Is the specs on this camera for sony has better specs than the r6?

100%. I have A7rii and cannot wait to upgrade and see where it takes my workflow.

I would only suggest going up in megapixels and saving money

I as a small handed photographer switched to Sony due to the smaller camera size without having to compromise quality. So to be honest a bigger camera isn’t appealing to me. I too am have with my A7III and I only shoot newborns and family portraits

@@jjmm689 a7iii is still a solid buy but ultimately it comes down to if your need more megapixels and or if you’re a hybrid shooter

My dilemma is coming from the a7ii. I don't really do any video work, and other camera is a used a7s (wanted to try it for astro). I honestly barely touch by a7s and it's a backup timelapse camera for my landscape shoots. I'm trying to decide if it's worth added the a7iv to my bag instead of the a7iii (i'm going to sell the a7s eventually). I mostly do landscape/astro work. I haven't delved into portraits but it probably couldn't hurt to have the a7iv's better autofocus, it's just hard to justify the 7-800 dollar cost difference between the a7iv and a7iii.

The A9II got a shutter close feature?? I need to check that out. Gonna be picking up this IV too.

I think the a7R IV also has the option for a closing shutter after a firmware update.

They really should add it to the siii. No reason not to. Basically same body and same processor.

The 10 fps raw is in drive mode Hi+, which, concealing the present scene and displaying the prior shot, is often unusable on critical action. Shooting while viewing live, the top burst is 8 fps, drive mode Hi. Also, 10 fps raw requires a CFexpress type A card, anyway, a 160 GB costing 400 USD. But on SD card, the buffer, instead of over 800 frames, is only some 25 frames. So in effect, the camera shoots 8 fps and costs 2900 USD. For such compromises on action photo and mobility amid action video-the 4K 60fps video having a 1.5x crop factor-the 33 MP sensor is a gimmick and bad excuse.

I don’t notice a difference in skin tones on Manny’s photos in this video. I’m hoping the IV is better!….Manny what do you say?

@@JankPhotoJournalism As well as in other moments, it was certainly noticeable to me when Manny zooms in to point out the color noise in the hair for the A7III at around 8:48 . The A7III skin tones to me are much cooler and more magenta compared to other colors in the same scene. A7IV to me seems to do better here. Having shot Nikon, Fuji, Canon, and Sony I’ve often spent a little extra time editing the skin tones on my A7RIII than the others.

@@JankPhotoJournalism The images at 10:30 to me also demonstrate the improvement in colors in the overall scene as well. Most noticeable differences being in the skin and stone wall, again with the A7III having an unpleasant magenta cast.

edit : $3988. that is flagship pricing more interesting to see australia's total allocation. History shows it was not great for the A1, the first preorders are the only that was fulfilled (before this week). A7iv is also quoted for 3 months.

Using preproduction α7 IV units, Gordon Laing and Jared Polin got uncompressed raw up to 6 fps [1,2]. Polin seemingly insists to burst only uncompressed raw [2]. But the benefit is likely negligible, except to shoot fine art at rapid fire while blowing out highlights to publish the result at high magnification [3]. The main problem is that even compressed raw at 10 fps is overstated or mistaken. The 10 fps potential is of drive mode Hi+, whereby the viewfinder conceals the present scene and displays the prior shot [1,4]. For viewing live, the fastest is Hi, an 8 fps potential [1]. The α7 III, if with poorer autofocus, does all of that. But α7 IV's raw 10 fps, useful for noncritical action-mainly action staying on axis or predictable [4]-might cost 2900 USD. Writing to SD card, Laing's did 10 fps JPEG, but 8 fps raw with JPEG, and 8 fps raw alone [1]. Raw 10 fps, even with JPEG, was to CFexpress type A card [1]. The capacity 80 GB costs 200 USD, while 160 GB costs 400 USD. Sony's quiet shutters, new in 2015's 42MP α7R II, quelling camera shake, aid resolution, but 24MP α7 III's loud clunks, similar to DSLR mirror shock, seemingly return for α7 IV's 38% more pixels. The α7 IV's 33 MP are some 65% beyond its mirrorless rival, Canon R6-12 fps raw uncompressed [2]-and 2020's new flagship DSLRs, Canon 1DX III and Nikon D6. Those other cameras are some 20 MP. An α7 IV of 26.5 MP-10% beyond α7 III's 24 MP-would be 33% beyond 20 MP. Or reuse α7R III's shutter and α7 III's sensor-20% beyond 20 MP-so α7 IV's 10 fps, 25% beyond 8 fps, are steady and live view. @@NicoDa1 10 bit is nice but its dead in the water when the a7ivs biggest flaw is rolling shutter. disappointed it has rolling shutter.

