107dB!! That is officially dangerous to listen to for more than 30 minutes! 🙂 I like the use of the dB meter - useful for comparisons.

Do you guys even realize that you're just flexing random numbers with no relation? Comparing SPL measurements in different filters. In this video he was measuring in filter A while most companies will post their SPL in C filter. Different filters use different weighting and will vary drastically.

Like Darren said, it is a lot louder and the bass is noticely more powerful. However the biggest difference is the lower frequency range making the low ends of music very clear and keeping that clarity all the way to to max volume. It really has the sound of something much more premium, rather than the normal Partybox sound you would expect

Buddy I'm still learning about my speakers so forgive me if I ask a dumb question. I'm sure this is louder than the XV 900 , but in your opinion is it worth the extra $300 to buy it?

Totally not worth it in my opinion. Just go watch some videos on the build quality and drivers used in these sony speakers... they are hardly worth half their asking price.

By my estimate it's worth around $600-800 tops. Definitely not 1200.

This speaker is in many ways a downgrade from the XV900. They only made it louder (which is to be expected since it's AC powered instead of battery powered) without much improvement in the sound quality. They didn't even bother upgrading the woofer from XV900 so the speaker sounds very bright with no recognizable low end to speak of. XV900 also had upward firing drivers that Ult Tower doesn't have. They should've copied JBL design and put the exhaust port in the back while adding additional woofer. Overall a huge disappointment from Sony.

Not to mention the speaker is already 3 years outdated at the point of it's release still using Bluetooth 5.2. Ultimate released 8 months ago and has Bluetooth 5.3 which supports Auracast. That's a big deal.

Personally no, I thought the sound was quite washed out and the bass was poor quality. It seems to be made more as a piece of art rather than audio equipment

@@darrenwipf9868 well I guess it's everyone's personal performance isn't it. It sounds like it has a lot, especially through RU-vid videos. But it's all very artificial to my ears, and sounds cheap.

The Sony ULT Tower 10 is very loud and epic bass cause it has two level of ULT Bass boost level like level 1 for deep bass for level 2 Attack Bass like the most powerful bass can shake the windows and floors the Sony ULT Tower 10 truly a party monster.

I'm pretty sure they are about the same. Ultimate may be noticeably louder with maxed out EQ. I would like to see side by side comparison of the two in terms of SPL.

Ultimate is louder. Floss did a brief max loudness test and Ultimate reached 107.5 dB. Sony was at only 106 dB.

You need to try one in person. I have always been a fan of JBL and they are definitely my preferred speakers. However in this case, this takes the crown from the JBL. The bass is stronger and clearer, the sound stage is wider and the volume can go louder. Shame it didn’t come across in this video for you, but trust me it’s an amazing speaker

@@HammoTechReviews 😂You lost all your credibility when you said it has stronger bass. I've heard it in person and even 710 shakes the surrounding more than Sony.

@@ALEX-R.77 I have no reason to lie about it… my honest opinion is that the bass is stronger and better on this than the JBL alternatives. Doesn’t mean I don’t think those are still great speakers! Not sure where you heard it, but it’s more likely it was on a low bass setting or connected to a low quality audio device. Please don’t come on here and say I’ve lost all my “credibility” because my opinion differs to yours.

@HammoTechReviews well if you say so & you're entitled to your opinion but for me jbl run tings for me. I heard this sony speaker play and it's not for me. I love my bass line and for me the bass ain't happening.

Same for me. Party speakers mostly are (and should be) about bass. Deep, floor shaking bass - that's where JBL exceeds at. Sony doesn't really understand this concept and they tune all their speakers the same way regardless of their intended use. No matter if it's their home speaker or a party speaker. So again, to me entire Sony party speakers lineup are a failure from the tuning perspective. If I wanted a balanced sounding sound signature (like Sony has) I wouldn't be looking for a party speaker to begin with. I'd just rather get a hi-fi speaker, making their party speakers completely obsolete in my eyes.

Wish there was a built in battery. But I think they will make this kind of same speaker with built in battery one day. When it comes to Sony, everything is possible. This model is just for killing the Partybox Ultimate.

Not gonna happen. There is a reason why speakers this size don't have a battery - It would make the speakers even heavier than they already are and the battery would last an hour tops, making the whole idea entirely pointless.

Greetings from Panama... Jbl may have good bass but Sony surpasses it in sound quality, but I have been watching videos of the Sony Ult Tower 10 and that speaker is a gem, now Sony has definitely surpassed Jbl with its new Ult technology, Sony has returned to crush Jbl... I am very observant and I could notice in your video that the Ult Tower 10 was able to reach a maximum of 108.8 and 107.7 db

Yes, you are very observant but also very deaf at the same time. JBL has superior sound quality to Sony and always had. People just don't know what quality sounds like, they think louder = better. 🤦‍♂
