I was undecided between both of these speakers. I went to check tem out side by side at best buy. It was a noticeable sound difference and i ended up getting the XE 300. I absolutely love it. I prefer its sound profile to JBL as well. Just my personal opinion
The whole point of the thin section is to give a wider spread, and the panels do help reflect sound outwards as well. Though, in my testing the spread/directivity isn't great either way, and a tweeter, more sophisticated waveguide, or both would have gone a long way in that regard.
@Jeremy Dumitrache OMG me too. Hv been trying the xb33 xe300 jbl charge 5. Nothing beats the xb32. Sony seems to reduce sound quality with new speakers.
The XE200 sounds so thin I wouldn't consider buying ever. I have the XB33 and think these are a downgrade, what was Sony thinking honestly? I regret a little not getting the XB43 but that would have been a 40 to 50€ cost increase. XB33 sounds even better if you put it on top of a resonating box.
I've got the same two speakers as you in your video. The blue 200 and the charcoal greyish black 300 sucks can't do stereo with both of these. You have to have two 200 or two 300s smh
the JBl speakers will always have clear and punchier sound. but you can always change the Sony's EQ to match that in the app. For me I'd still like the Sony's better because I like the vocals to be foward and juts a good amount of treble to come through. The JBL always seems to be V shaped so vocals are kind of pushed back
