The Sony Pulse 3d vs Arctis 7x / Arctis 7P is here. The Next gen hardware with the PS5 and Xbox Series X has arrived and you might want to see which headest is best. Have you been looking at the $100 Pulse 3d? Or maybe the $150 Steelseries Arctis 7P or Arctis 7X. The Arctis 7P and Arctis 7X are virtually identical except the 7P doesn’t work on the Xbox consoles. Update!!!! These work amazingly well on the PS5 and the Arctis 100% utilizes the tempest audio technology.. I still recommend Arctis even on PS5.......I apologize for the Audio blips and the autofocus issue. By the time I realized it, it was way too late to re edit everything. I forgot to manual focus my camera and the audio thing was just my editor being weird. Anyways, which headset are you liking more?l

@@TelesplashGaming What you want to do is to make a showdown of the 2 main console headsets. The new Arctis 1 Xbox edition is newer the the Arctis 7 u are using and the new Arctis 1 Xbox edition is the one Microsoft is promoding for the next gen Xbox. You can also go Arctis 9x 👍🏻 if you really wanna push the battle. And ofcouce om Xbox set it on Atmos or DTS X. Sony's Tempest Sound engine is not Better then Atmos or DTS Headsphones X. It's the same. But thats my take on it. Why i am saying this is because this showdown makes No sence to me. But thx for the video anyway.

@@TelesplashGaming You mentioned that the SteelSeries Arctis 7X works on the Xbox Series X and the PS5 which sounds great since I plan to buy both systems. I tried finding the 7x on Amazon but it wasn't there. A SteelSeries Arctis 9X did show up on Amazon. Do you know if the 9x also works for Xbox Series X and PS5? And do you know any differences between the 7x and the 9x? Also, do you plan to do a comparison video of gaming headsets that work with both next gen consoles? The Arctis 7x is the first one that I heard works with both consoles. Are there any others or is this my only option? Thanks.

I returned the Pulse 3D and went with the 7X. Waiting for it to be delivered right now. But main reason was because after a while my scalp and ears both hurt from using the pulse. The rubber band you mentioned definitely got more and more uncomfortable over time. I also felt that the bass muffled other sounds too much. Other reason was battery life. I did not get even close to 12 hours on a full charge. More like 9. The 7X on the other hand has a 24 hour battery life. If in real use it has even just twice, like 18 hours, that's a big selling point for me. Having to charge every couple times sucks. I found the code OWNZ to use on steel series website for a 12% discount. No idea where it's from but worth knowing.

I bought the steelseries 7p as soon as they confirmed it would work with the tempest 3d audio thing from ps5. The main advantage I would notice from other headsets, is the materials they use on the steelseries, I’ve had plastic headsets in the past, and they are miles bellow quality as compared to the steelseries.

I bought the new ps headset yesterday and I was going to do the same thing. I tested it on my new Series S and it was shoddy at best. I ended up returning them. I tried it on my PS4 pro to make sure it wasn’t the headset and the headset worked fine for the PS4.

Coming from a playstation gold and a platinum headset, I went with the arctis. After many hours of headset migraines, the comfort of the arctis 7p was a game changer. I do not like the micro usb charger or the lack of chatmix, but it's not that big of a deal. Great review! Subscribed!

Thank you. I love hearing someone using the same headset as me and then getting an upgrade and feeling the same way. The 7x/ 7P are a huge comfort upgrade. I wish it used USB C as well. The chat mix isn't as important to me either. I feel like the PS5 is gonna be so fast, that a quick menu screen will be easy to access if I need it.

Hey Adam. I'm hoping to for sure, but my PS5 is a week delayed, so other reviewers might have theirs up. I am however going to do another mic test with these headsets tomorrow. Wired and wireless for both. I've heard the Pulse 3D loses clarity over wireless. I'll find out.

From my end the 3d pulse sounded natural, where the steel was likely too close, amping undesired sounds. Actually the cheap ones sounded best to me, but i doubt a test like this is going to be reliable. Too many unknown variables. At least with mic test for us. They sounded totally diff, but like he commented, likely identical in use.

@@TelesplashGaming My question, and probably the deciding factor in buying them, is how much more, if at all, the Pulse headset takes advantage of the Tempest 3D audio tech, seeing as it is optimised for the PS5. If the Arctis cans are comparable, I'll probably go with them due to their superior comfort, but if there's a significant difference in how well the 3D audio plays out with the Pulse then they'll likely be my choice. Whether the whole "optimised for PS5" spiel turns out to just be marketing fluff or not will be the real test for me I think.

Not being able to change the volume levels on chat vs gameplay on the steel series is a dealbreaker. Especially if I have to pay more money to not have that functionality. I’ll be getting the Pulse 3D instead.

I actually switched from Steelseries on PS4 to the Pulse 3D for PS5. Because based off this review I think with PS5 with games that use tempest the Pulse 3D will take the cake.

