to upgrade my A6300 for this new camera. However, for the similar price of an A6600, I got the Canon M50, plus the Sony 18-135 and the Sigma 16mm f1.4 lenses :) So I've just ordered them instead, and will have to get the A6600 another day. Keep up the good work Gene, as I really enjoy the style of your Chanel :)

I use the Sony a6300, been using it for the past 2 years and it's still perfect for my usage.

Great review✌️ bought the 6600 a month ago and, yes very satisfying camera. The battery life and time limit recording was the deal breaker.

Just exchanged my A6300 for A6400 just recently and have filmed a few things off a USB battery pack. It's been great so far and the Samyang 12mm f2 with clear image zoom makes for a good combo.

Not certain it’s been mentioned but have a look at the X-T4.

if a Sony a6700 ever comes out that fixes the rolling shutter and has 4k 60 fps i'll definitely sell my a6600 in a heart beat to get it.

The A6600 is definitely a great option with that large battery. Hopefully other camera companies follow suit. I did try it out, but didn't have enough time to get a really solid grasp of how well it works in practice. My only concern I had was the slow sensor readout, but that's the same for all of their current APS-C. The 4K can look pretty wobbly if not careful about it. I'd actually love an A6400 for a dedicated sit-down talking setup. The 13 hour and 1 minute recording limit would be great! (lol, thanks for finding that out. I'm going to assume it's the same for all of their current "no limit" cameras). Hopefully Canon keeps investing into EF-M by making an M5 mark II with IBIS and a larger battery. We will see.

It was the best until x-t4 :) and like x-t4 it is so expensive you start thinking if FF not will be better :D so i think SONY really should think about their prices, because everything is too expensive compare to rest.

Recently picked up the A6600 with the Tamron 17-28mm F/2.8. Great combo along with the SmallRig cage and the Rode Wireless Go. Also, I'm using Cody Blue's Custom Cine4 profile which I prefer over both SLOG and HLG.
