Let's talk about Sony possibly SHUTTING down the PSP, Vita and PS3 stores! I hope these rumors are not true, but if so... this is very upsetting. What do you think about this? Share it in the comments!

Credit to Destructoid: "According to a report from TheGamer, the PlayStation Portable, PlayStation Vita, and PlayStation 3 stores are going to shut down in 2021. In the aftermath of such a move, people would no longer be able to buy digital copies of PSP, Vita, and PS3 games and content - they'd be inaccessible to new players.
It's not official yet - TheGamer's source believes Sony will make an announcement by the end of this month - but the closure dates are expected to be July 2 (PSP and PS3) and August 27 (Vita)." Full article: www.destructoid.com/stories/s....

Sony sucks so much for doing this. This is about as anti-comsumer as it gets. Now we know why they didn't include ps3 in the new library. They want to pretend we never bought those games. Screw that, I don't trust Sony now. Xbox here I come.

I'm still mad about this, I've been trying to gather as many PS3 games that I'd actually play in physical form cuz I knew they would do this. It's rough and they should see what's happening in the market and understand that consumers still want these games

As an old school gamer who has been gaming from the very start, I have always preferred the disc versions of my games. My PS1, PS2, PS3 and PS4 games are going to be worth a fortune!

I just hope they let us redownload our libraries at the very least, as I mostly have what I want from both the PS3 and PS Vita stores. Let’s hope so once an official announcement is made soon.

This is why we need to bring back Sega and SNK back to video game console market. Because right now there only 3 companies on the video game market: Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo. Thats why companies are so greed this days because the lack of competition on the market and they dont have to worry about going bankrupt because there lack of options in order to buy videogames consoles. Right now the only portable videogame market left is the Nintendo Switch. We need to bring more competitors on the videogame market to stop the greed and sucking peoples money on microtransactions and digital gaming and shutting down servers and digital games shops on the older consoles to force people to spend more money on brand new consoles and buying more games on the current consoles. This is disgusting and it needs to stop.

99 views! I havent bought any digital games for my ps3 . All my games are in physical form less chance in losing my games. You do you have point. Like cassette tapes are coming back as an novelty so millennials can spend their bitcoins on nostalgia. One more thing vinyl has been around forever so keep fighting good fight. I enjoy your channel !

I’ve been buying as much PS Vita digital games as I can the last couple of days. Luckily I’ve been collecting vita games for a few years now so I have a lot of games that I want for it but I have also been purchasing the physical Vita games that I have meaning to get as well before they go way up in price because of this. Sad times indeed. Great video as always Juan!

This is likely an unpopular opinion...I think that the PS3 store being open so long was more than we could have hoped for. I find it surprising they haven't shut this down long ago. Especially the Vita! Whether it's movies, TV shows, books, music, or video games, if there's something you like get a hard copy!

The vita store getting closed together with the psp store doesn't make sense, i mean psvita is next generation and with ps4 share so many games, crossplay- cross save and remote play, killing it feels out of place when you consider how popular it has become recently. A hacked vita is the king of the handhelds at the moment.

Just threw 75$ to ps3 games, my main buy was Hard Corps (I've seen it in so much videos lately that I had to do it). But I'm having PSN error when trying to download new or old own games. Is frustrating. It seems many people are having these issues.

Yes!! It happened to me too and I was able to find a fix. Turn on 2 factor authentication by doing this process: www.playstation.com/en-us/support/account/2sv-psn-login/ Once you do that, use the password provided in your email to log in to your ps3. Afterwards turns off the console. Go back to the site and under settings turn off 2 factor authentication. Turn on the ps3 again and use your regular password. A bit confusing, but this worked for me.

The PS4 was the last unique generation jump for Sony consoles in my opinion. Every generation launch from now on will more than likely be a watered-down pc buit console (unless Sony goes back into handheld gaming, which I hope they do). I still enjoy my PSP Go (which would become a paperweight after the shut down unless people use cfw) with my legitimate purchases from the PS Store.

I'd love it if it were a fake rumor. I get the impression that Sony doesn't really care about their fans; like you pointed out, we had backwards compatibility on ps2 and some models of ps3, then we had to repurchase games if we wanted to play them on new hardware. I love the Vita, but the price of those memory cards and the trainwreck that is the store on the Vita is why I buy whatever I can on Switch or 3DS. Microsoft is the only one of the 3 that really seems to appreciate their customers as much as they should on the compatibility front. I wish there was one store that companies used where, if you buy a game digitally, you have that game permanently going forward as new hardware is released. Sorry for the long comment. I just try getting tubitv on my ps3 and they said ever since jan 2021 they do not support ps3. So, i guess nobody uses tubi lol bcoz it wouldve been a more clear and early sign of things to come. I wonder if this will affect youtube and the ither apps i got on my ps3?

I don't think they should shut them down....I know a lot of people who still got a PS3. People still even have the psp and vitas. It might be because they aren't a Japanese company anymore.

Don't know if this is morally right but if a company cannot sell me that specific game i want to play and eBay explodes in used games, I don't see the problem with modding my ps3 and install easy to use free stores. It is, in a way, also video game preservation , because the passionate communitys of that platform keeps the console somewhat alive imo. I know it's piracy but what choice do we have as consumers?

@@777DISCIPLE yeah, I use Webman mod. I have even played Destiny. No Ban so far but many say it's your risk. The possibility of getting banned is possible but my friend has had it jailbroken for 3 years and he says he hasn't gotten banned while playing online. At the end it's your risk. So good luck.👍

Jaun, do you have a modded PS3? Now is the time. I've seen this coming for a long time. Originally, I hacked my PS3 so I can play my PS2 games through HDMI. In the back of my mind though, I kew this would eventually come. So a few months back I got a 1TB drive and installed it, loaded all of my movies and games I purchased (as well as a couple of delisted games) and am now sitting pretty on a stack of PS3 games.

This is a perfect time to get modded PS3,Sony will stop making system updates for PS3,so new exploits won't get patched.I modded my PS3 and installed MultiMAN and many other apps and Homebrews.Latest system version is 4.87 and modding it is really easy and in the future it will be even better

Hey Juan, suertuda yo que compré la PS3 en noviembre de 2020, y prefiero los juegos en físico, peero me parece y capaz me equivoco, que esto incrementa la cantidad de gente que va a chipear sus máquinas, acá en Argentina los precios son muy caros y cambian todo el tiempo, así que creo que no es bueno para la consola o para la originalidad de la misma, la mía está original y así va a seguir, consigo juegos difícilmente en buen precio, y me estoy dedicando más a la 360, pero agradezco tener ambas, aunque me da mucha pena la gente que vaya a conseguir hoy su consola ya que no van a poder descargar nada, mal Sony, muy mal!! Saludos a todos!!!

Yup. I Jailbroke my ps3 three months ago. I always liked to buy a game digitally and physically. Usually good campaign games. Now knowing this. I know I made the right choice. 👍
