I was having playback issues on my Sony TRV-310, so I took it apart by following your instructions, unplugged all the cables that I could find, cleaned the connections with rubbing alcohol, and put it all back together again, and viola the playback works great, and I can now digitize all my old home videos. Oh you are my hero! I have a DVR-trv103 that wouldn’t play. I followed your instructions and reset all the connectors. Then the eject function wouldn’t work which was working previously before I dismantled it. I disassembled it again and one of the connectors I didn’t reseat correctly. Once I fixed that it allllllll works. Of course I have about fifteen leftover screws and some brackets I couldn’t get reassembled but it works and I can now download digital copies of my 80+ hours of priceless video. THANK YOu!
hey man! super rad video. I took it to a place to get cleaned, he didn't do the job...I have the same problem you fixed in this video. The playback worked for bout 5-10 minutes total after getting it from him, then it quit out again. I'm a bit of a tinker man myself, followed u step by step, but no dice. Hey Dave, I’m not sure if you’re ever gonna read this but I have the same exact camera but my problem with it is that there isn’t any color as if it looks like it’s just black n white and my other problem is there is no audio. What should I do? Is it possible to send it to you to see if it you can fix it for me?

I have searched for someone to repair and maintain my equipment near me, but have not had any luck. Resorting to help from you tube and people like you. Can I send my camera to you to repair? Im getting the same blue screen while playing problem. It’s spinning like it’s trying to play, but no audio or visuals show up. I don’t trust myself to take it apart and repair it, especially because I’m loaning it from a family member 😅
Hi I have a question so I have a canon es870 8mm camcorder that works but the play back works fine The first few minutes of powering it up but after it starts to get some static and plays in black and white and loses the sound do you have any idea what is wrong with it.

Mine was one of those connectors like he showed us how to reseat. It had come loose. As soon as I reseated it bingo! It was the narrow one on the far left as you have it right aide up.
Hi nice simple fix on this model, Ive learned how to fix many different things from you. I have a sony ev-c400e player which has a problem. When playing the tape it will play for a second or two crystal clear then become distorted and the audio will distort too and sort of pulse fast. It's not the takeup spool and I've tried a cleaning tape twice. Any ideas / experience with this model?
