@@carlosguerrerogonzalez6097 it’s all a preference. If your a Sony shooter and have the A7s3 then the a74 might not be worth it. If your a photo and video shooter the a74 is great with the higher megapixels. If your a canon shooter the same thing applies. It’s really just preference in my opinion.

Okay!! Now I know that I’ll be getting the A74 as soon as I can upgrade. Comparatively, I’d spend as much or less with a Canon R6 setup. Little to no distortion on these images and I’m blown away! So glad I found these real estate videos showcasing the the A74 can’t be blasted now. Find the right lens and you have yourself a winner!! 😍 📸 🏡 🙌🏻
Thanks for the comment. Its really just shooting in 60 fps and on a gimbal, that's it man. Occasional warp stabilizer in premiere if needed but that's it.
Agree with previous comment, you seem to be the only person demonstrating A7iv in real estate with Laowa 9mm lens choice. I just bought the body but then thought I made big mistake because of crop but I I think I’ll return the Laowa 12 and get the 9 and follow your example.
I would agree with that move if your dead set in shooting 4k. I have the 12 also, but i don't use it anymore. I actually like the image out of the 9mm better! Only thing the 12 has over it is the slight vignetting you get shooting the 9mm wide open. But it doesnt bother me at all because it is such an easy fix in editing.
@@brianphelps2506 found it. So you shoot with the 9mm & APS-C mode off on A7iv. If we lived closer, I’d ask to come shadow your workflow for a few days.
@@madenluvdesign No you dont change anything on the camera. When you go to 4k60 it puts the camera into crop mode on its own. If you use the 9mm in full frame mode in 4k30 for example, you will see black vignetting around your image. You would have to put it into crop mode to get rid of it. I only use the 9mm in 4k60 video, thats it. I use other lens in 4k40 or 24. But you can do it just have to put the camera into crop mode. I programmed one of my back buttons for crop mode so i can go in and out when needed to gain extra reach. hope i explained that ok.

Thanks David. It all depends on what your doing i guess. If its real estate your shooting video for, then I like the laowa 9mm zero D. Its a tad wider, sharp as heck, light, and IS 2.8! I personally want that wider aperature vs the sony 10-18 F4. Can get more light inside darker homes and not have to pump the iso as much. It is a manual lens, but for wide walkthrough, i like that. Set it and forget it. IF your not doing real estate and just a personal use case, the 10-18 might be better cause you have more range and option. Hope this helps.

Hey man, thanks for the comment. Glad you are enjoying my videos, I will get back to doing some more. Yes, I am still happy with the A74. I will upgrade down the line when I see fit. I would love to get an A7S4 if it ever came out but who knows. But I still love the camera!
I am so close to pulling the trigger on buying this camera, but then saw a video saying that the A7IV is really bad in low light, and also has a 1.5x crop for video, but great for photos. Do you experience any problems with it, and if so im thinking it could be fixed in post? Thank you! -Isaac
@@EagleEyeOptics thanks for the comment. I’m a photographer first and video second. This camera meets my need perfectly. Crop isn’t ideal, but with the 9mm laowa I get around that. I have pushed this camera pretty high in the iso and I have no complaints. If your strictly video, then a7s3 is your camera. It if your both, this is so hard to beat for the price. I also shoot all my video in slog3.
Thanks for the comment! I never used that lens before, so I have no first hand use. But for the a74 shooting video in 4k60 i personally would stick with the 9mm. I am shooting at 2.8 almost always inside homes to get the most light. I believe the 10-18 is a 4.5 to 5.6 . If your shooting a74 in full frame like 4k30 or 1080p60 I’d go with the laowa 12mm zero D 2.8. 12 is very wide and you got the 2.8. A lot of interiors are very dark and at 2.8 your still cranking the iso up a lot. Hope this helps.
I shoot in Slog3. I use nd filters outside, I usually don’t need them inside unless I’m doing detail shots wide open. Thanks for commenting. Enjoy your A74!
Hello. White balance i set manually by each room depending on the light color using kelvin setting. Exposure is the same. Try to keep the iso near the native iso on the A74 (800 and 3200). But i will go up to 12800 if need be inside. Outside if its bright you might need an ND filter 👍
@@robtherealtortx In all honesty I just look at my monitor that has my luts put in it. This way I can see what its going to look like after I covert the Slog3 footage in real time. But if you dont have that I would go with.... Sunlight... 5600k mixed sun and interior lights... 4000K all interior lights blue hour... 2800k That should get you in the ball park and then you can just fine tune in post.Let me know if you have any other questions and I hope I helped you a bit.

Thank you! That was on a slider with a 50mm in 4k30 . All my slider shots I do in 4k30. All my walkthrough wide angle and some details on the gimbal are shot in 4k60 and slowed down in post.any other questions just ask.

