Glad to see you mention the shutter sound being loud. As a compact shooter for street and travel, a loud shutter is hindrance. Yes, I know it has Silent electronic shutter, just wondering how well it will work with faster moving subjects?

Apparently, the electronic shutter is even better for fast moving subject now. Less shutter roll and up to 8000th/sec where the mechanical does 4000th/sec.

Every single A7C review mentions “single card slot” as if it’s a crime. I use Leica M series for many years and never heard anybody complain one card slot and never heard anybody experienced data loss. I also have a Sony A7RV and a A7C and never have any problem with SD card. SD card is a storage, all storage fail over time, so just buy some new cards every year or two, faster speed, bigger capacity and fail proved. Thank you for the review, have to say your video is getting more and more casual. Hope you get back to in depth review in the future. Cheers,

It's fine if you aren't getting paid for your work. If one is covering weddings and the card corrupts, the wedding party will shoot the poor photographer. 😊

If you're shooting for your pleasure, it's hardly a problem. If you're shooting for clients, then betting all your livelihood on the reliability of a single card is a big no-no. Better be safe than sorry. Most professional-grade DSLRs and Mirrorlesses have at least 2 card slots for a reason.

@@hoangsoncameralabvnif you ever get a card corrupted, that’s your fault. Been shooting for 18 years and never once had issues with using single slot. The cards in the market now are so good and it’s only the people that are irresponsible with handling that have all these corruption issues.

Look for the best lens you would ever want before you get the camera body and see if they are a good match. There are many videos on this channel and others that say the same thing, I.e. don’t put all your budget in the body! I personally got a Nikon z5 (full frame for $1000) and put zeiss and Leica lenses on it, but if you want good video and don’t need weather sealing I’d get the canon r8 with a stabilised canon pro lens

I shoot professionally and switched from the A7 IV to the A7CII and it’s perfect. Never had any issues and it never has overheated even in the most intense of sessions. It’s compact, powerful, and has more features than the A7 IV

They could have put a second Micro SD slot on it. Imagine putting a 128GB SD and a 256GB Micro in there for weddings. You wouldn't need to remove the Micro SD all day.

£2350 in the UK = not entry level price, & supposed to be a hybrid? The EVF is sh*t, LCD screen even sh*tter IMO, how can Sony of all companies not put a decent LCD screen in a camera at this price point? I doubt you'll be able to see sh*t on it, on a sunny day!! The much cheaper APS C 6700 has 4K120 & HD240 video, this only has 4K60 & HD120 presumably so it doesn't encroach on the specs of Sony's other flagship full frame cameras. I bet they could put these specs in if they wanted, and don't think you'll be getting any firmware updates that upgrade the video specs, it is highly unlikely, Sony doesn't do this. Finally the elephant in the room, the shutter noise is ridiculous, for a camera that looks like it's designed for travel. You have no chance of doing discrete street photography or getting too close to wildlife without scaring the damn things away 🤣

i don't feel this one. the now 3 year old canon R6 can do 12-20fps burst, 4k60 without crop, has 2 card slots and was a bit cheaper when released. Sony seems to hold back in recent years

The noise this camera makes is an issue in so many photographic scenarios. Street, wildlife, sport, action, events. In all cases it can be an issue. Put a better EVF in it, put the EVF in the middle & sort the loud shutter noise out then you have a full frame little gem. It's classic Sony, nearly there but messed it up!!

@@stevenqirkle That’s fine but an additional card slot is not going to add to the size or cost of the camera. Whether you would utilize it or not, dual cards slots are hugely beneficial and in my opinion are left out to funnel buyers towards more expensive cameras. I’m a big fan of Sony cameras but they can offer better value in the middle of their range.

The world is a conspiracy theory to those too dim to understand the obvious. So take it from someone who used to be an influencer in the A-list world: his take on the camera is worth far far far more than the pittance of travel costs or camera loan he got from whomever. They don't pay them, vendors rarely give anything away without it being a serious upside for them i.e. priceless review space to confirmed influencers.
