WH-1000XM3 and WF-1000XM3 are probably the worst purchases in my life. I was shocked how bad they sound. Especially, after tons of reviews leaking Sony's a55es. Hidden advertise in "objective reviews" became terrible these days. I'll never trust Sony now.

If the highs,volume was bigger the Boombox 2 would have lost all together but the Boombox 3 promises deeper bass and intense clarity

@@TheAscendedTechNinja yes the boombox 3 is a beast! 🙏🏻 However , you have to push the Bass to get deeper Bass from Sony. Mid/Upper bass i prefer from the Sony way more than the JBL boombox 2 can give. = JBL BOOMBOX 2 for Indoor. Sony XG-500 for outside Can you agree?

In my opinion I Actually prefer the Boombox 2 deep bass indoors,outdoors at higher volumes but everything else I can agree on

Interesting because when I use Sony party connected kill off the deep bass on the Sony speakers but I still like my XG-500 to this day

@@TheAscendedTechNinja I have a lot of bass on it. I usually have to adjust the volume to balance the sounds of the speakers. I turn up the volume of the XG500 to get the deep bass, and turn up the XB43 to get the midtones and bass. You can also make adjustments on your phone with the sound settings. My phone has the side to side adjustment where the sound comes mostly from the sides of the speaker. It sounds way better than the wide surround sound.

My built-in EQ sucks so I just use megabass and call it a day

I have the sony xg 500 , and it sounds amazing , however to get the most out of it you need a custom equalizer, using a modern samsung A series or S series phone.The equalizer apps from the playstore are very poor and only introduce distortion. If you dont have a samsung phone , you will not get the most out of this speaker I realized there are some problems with the xg500 1 is that the factory treble settings used by sony is way too low. This can be rectified with the built in equalizer on samsung phones, you need to raise 4k , 8k , 16k treble to the maximum , when this is done the muffle sound from the xg 500 is totally gone. 2 another problem is that the material sony used for the xg500 , creates the muffle sound, it blocks out the treble , the material looks great and is durable , however it blocks out treble from escaping from the 2 tweeters. This is totally rectified by boosting the 4k , 8k 16k treble as i have mentioned before on the samsung phones. 3 the app sony provided has poor equalizer adjustments. The app gives you the remaining battery life etc, has lighting controls, karaoke settings , it is very good. Much better than the apps from jbl, however sony hard limits the anount of treble and bass you can add. Which is why you still need a samsung phone to get the most out of the xg 500. My battery life is amazing even at max volume. To get the xg500 to play at its loudest , you need to plug in the wall adapter. All in all i didnt regret choosing the sony over a jbl boombox. The sony is more versatile , like having mic inputs, turning it into an instant karaoke machine, i just plug in my wireless mic. The boombox does not have this function, for my speaker collection i have 2 Harman kardon onyx studio 3 , a jbl party box and the sony xg 500

@@TheAscendedTechNinja you're welcome. I love my XG500 tbh it's a very lovable speaker. Hard to put it into words but there's something about that just feels warm. I always enjoy listening to it. I liked it when I first got it but I like it even more since I took it apart. It's repairable design makes me feel kinda hopeful for the future. Even if Sony can't provide parts, eventually another player's gonna come in and make batteries or something. And that would be truly amazing. Right to repair is very important imo 👌

How long did you listen to them for? The Boombox 3 runs away after 70% and the Sony sounds nice but very weak in comparison

@@TheAscendedTechNinja I listened to em for almost an hour, played one after the other, same song both max volume, had em played together same song and I could hear both, the sony and the jbl, loudness was very similar. I felt they both sound very similar overall , I was actually very surprised with the sony given jbl's reputation. Sony did fall back for a while when it comes to speakers, but now it's another story, they working very hard. I honestly like em both for different reasons.