@@davidleys91 that 50 is the Sony 50 1.8 actually! Drone is the mavic air 2 shot in 4k30 and in D-cinelike color profile. I love the colors out of the Sony a74, east to match it to the Mavics color also. A74 is shot in slog3 as well.
I went looking for this lens on Amazon and I only see a crop sensor version. Is there an FE version? If it’s crop, can you explain how this works for you for realestate? Thanks!
@@TheChoofamily So yes, i am only using this lens when shooting 4k60 on the A74 because of the crop. So it gives me a 13.5mm for my wide angle walkthroughs. If i want that zero distortion lens when shooting in full frame, i also have the Laowa 12mm. I have links to both of these lens if you want to purchase in the description of this video. So as far as how it helps for real estate, i want to shoot slow mo in 4k. So with the A74 it is just giving me my ideal wide lens for walkthroughs. I also love the lens because its manual, so you just set it on infinity and go. Its also tack sharp and super light with no distortion. Does it have slight vignetting when wide open, yes, but nothing that isn't an easy fix in post. Also, the price is beyond Right! I do shoot also of 4k30 also in my real estate videos so with that, i am usually shooting with other lenses. Hope this helps and thank you for checking out the links in the description. @@TheChoofamily that’s basically infinity. The only time I adjust it is if I’m doing a closer shot. But basic walkthrough any room infinity is what you want.
@@TheChoofamily also, always have your peaking on so you see the focus. I also always use a monitor so I can monitor the video with my lut I plan to use on it.
Video is sick! I recently got the Sony A7vi and I have a sigma 24-70 that I love. Starting to get into the real estate scene and need something wide for both photo and video, and also keeping in mind the crop at 4K 60. This lens looks like a good option for video but it wouldn’t be good for photos? Lmk if you have any suggestions! Thanks.
Thanks man. I wouldnt use it for photos. You have to shoot it in crop mode unless you have the black edges on the photos. If you want a manual lens then look at the Laowa 12mm its a great lens. For my wide angle shots i love to be at 14mm or so. That Tamron will get you to a 16.5mm equivalent (in crop mode) its to tight for me. Laowa 9mm gets me to 13.5mm. I also love that the laowa gives you zero distortion. Thats a big part to me using that lens for real estate. You like the Tamron?
@@brianphelps2506 yeah for vlogging and stu its great, maybe for real esae video, i would have to buy he 14 gm, bu than for full res i have o shoo in 8k 30p bu i love so much 60p,, bu currenly isn any camea that isnt over a kilo and does 4k 60p with oversampleling in full frame mode, though in apsc, laowa 9 would be ok, bu i like auofocus lenses only , and again here isn any tha is under f4 and under in widh of he amon as fa as i know, ive been eying with the gh6 but that mico fo hid fo real esae in low light fo poessional wok, reall isnt enough, psc is he minimum in my opnion, but i love so much the gh6 6k 60p and 4k oversampling even in 120p, which non full fam camera does as fa as i know, jus line skipping and binning and suff, no oversampling unfosunaely...
@@k.o.t.o.n. Yea for me i dont really care about 8k or anything like that right now. Most people deliver 1080p for all real estate content and thats what agents expect. I edit and deliver 4k videos and im loving my work flow doing it. I love auto focus lenses also, i use the 24-70 GMII a lot in my real estate work also. But for walk through type shots you don't want it in autofocus, you want it in manual. So easy just setting the focus on infinity and having no worries. I also have the 12mm Laowa zero d lens that i use on full frame if i need a ultra wide angle. All the cameras today are great, just pick the one that suites your work best. Good luck!
Hello and thanks for the comment. No I dont shoot with an ND inside. I will shoot with one outside though. Shooting slog 3 on the A74 my base iso is 800. so I need to cut the light down. Sony does a great job with retaining some detail through the windows. Any other questions just ask.
@@brianphelps2506 I have the same sony camera but I! slog I can figure out why my windows keep blowing out even on iso 800. Should I try earlier in the day or evening time?
@@livinginbellinghamwa1 always better on cloudy day or early am or in evening. But even at 12pm in bright sunlight you should be getting some detail. Make sure interior lights are all on also. You know what helps me a lot is my monitor. Make sure to use a monitor with the lut you use in post in the monitor. This way you can see what it will look like in real time. You can really fine tune the color and exposure. I use the atomos ninja.
@@stonybrain no it actually helps out. You just set it in infinity focus and do your walkthrough. You don’t want a lens autofocusing and jumping focus as you do your shots. Even my detail shots I do with a 50, 55 or 85mm I put the lens into M focus