As someone who wears glasses, and a big head, I can say the Pulse 3D clamps against my ears pushing the frame into my head and my ears into the frame. I was finally able to order the 7p today at retail price. Can't wait to get them.

These camera angles killing me. Get a friend to zoom in on the headsets while you wiggle them in front of you 😭👏 Great reviews tho. I Needed the "Vs" for the PS5 Headset. I knew the Sony PS Headsets still feels cheap and the headband not good and have bad sound if the settings are messed up. But of course sound design also matters on the game itself. Ooh, ooh... The microphone on the PS Headsets tho... I forgot that it used 2 Mics on either side... LOL 9/10 If you want good chat mic😭😭😭💀

Both sound like great headsets, but the deciding factor for me is the 7X working on the Series X, PS5, Switch and PC for me.

That was honestly mine as well. I did a lot of research making sure there wasn't something I was missing, but every site says the P and X are identical, except the P doesn't work on Xbox. Unless you are absolutely never going to play a Microsoft console, the X is the way to go.

The pulse 3D is wireless on pc, switch and ps4/ps5, you would have to use the 3.5 on the series x, but it would still work

It's really cool that you take the time and effort to respond back to nearly everyone! I got the Pulse, but haven't had a chance to really try them out yet cuz my PS5 is still downloading games on my crappy internet. I had the Arctis 1 Wireless before, hopefully this is better. I wish there was a type C port on the 7X though. Then I might consider it.

Bought the pulse 3d today and took it back today. Sound is so so muted on it. No bam or boom period everything flat. And on top of it all if you put the dongle behind the ps5 every time you turn your head it cuts out. The front usb works with it fine. To give you an idea of the sound its like buying a set of pc gaming headsets and putting them on and they sound dull and flat until you download the EQ software and update them and wow big difference well they sound like the before. So I took my Razer Nari from my pc hooked it up and its wonderful.If you dont believe me go to walmart buy them then when you found out how bad they sound take them back. I think the Razer Nari Essentials version thats I think 99 as well will be a lot better .

Im sorry if this is a dumb question but 3D audio on ps5 confused me, I heard that ps5 will allow all headsets to do 3D audio, with that being said whats the main differences between this headset and the ps5 Pulse 3D headset in terms of like specs? (Also subscribed this video was EXACTLY what I was looking for)

You are correct about other headsets getting 3d audio. Sony has created this unique tempest audio system that is supposed to make gaming sound more immersive and 3d like. They created a headset specifically designed for it, but other headset manufacturers have also made headsets that will take full advantage of this new audio. This headset has a 24 hour battery life and the Sony Pulse 3d has 12. The Pulse 3d uses a USB c to charge and the Arctis 7x/7P uses Micro USB. They both have noise canceling mics and are comfortable. The Arctis is much more comfortable however. Both have cushioned ear xups, but the Arctis uses a fabric whereas the Pulse 3d uses a Faux leather material. They both have 3.5mm headphone jacks that can be used on anything with a 3.5mm plug in.

My lord the mic on the pulse will definitely pick up background sound and that’s the main reason I can’t wait to replace mine. I hate the dual mic ideas that ain’t been doing with these, just get a damn extended mic. The quality feels cheaper than $100. That micro-usb port is a deal breaker for me. Going for the PlayStation Pulse 3D headset for the USB-C charging. Going to be weird using a pulse 3D headset on my Xbox Series S. At least the white headset fits perfectly with my white Series S.

@@TelesplashGaming well I actually sold mine just today together with my ps4 as a bundle as I am awaiting my playstation 5 I was one of the lucky preorderers so soon I will be testing the new ps5 headset. But yes ps4 good headset is a good cheap and quality headset. You get more for what your paying compared to the over priced headset. I dont know the prices but I'm the steel series is more expensive than the ps5 headset and since you said they are close comparing performance I would pay for the ps5 one because here it is the same price as the gold headset retailing at 179 nzd. My personal preference.

But yes, it does matter to a point, but since the Steelseries is better overall, it's also better when newer technology is available.

Great video man! Just the opinion I was looking for. I'm also coming from the old gold playstation ones. My questions for you are: 1) does your whole ear fit in either of those headphone's earcups comfortably? You said the cups on the pulse are good but does it completely envelop your ear or is it squishing the outside of your ears (like the old gold ps ones)? 2) how much do you miss game/chat adjustment when using the arctis 7x on playstation instead of pulse 3D? I could see it being annoying to have to bring up menu every time you want to adjust. 3) any chance we could get your opinion after using them both on ps5 when it comes out. With 3D audio and all?

