Thanks for the comment! Yes, newer videos of that nature are shorter. Also, removed annoying intro from all newer videos. However, I am testing long format travel videos.
Great review. 1)Is it really worthy to buy this(sony pcm a10) voice recorder for recording college lectures? 2)Does it (sony pcm a10) can record better quality than smartphone?
I don't recommend spending that much to buy Sony PCM-A10. A smartphone should be good enough for college lectures. Make sure you have a good recording app. I tried a new one by Dolby Laboratories Inc. called Dolby On: Record Audio & Music. It seems to record better quality audio than a few others I tried. If you still want to buy a dedicated audio recorder, can't go wrong with Sony ICD-UX560 or its next model Sony ICD-UX570.
Nice video. Do you know if there is a way to perfectly synch audio recorded with this device to video recorded on a camera if the Sony PCM A10 is not connected to the camera when recording ? Thanks.
@@ADawn Thank you for responding. If I use a video editor how does it find the exact starting point of the sound and match it to the video ? ( I am new to photography and audio. I want to video record birds eating from a feeder in my back yard from a camera at about 30 feet from the target and have two mics right next to the target to record the birds landing, eating and flying away. I don't know how to synch the audio and video exactly. How does the video editing software do the job ? Thank you.
The video editor matches the audio information in the video and in the separate audio and syncs them together in the timeline. Different video editors work differently. Some editors create a brand new video file with the separate audio after syncing, some just put the exact start point of the separate audio in the timeline after syncing. So it all depends. Also, not all video editors offer this feature. If you are using a free version, most likely it won't have audio syncing. In general, if your editor has this feature, look for it in the audio tool section or select both the video and separate audio, right-click and look for the sync option.
