Sony TCM-939 cassette player | No sound | Can I fix it?

This Sony TCM-939 cassette player doesn't play any sound, apart from a loud hum. I want to fix it, so I can test my Spectrum 48k games.
I have set up a Patreon account where I'll be posting photos and videos of upcoming projects and what I'm currently working on.

IPA Isopropyl Alcohol. You can also use switch cleaning lubricant like Kontakt Super 10.

Such a Retro collectors problem..... the only cassettes you have to test are the screeches of data and not music. I remember a friend who had a spectrum and you had to load the games with the volume set to a certain level, even it playing through the speaker should have no affect on it, it was that temperamental. Didn't some tape players have the ability to slightly adjust the speed of them too?

Come to think of it, I remember adjusting something for a certain game. I had one game that refused to work on my cassette player, so I borrowed my friends from up the road, everytime I wanted to load this certain game. Using copied games made things even worse.
