So I have similiar Sony DCR-DVD202E model and I bought a batterypack, it is not original and the problem is that I put the AC cable on and it seems to charge it because the yellow-orange light is ON, but later it starts to blink slow. The camera was not in use in years. I have 2 original batterypacks with the InfoLITHIUM sings etc. but there is the same problem with both of them. They are very old so maybe thats the reason, but with the new battery that I bought now? What is the problem? I can't find any help anywhere. The thing is that the camera works good while connected to the AC charger. Then I can record, open the DVD pocket, basically all works good. Years ago the charging worked normal, I have never had the separate charger for those batterypacks. I've charger them attached to the camera and it worked good. Help.

The problem is just that. The battery pack is not genuine, or at least, the camera doesn't recognize it as such.
But what about the original one? This is strange. The original battery is very old, maybe ca. 20 years like the camera. But it should charge at least to turn the camera on even for a 1 minute and then be dead. Instead of this it happens nothing. This original is NP-FP50 I wanted a bigger one NP-FP90 and I bought on (not original) and it behaves the same as old one. The charging light blinks forever. One thing that I noticed a few minutes ago, there is a sticker on this new battery. It looks like a circle sticker with numbers around from 1 to 12 and in the center is 2006 number. So it is possible that this is a production date? I've started to think that they sold me an old battery from 2006 that could be used or just old 😐

@@Bartosz10000 Then maybe the AC adapter is no good. Try getting a dedicated battery charging dock
