Hi! I already had random shutdowns twice in my old desktop PC and all got sorted out after cleaning all the ram modules contacts with a pencil rubber. Maybe you could try that, it worked for me. These contacts are generally made from copper and eventually they oxidize and pencil rubber is perfect to get them shiny again. If it works for you you'll get your tablet PC back without spending any money. After all these years it's still a great tablet PC for having around.

Thanks I have done just that. I have also left out a 2gb ram module and left the 4gb one in as an experiment just in case it may have been a faulty ram. So far it has run for three hours without a shut down. Fingers crossed it will last. The fault was intermittent through so we will have to see.

I've come across this issue a few times with a couple laptops. One was caused by a faulty battery so removing it was a quick and dirty fix as replacing it wasn't really an option due to age. The other one was more of a pain because the issue was in the power delivery area of the motherboard, it was like having a faulty desktop pc power supply, never really found a fix for that although was suggested to reflow the motherboard (which is really not worth it and I don't have the tools for it besides an oven which would do more harm than good) Always annoying when they don't have an obvious cause or fix and even more so when the problem goes away because you're always wondering when/if the problem will reappear.

Yes the interment faults are the worst. It's still running ok...for now.

Hello, the battery and charger work, thank you very much, but I cannot connect the wireless keyboard and mouse. This is not original Sony. As a result, I can't do anything on the PC, including in Vaio Care. Maybe you had a similar experience or know how to deal with it. The system also doesn't want to turn on, it says "not found".

Only the original Sony wireless keyboard and mouse will work as the dongle is in the computer. Use a usb wired keyboard and mouse. If it says operating system not found them either the Hard disk has been removed or damaged or no operating system is installed.
