Caught a small error in the wording but doesn't effect the settings or outcome. The 2pt gain and bias settings are tied to that source input, not the color temp selected. Advanced 20pt settings are what is tied to the color temp selected. Again doesn't effect anything other than the mistake in wording.

Hey Classic. I really like 👍 your videos and streams with Fomo and the other guys. I'm interested to learn and to do my own calibration for personal use, and perhaps in the future, I'd be able to help family and friends. What are steps to follow in other to learn the basics and what do I need to purchase ( e.g, equipment and software). Is it to technical to learn? I have 3 TVs, so I guess I can learn while I'm using my own TVs as a practice. I'd appreciate any input on this. Thank you and keep it up 💯 . Hello from Houston.

@@menacordero1 you can start with Calman home for "brand" (Sony, LG, etc) which is $145 and gives you the ability to manually calibrate any brand. Add an X-rite colorimeter for $300 and a used i1pro2 for around $400-500.

My setup is such that i probably won't be able to connect directly to the tv. It would be via the denon. Do you reccomend any of your calibrations that can be universal for cable tv and gaming? I believe native apps keep the picture settings and don't have the issue. Only when changing from Xbox, Ninetendo, cable where the settings remain the same and don't change.

Yep, same here! Xbox series X in HDMI 4, eArc HDMI 3 to my Denon where I have my blu-ray player and Apple TV 4k connected. If I watch an HD blu-ray in ‘cinema’ but then switch to The Grand Tour on Amazon which is HDR, instead of switching to ‘custom’ where my HDR calibration is, it stays in ‘cinema’ with the HDR logo in the corner of the settings menu. Can easily enough change it to ‘custom’ but wondering if there is a way for it to auto-switch to ‘custom’ for HDR and ‘cinema’ for regular HD?
@ClassyTechCalibrations
@ClassyTechCalibrations 2 года назад
@@Ryans09G8GT I think it may be an issue with Denon. When I had a Yamaha receiver it switched, but with the Denon I have now it doesn't. It is annoying I agree. DV bright looks great the after calibration report looks very good . Dolby dark looks good but the after calibration report isn’t as good as Dolby bright . The RGB balance is not as tight and the color errors are higher . How is my bright much more accurate then the dark according to the report ? Should Dolby dark be using SDR night 20 point ? Or is that just how the offset works ?

So we’re switching from expert 1 to warm and adjusting 2 points to make it look like expert 1 so that the Judd conversion isn’t done in DV dark correct? But if we don’t need any 2 point changes from expert 1 to fix white point in the first place, DV dark is fine? I’m a little confused on if DV dark is broken from the start, or only if 2 point adjustments are made to expert 1.

Sorry to get a little "off topic", but I am looking for advice/assurance: I recently bought a new SONY 55” A80J OLED TV. The majority of content I stream (movies and TV shows) no longer displays in full screen (streamed through Google Chromecast), even when I go into fullscreen from my app on my windows laptop. My new TV won’t let me use wide screen controls in picture display (it says “feature not available”, probably because I’m not going through an HDMI connection, but just using WiFi). Is there any way I can set or control the aspect ratio of the content I stream? I know the content is dependent on the original format in which it was created. I am seriously concerned about the long term possibility of OLED “screen burnout” if I continually have to watch content with two broad black lines on the top and bottom of my display.Thanks.

Its very difficult for me to differentiate between them ;( A general question regarding the settings is why are you leaving Brightness to max and luminescene to high? I often hear or read that due to burn in prevention the oled panels shouldn't be pushed to their " brightness-limits"? Am i'm missing something out? I would really appreciate your help :)

Burn ins burn ins every time you look around somebody is talking about burn ins bro stay away from those burn in seekers videos. Burn ins are not an issue it’s an issue if you are trashing abusing your TV plus it can happen to any type of TV. You can use max brightness on any settings on the Sony if you could and it wouldn’t be there.

Do these also apply to the A90J as on expert 1 custom I have a bit of green tint which is making it a little flat looking.

Hi Classy, Can you advise me for best settings for watching sport please? I'm in NZ and the best we can get from our Cable set-top box is either 720p or 1080i and everything looks pretty soft

Thanks for this it is very useful but I have one question. I noticed that for most of the profiles you left the brightness level at max but with this being an OLED TV is that okay to do due to image retention and burn in potential?

Tried these on my sony 77 inch A9G and I love them. Only thing i changed is peak luminance on medium and brightness 30 for sdr content. Max brightness and high peak luminance is too bright for me.

Is there a similar video like this one but for the Sony a80k that I can watch? My Sony a80k has yellows that look kind of green, and want to see if adjusting these settings can help with that issue.

I am assuming it will be the same. BTW do you have judders (motion issue) on your K when watching low bitrate or cable channels, also some news channels with word tickers (words scrolling across the bottom)?

@@DavidStella if you got NF watch Army of the Dead at 42:10 with the containers and let me know. That's a tough scene for panels. You might see judders. Let me know and I can give you some settings to fix that or if you don't let me know what your motionflow and cinemotion are set to.

Let’s say I adjusted Standard & Custom modes identically according to how you have for Standard mode SDR. Would both modes look the same? Is the | indicator the level that represents Auto or does Auto use the entire range? For instance it’s at 20 for Reality Creation and it’s at 65 depending on the mode selected.
@ClassyTechCalibrations
@ClassyTechCalibrations 2 года назад
The line is supposed to be the default position for that picture mode, however sometimes it is bugged and not correct (like in HDR/DV gamma setting) For the most part you can make the different picture modes look the same but reality creation does vary in it's effectiveness with different modes, and gamma can be different in different modes

@@ClassyTechCalibrations Thank you. This A80J looks amazing at 2K 60p until Xfinity brings me a box that can produce what makes this tv shine like 4K and HDR. Netflix is the best I can do for HDR, lol. I don’t game or watch dvd’s but your recommendations really dialed in an already nice picture especially the -15 Blue. Took that cold look away.

Hey classy. Thanks so much. I do have a question. How do I increase the luminance of Dolby vision dark to pop more like vivid. I love the color balance of Dolby vision but it just seems “dark” and I’d like to see a little color pop. Not sure if this is a dumb question or not.

Im wondering, is it possible to emulate the 2pt settings with the 10pt or 20pt settings, so that you can bind them to a color temperature setting rather than having them be universal for the input?

You gain brightness using the service menu settings, not with the user menu. But these settings are more accurate and can be used with Dolby Vision dark picture mode.