Hey Seif, thank you for watching. 1. Yes, my whole ear fits comfortably in both headsets. My left ear has cauliflower from too much jiu jitsu lol and it still slides in perfectly. 2. The Game chat/audio is the only thing I miss about the Playstation gold headset and an advantage for the pulse 3d. The truth is, I rarely have to adjust it once I set it where it needs to be. So I think going into a menu, especially with how fast the PS5 is, won't be a big issue. 3. I will do my best to do a follow up vido once the true 3d audio hits with the PS5

The biggest different is the equalizer software that comes with it. Sony doesn’t have an equalizer software while Steelseries you can download an equalizer software and has customized settings for the type of games you play. To me that is a game changer. The reviewer forgot to mention that part and his review is based on the default settings of the headset.

Ok so I bought the Sony pulse 3d and you were spot on. The mic sounds like a tin can...so says my buddies on the other end. I was using a pair of hyper x wired with an external mic and they said it was way better. Anyway I'm returning the pulse 3d and going to try the steel series for the 150 price tag. The rubber ear cups on the pulse 3d for me are so sweaty and get your ears hot. Second big thing for me was the rubber band adjuster on the pulse 3d...dude it socks and feels stiff and although it doesn't hurt its like having a rubber band on your head. Just saying. I'm praying the steel series doesn't let down. I'll keep you posted. Great job by the way. I'll be subscribing due to your uncanny unbiased review. Just wish I would have listened...cheers

Yeah, same, I just bought an Arctis 7x and had to return it because I couldn't deal with how bad it is as a mic wireless. Downloading an equalizer for PC could help a bit, but got me no where near the sound quality of my Arctis 5 which is what I'll keep using for now. The cord isn't a big deal

Mic sounds way better on the Sony. Used both for music, Sony’s blow away the steel series. And you could hear that loud yell on the steel series, Sony blocks out all that unless you use the monitor feature for it. You can only test two games on PS5 to fully know which is superior and neither offer online game play so we won’t know which is superior for a while but for the price, Sony’s all day. Comfort, steel series. Features for PS5 gamers? Sony

I just got the pulse 3D headset. And honestly they are kinda terrible. Only good for anyone that’s not picky but looking for first party connectivity. For that they are great for obvious reasons. But as a pair of headphones they are bad They are tho exceptionally good for FIRST party Sony games. Demon souls. The Astro ps5 demo I believe as well You really hear 3D audio the way they intended it. Thing is right now any kin first party Sony games are mostly cross gen ps4/ps5 so they haven’t tuned their sound software to interlock with 3D sound Try the headphones with demon souls and you’ll see the difference

Your Turtle Beach is a great headset. If it takes advantage of the 3d audio, I wouldn't switch yet. I don't think you'd notice enough of a difference to warrant a change. I think the newer headsets are better, but I don't think you'll be missing out yet.

For some reason my editor decided to mess with all my transitions once I exported it and I was basically forced to let it go or go back and try to fix every cut. Enjoyed the video! I got my Pulse 3D headset and while I like them, they just didn’t really get loud enough for me. I have a minor hearing disability. I think I’m just spoiled by my Astro A40 and A50. Using the 3D Pulse, I have them at Max volume and it just doesn’t seem too loud. Like, I can’t “jam out” if I want. From several other videos, the 7X was far superior in that dept, so I ordered a pair. They will be here next week. So, in your experience, which one actually sounded louder, overall?

The Steelseries definitely had a louder sound. My only concern is that I'm not sure it's so much louder that it will be immensely noticeable. I would love to hear back from you once you get them. Battlefield and Fortnite. And I was happy when Fortnite added 3D audio because I couldn't hear which side they were to me and I enabled it because I like to hear from what I heard many years in Battlefield 4. My headset gets done with the compatibility for Xbox 1, PlayStation 4 and PC. And I don't like the mics that you have to pull out or that's built on to the side of the headset because I keep my mic piece in the box when my friends joins the lobby

I have the steel series’s 7p wireless on the ps5 and tbh i had a hard time figuring out where shots are coming from i then slapped on my old ps4 gold headset and i just liked the sound much better. I messed with the settings in game i cant hear footsteps better at all most of the sounds sounds muffled i just might return the steel series’s 7P Wireless. I will say this build quality on the steel series’s is 10/10 i suppose theres always a trade off in certain areas.

Comfort is 10/10 for me though and build quality is good. Just wished you were able to change between game and chat audio within the headset

I feel like mics and headsets are the most confusing things to get when it comes to gaming. You never know how it could turn out. But seeing the replies, it looks like you helped a lot of people out!

I'm trying. Audio is so weird sometimes. Some people really have an ear for it, but I'm just a guy who likes gaming.

Ide say the display is. Anyone know a good display for the ps5. Ive got it preorderd. I might just wait till more options come out. Idk

@@TelesplashGaming yeah definitely. If there exspensive i might just stick to the alienware monitor i was going to get and keep with the 1080p but it will atleast be better than my crappy 20 year old tv. Which is HD but not gaming. So either way it will be an upgrade
