I have the Mark V and I love it! 4K Limit doesn't bother me because I really didn't buy it for its video capabilities, but I have found the HFR shooting it can do amazing. Caught a thunder storm with it handheld.

I'll still use my A6500 a lot for video even though I still take my Sony Rx100 mkV more often when I am out and about......just can't beat putting a great camera in my pocket.....even with all its little problems.

I don't mind the 5 min at 4k. I shoot short clips up to 15 seconds as most video clips in a video is 10 seconds at most.

OMG first video of yours I have seen. You are so fun to watch and informative at the same time. I just got the RX100mV after having the m2 which I loaned to the Humane Society and now donated. What a difference. I never used the hotshoe on the 2 and have Fuji XT2 for my professional photography work. The Sony is for travel, cat videos, and perhaps some promotional vlogging. How do you get the sound so good? I need to do some testing on the internal mic to see if it may be good enough. Got the Rhode Mini Mic for the Fuji but it sounds like crappy mono. Any sound tips for video appreciated. Maybe you have a video on this?

Great video! I have an RX100IV and I found it a PITA to use it without a touch screen. I cannot believe Sony left it out from the RX100V from a 1200€ (in Europe) compact in 2016!!! That alone is a dealbreaker for me I refuse to spend this amount of money on something that's missing this basic feature. I would certanly enjoy the improved AF but moving the AF point/area with the tiny dial is just a torture... no thanks. Maybe in 2020 when Sony finally decides to put it in RX100IX...

If you have a Sony RX100 camera and you want a spare battery charged and at the ready then do like I've done and by another compact from Sony like the DSC-WX350 then that way you can swap between batteries when the RX100 has run out of charge. Then by yourself a portable power bank to charge the dead battery in the WX350. This way you have the sophistication of the RX100 combined with the 20 times zoom range of the WX350. 😀

Great video! couple of things: - The "p" stands for progressive. There's also "i" which is interlaced. Google will do the rest for you. - The lack of hotshoe and mic input is because they have the a6300 and such for that kind of usage. - When I see your setup, I REALLY have no idea why you don't go for a real camera :p (DSLR or mirrorless) Is the focus on the m4 really that slow by the way? :o

Good stuff. I usually skip a generation in these RX 100 series for the more dramatic jump and refinements to their feature set. Eagerly awaiting the RX 100 MK VI. Good jump from my current MK IV I'm hoping.

I don't get it. Pay $1k for a camera that overheats and shots down in 5 mins or less? And no other camera can do what this thing does within those 5 mins? I find that hard to believe.

I bought because of overheating issue RX100Mk3... no overheating, 1080p is doing a great job! and I am totally satysfied with shooting pictures... even I was wondering if I want to buy MK5 because that´s all I was waiting for. I still don´t know if I want it, because of overheating... that´s for me a very big issue (means no timelapses, no longer videos) but maybe I can live with that. but still 1200€ for a product that overheats, not so sure. . . . Also one thing I want to say, ISO should be testing in night situations, in a day situations I can see nothing, in a day situations is almost not usable.

Hello, I use my camera to show live feed of coins to a RU-vid feed for selling an auction. The mount I use basically the camera is upside down. How can I change the orientation so that even if the camera is upside down the feed is right side up. Many thanks, Chris

Pretty cool for $500 camera. This does a lot of the things my A7rII does(well not in full frame, interchangeable lens but still that's over 3k in comparison.
