This is my second video about the Sony VAIO UX VGN-UX380N Micro PC (UMPC).
In this video, I'll show how some of the commonly used apps run on it. I'll be doing some Web browsing, use Microsoft Office, read PDF documents and play a few (old / opensource) games.

i've owned one of these since new, haven't touched it 12 years with the last OS i used successfully being Windows 7 but am now trying to shove Windows 10 onto it. so far no luck, out of box installer experience keeps erroring out...still trying...

Are they worth it? Prices seem pretty crazy on eBay.

@@AdamAve93 idk the prices but I’d say no. While I did just get Windows 10 on it it is super slow and buggy. While I found some drivers for things like the memory stick duo reader, i haven’t found the utility to calibrate the resistive touch screen or the mouse thumb stick which is stuck clicking by default with the slightest touch without its utility to calibrate. The usb port is only 1.1 and dog slow too. Save ur money. Even if I did got back to windows 7 which did run well for the time Sony has pulled the back end to the driver update utility so still stuck without the proprietary utilities to make it fully functional again. Doh.

Oh and I forgot how bad the keyboard was. No feel to the keys they are mostly mush so tapping out quick messages is tough. Unfortunately buying this new was one of my less wise spends.

i have TPLink Archer AX6000 router, my ux380 does not even find my network. my phone and tablet and laptop works fine but it does not find my network. it does find other networks. i dont know why? should i upgrade its wifi card?

I own this device love it and It actually plays games like fallout 1 even will play some newer games like Stalingrad or even some might know age of empires divine Divinity silent storm as long as the specs are slightly lower then unit your good 👍🏾👍🏾 I'd advise getting a gog account it can play alot of games off that isometric games and low end 3d games

Still waiting for my 490n to arrive. Subscribed after seeing an updated video on vaio ux in 2020. Appreciate it.. Hope you will continue posting Vaio UX videos. Could you try the latest Linux mint (cinnamon) need to see how firefox and mypaint perform ??

I'd recommend trying out the basilisk xp mod for a browser, I use it on xp on a thinkpad x40 and it performs a lot better than mypal. It should be good for vista also as basilisk no longer supports vista

I noticed the (bios)beeping sound when the device restarted.. even my device is giving that.. is it normal.. ??

The bios beeping only happened when I pressed the shortcut keys to enter recovery. if it always happens then check for stuck keys or other system errors (such as hard disk failure or overheating / cooling fan stuck)
