Sony XM-GS4 Amplifier RMS Power Testing - 4 Channel Amplifier 

I have GS4 and GS100 and these things never fails to impress me. I used to run this amp in bridged mode (2-channel mode) with the final impedance of speaker drivers at 2 ohms and it plays flawlessly for long musical sessions, but then I noticed the amp getting really hot to touch. Then i switched to 4 ohm drivers, now the amp does not heat much and i don't notice much difference in audio quality. I have paired the GS100 with two 12inch subs with final impedance at 2ohm and it is a class D beast. No matter which car the amps go into, they are made to rock your ride.

I have been roaring this amp with my two 12s for almost 3 years now! Outstanding longevity.

This amp is powering my Sony Mobile ES speakers and the sound quality is so clean and crisp. I love my Sony Mobile ES speakers and DM GS4 amplifier.

my experience with Sony and ES lines of amplifiers are superb quality at a great price as well. Something you don’t find very much these days …keep on rocking.

Can you do the same for Sony gs 100 mono amp too?

I don’t think anything beats this at the same price point. I am highly impressed with Sony. This is close to JL low and mid tier amps in performance and clean power. This amp blows away kicker CX and similar amps at the same price point.

I am planning to buy xm-gs4. Still this is a good purchase in 2024 any other equivalent amplifier can be considered within same budget

I just ordered one of these today for a $198 on amazon.. I also have the gs100.. Trying to sell the gs100. Didnt realize it was only a 2 channel.

Does this amplifier deliver the same rms in 4 channel driven and 2 channel driven mode ?

Hello.. I have N1004 amp powering 2 Audison prima components (100W rms) and 2 Audison coaxial speakers (70W rms), both 4 ohm impedance. Unfortunately my speakers are getting tripped every half an hour with high wheezing noise.. although the speakers come to life once I turn off the ignition and restart it.. what might be the issue? Is N1004 amp under powered or there is a head unit problem? I own a xuv 500 w6 car with stock head unit. Thanking in anticipation..

Great specs, but why didn't Sony use better terminals instead of ones from the 90's??

I am using these two amp in bridge mode n only taking 95w RMS ,so that its can pump out purest signal of 0.05% THD.

Does acoustic characteristics of low pass mode differ between xm gs100 class d and xm G4 Class AB? I feel so.. XM G4 gives low frequency resonance like below 40 hz and xm gs100 resonance peaking at 48 to 55 hz..

Ok serious question is posible to wire 12 speakers (8) mids (4) tweeters @2 ohm and use a taramps md1800 not a 4 channel amp?

Здравствуйте.Этот усилитель с вентилятором?У меня есть похожий усилитель.Но с небольшими отличиями...И без верхней крышки...Не могу нигде в Ю-Тюбе найти свой не усилитель....Но у меня вентилятор стоит на той ширине,но ровно по центру.И две платы так-же рассположенны,но только по 2 переключателя на фильтрах.

mine has a bit of a clipping sound from speakers when going beyond rated 70 watt @ 16.7 volts so i would suggest to not go beyond 17 volts or 16.7 volts @ 4 ohm if u want to listen clean

Can someone let me know if it can run 4 door + 4 tweeters + 1 central speaker + 1 subwoofer? I own a kia seltos and it has 4 door + 2 front tweeters stock... stock speakers are pretty nice but they lack stereo sound

Sony still don't learn to place the Remote lead between + and - leads...damn this is so stupid if you want 4/6 awg cables so much less space for isolation of the cables

The SMD AMM-1 readings do not add up and make sense? At 1khz you state 19.17volts thats 92rms not 72rms You also claim 19.14amperage draw with 2 channels hooked meaning for the claimed 72rms reading of the AMM-1 to be true the amp would need to be as inefficient as %52 which is wicked low. Going back to the table of 19.17 volts being 92rms then the 19.14 amperage is more believable as it would put the amp at %66.5 efficiency Same goes for your results with 40hz sinewave you state 19.08volts which is 91rms not 76rms as claimed with the Amm1 and at 18.42 amp draw the efficiency would have to be %57 for the amm1 to be correct which again doesnt sound right whereas if we take it as 91rms it would be %68 which does sound right Lumy look ok hp 8903b looks ok Gs4 looks ok Amm1 = speaking out of his ass :)
