Interesting, whoever had that camera before you must have returned it with the grip on it, because it definitely does not come with it new out of the box. Nice score!

I wish it wasn't so overpriced. If a user can make due with only 1080p 60FPS video recording, then they can get a Nikon D5300 for $597 (though bulky for vloging) (far better low light performance, and better dynamic range for the sensor, as well as far better auto focus). They can then get a Sigma 17-50mm f2.8 lens for $350 (nikon mount), for a total of $947, and get far better image quality. The most expensive part of a camera, is the sensor, where the cost goes up at an almost exponential rate as the sensor size increases. With that in mind, the RX100 should not be be priced in the APS-C camera range.

When my child was born, I wanted the Nikon D5100 (newest at the time). Problem was I shoot a lot of videos of events and of the family. The DSLR wasn't easy to operate with one hand while the other hand held a child. I made a list of priorities and the top two was frames per second and image sensor. That's what lead me to the RX100 line.
