WH-1000XM4 static crackling noise
I have had the WH-1000XM4 headphones for a week now. Already on the second day of use I noticed that the right headset emits a strange noise that occurs at any time and lasts for various periods of time. My right ear fatigue and even starts to hurt from the constant noise. The noise is only when the ANC is turned on, and if the ambient sound is turned on, the noise disappears. FW is up to date! I tried a hard reset according to the recommendations - didn't help. Noise of varying intensity is sometimes minimal and sometimes loud enough. I listen to 90% of my music while sitting at work. Headphones are expensive, but their quality is very poor. Listening to music in such conditions is unpleasant. so i decided to replace the main board some time this problem come from main board.
please check the headphone very carefully before you buy second hand one.

Hi, thanks for the video, it is very useful. I haven't fixed mine yet, but on the right headphone (the one with the touch control) whenever I touch the surface of the headphone I hear a sort of crackling noise, no matter where I tap with my finger (even if tapping softly). What do you think this may be due to? Also, whenever I walk or there is external vibration (like on the airplane) this crackling sounds persists. It even affected the bass quality (not in the left headphone though). What could it be?

First off all. Do the calibration and check the firmware version and if it is old. do the update. Check all these things. Before you decide to do any repairs

@@mrdrone1212 I did the update from the phone app and the problem seems to persist. Is that the same thing as doing a firmware update? Or is this done when you do it thru the computer and directly to the headphones?

These headphones as with the MK 3's are garbage. I had 4 pairs, all faulty with the same issue, all returned. Beer had an issue with my Mk 1's which are still going. I've heard the same issue is cropping up on the new MK 5 ones too

Quick question what was your sony doing exactly? Mine every time I move slightly when they are on the left ear cup faintly statics when no music is playing. Only with anc on though.

Mine has a white noise in the right ear. Sometimes it makes a high pitched noise also. ;-; idk what to do

@@tdog9683 the high pitch noise, should go away when you disable NC. If this is the case the filter over the NC microphone inside the cup is clogged. I found out after sending mine for an RMA, and i got it back after.... 6 WEEKS. It happened again afther like 6 months. So instead of sending it back i opened it up and replaced the little cloth filter over the microphone. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-20v788Xb9vQ.html was a guide. It doesn't void any warranty stickers btw!

@@FutaNoKami yeah I tried to clean that I took it off replaced it and it still didn’t work also tried to just not use the cover at all but i remember getting a little water on it right before it broke so it’s probably water damage

hey i got some questions my sony wh 1000xm3 front time to time the left ear cup starts to sound wierd then it stops sounding wierd then starts again its at random do you think its beacuse of the noise cancelling? i open the left earcup and i found some moisture inside and i found out i little burn fron the nfc antenna still didnt find why the wierd sound
