Good Video on the 2017 Road Glides However the Black 2.5 mm connector in the harness needs to be plugged into the back of the head unit otherwise the handlebar controls will not work 😊 the reason I was going to call you all this morning, As my handlebar controls would not work without connecting that Black 2.5 connector, Oh and the Sony XAV AX 7000 is So frigging awesome !!! Wow Sound with RFG speakers and RFG 300 watt amp !! What sound OMG Blows my socks off!!

So this is a great video for install. There are some questions that I read on here and I have the same questions. I have lid speakers (removed ultra tour pack speakers) so how does all that connect? and on a 2018 RG what about the PTT for the WHIM system? will that sill work if I have the WHIM module in place? Received mine and cant wait to install it. However, I'm still planning it all out. do you have a recommended USB cable extension? I want one that will mount on the inside of the storage space. I'll put one one each side, easier to not confuse between the two. My phone, Note 10 Plus barely fits in the storage area without a cable. I'm looking for a 90 degree USB C connector to the USB A male. I just found a few with great Android Auto ratings but they only work without a case on the phone. I found a couple that will work with a case but no review with Android Auto. LOL. This is a fun project, trying to do it right the first time!
Just installed this unit on my pop's bike. It does not have a GPS, navigation and most other functions must come from your phone. Break your phone and your left with Glorified FM radio. Also it is touch screen but has a row of buttons across the bottom. While trying to set it up I would have to use these hard to read buttons because no one screen buttons would bring me out of the page I was on. Not water proof as you can see from other videos and much less functionality than many other 100-250$ units
Hey Brother....I have a quick question for you. I installed this on my 2017 Triglide. Set it up...function checked everything and was working great. Turned off my bike and the next day I went to start it up and the radio would not come on. I pulled the fairing and checked all the connections and the pins on the power connector. Plugged it back in and radio powered up. Went for a ride...parked the bike and shut it off. The next day same thing happened again....thoughts? Think I need the ECM flashed for aftermarket radio? Thanks!
Hi there if you sell the sony xav 5000 with the harnesses and everything it needs for plug and play how much it? Will it work on a Metra kit for a 2006 street glide?
Tom Needmorebeer it does not. I’ve also found the voice/call button doesn’t do anything. I personally think the hand control module could be a bit better and include more functionality, but it does the basics without issues. For example, I’ve found the right joystick hold forward or backwards for fast forward / rewind a song is very hit or miss. Pressing the right thumb stick in does give you an “ATT” / mute button, which didn’t have on the stock radio and it’s extremely useful when pulling up to a stop light to talk to your buddy..