@@NicoDa1 pay $1000 and get the a7siii or fx3 is pretty much the move. Kinda bummed about the a7iv though. It kills me that it has such a dumb issue lol

@@de-graftasafo-adjei4646 I decided I would buy a Sony body again if the 7iv had a decent LCD, but alas, Sony went ghetto again, so I'll stick to my Z6 and D850. I hate reviewing my shots on a super low grade display.

@@youknowwho9247 this is my dilemma, I love my nikons, but they aren't as good on the AF hit rate, not terrible, just not Sony good. So I'll just wait for the next generation of Z bodies, and by then should have everything I want. Sony is just committed to putting trash lcd's on their cameras.

That’s what I did on the Canon side. Went from the 6D Mark II, a perfectly fine, full-frame, to the R6, and it’s so worth it. So many little headaches removed.

I am still using A7RII and I get this AF system slowness man. A7R V is in the pipeline, let's see what it brings.

you just gotta ask yourself, when does the dust get on the sensor? take a photo right after a lens change, and compare it to 3 months of zoom pumpin' fun😁

This is something that Nikon is definitely doing now…

Amid life's ups and downs, 2020's ins and outs, and work injury, I've been mostly inactive since 2019. Since then, I've bought an α7R III and an α7 III, resold them before much use, and recall no dust problem. Yet in late 2018, on switching from Canon to Sony-an α7R II-I soon caught dark spots on photos and footage. My only _external_ zoom lens-a Canon standard zoom on Sigma's MC 11-was rarely used. My main zoom, an ENG, was Sony's FE PZ 28-135mm f/4. Never checking lenses for air leak _rear,_ I now, or later, will. Anyhow, dust appearance was rapid and chronic. At first, I concluded that swapping lenses outdoors-what I had expected to be fine despite the warnings and hearsay-had in fact got dust on the sensor! But abruptly, more dust would appear amid usage only indoors and a lens staying attached across days. Seeking the dust's source, finding no looseness at the lens mount, I suspected that dust already beyond it gets jostled until-. Maybe this fostered my aversion to repurposing the shutter, toughest of all to clean, as dust shield.

How prescient the Nikon prediction, fulfilled in the Z9.

Also, the swivel screen on the m4 is not a photographer’s dream.

Biggest let down of the whole release tbh

I'm guessing that 4k60 full frame would have caused the same overheating issues that the R6 has. Would be nice to have the option in the menus though - full frame that overheats or APS-C that doesn't.

@@youknowwho9247 100% I hope they release a software update to let us use uncropped for a few minutes at a time (or risk the overheating on our own account). Like if I’m doing real estate or similar and just need to grab a bunch of 5-10 second clips… 2021 this should not be a limitation

Totally true. nothing major above canon Eos r6. 5fps for raw was 17years before not now in near 2022. 4k60p way crop is not in near 2022.

@@filipemartins7802 Who cares? In 99.9% of shooting situations you won't see a difference. The remaining .1% are high end astrophotography and instances where you missed the exposure by 5 stops...

@@youknowwho9247 By that logic, shoot JPEG lol it's ridiculous that an almost 3000€ camera shoots 6fps in 2021. Whatever excuses you come up with, that's the simple fact.

I'm willing to bet the a7c has the same focus speed at $700 less

@@craigman7262 The a7C doesn't have a front dial and second card slot and the evf is horrific.