I did a bass test with a sony SRS XG-500 and Spectriod says very clearly that the speaker goes down to about 35Hz and then it dips completely.(about 38hz the same decibel loudness like above) , so real deep bass) for Another interesting thing about the Dolby Atmos EQ, the first band of 10 bands is 47 hz and the second is almost 200 hz. that's why I increase 47 hz (+10) and get a much stronger deep bass. But 50-70 hz are also pushed massively

In my testing and DLX Willington we both noticed it's still playing below 35 but in real world usage it is a higher note of that bass. But in the real world 37HZ if you wanted to squeeze it is where it stops at

And not everyone can use full potential because not everyone has the available software and I looked at your first video and by the time you get to 38 it's gone just about ik there's RU-vid processing and other stuff. Just waiting here for sony bm2 🌚 also i dunno where did you get the info about the sony but you seems to have miss readed the sony manual paper inside the box,for me says 70w battery 80w plugged :).Also get your self Dolby Atmos or THX hub or anything which can stream ldac on hi-fi,you need 10band eq do get the most of the sony😉.Also i would like to add that sony in my europe country cost twice less from jbl2 :).

I looked everywhere bro and for a good looking source and there are lots of videos of JBL Flips,Charges powering huge woffers even subs they just won't get that loud and I been uploading my videos in 4k for almost a year now it just takes time to process so I held it to make it available in 4k automatically

It is actually 70 watts when plugged in 60 on battery a viewer told me from the Sony Japan website

I understand and I should review the UE Hyperboom as well but I got my XG-500 for 180$ refurbished with no scratches and problems 😁

You can find it for that price on Amazon sometimes. I haven't seen or heard the UE in person 🤔

Depending on how much you paid for it. But if it's for full price I would definitely take it back and get a Boombox 3 unless you like the warm sound signature

so thank you for mentioning that the Sony is the best low-mid volume bass speaker. Exactly that can certainly be increased again with the equalizer, but whether it will then go up to 70-80% without distortion, I strongly doubt that.

Well with a additional eq your going to get more distortion anyway but in general the main eq doesn't distort much anyway

Well I want to keep the Studio 7 VS SRS-XG500 short because there are not direct competitors but I am going to put it up against the JBL Boombox 2 again in a sound test

Poweramp is good but the EQ in Samsung phones suck, they reduce the volume by a long shot to create safe EQ headroom but both speakers has gotten updates since this video so they sound better especially the Sony

@TheAscendedTechNinja the samsung equalizer reduces the volume ,but the audio quality remains cristal clear , so you sacrifice some volume at the cost of improving audio quality, but in most cases the volume is still sufficient despite having a reduced volume on the xg500 Even with the reduced equalized volume it's still crazy loud indoors , since the xg500 naturally has alot of headroom for getting loud. I can also raise the bass with the Samsung equalizer and allow the bass to sound much deeper. I slightly adjust the 63k and 125k together for a deeper bass and improved mid bass for rock songs

Not true at all. Just tested both at Best Buy at all volumes. Jbl sounds really bad next to the Sony

The Harman Kardon speakers can get 4 hours 30 minutes between 50 to 60% volume and 1 hour 30 minutes at maximum volume also I do have time stamps in the video

@@TheAscendedTechNinja I checked it at store yesterday. It's really very low volume at 50% on Onyx Studio. And after 50% it just becomes noisy. Sound is really bad after 70%. Also, Citation 200 sounds not that good and has WiFi/Bluetooth problem. The one, which really sounds good and loud is Boombox 3. I didn't want to buy it, because it's $500. But there's no real choice around. Also, I liked Partybox 310. Really nice bass. I'm only afraid about its highs... I'm not sure if I'll be able to add it enough through equalizer. Boombox 3 is really nice on highs and mids. But it's missing lows while playing near Partybox 310. Sony misses it everywhere! All modern Sony products just suck 🙄

The charge 5 is my favorite speaker but my unit is defective because of battery dies in 3 hours at mid to high volumes I should call JBL soon to issue a replacement and what speakers do you have 🤔

But both of them today received updates, Sony got the biggest update while the JBL was minor

The XG-500 has more upper and mid bass but it simply cannot compete even after the updates they have in deep bass.. also it's still not as loud in AC Mode without a3rd party like Dolby atmos or something like that bit it does come down to personal taste

Btw the JBL sounds better once you use the eq since both speakers got a update since this video. I use my speakers mostly average to high listing volume like 80%

Asia Sony I saw it on a Indian youtube channel. Look Google write Sony XG 500 Japan. With the tweeter it is even more than deposited. Source Sony mail : 5watts per tweeter mains 70watts accu power and 80 watts with a power adapter. The 30 or 35 watts stand only for 1 driver without the second and tweeter specs. Weird marketing 🤣
