How to Hard Reset Sony Xperia.

+Moral More - HI ZFix, i just got the Xperia C5 Ultra this month and started having issues with the front facing camera. I contacted Sony, they sent me instructions on how to reset the phone with pC Companion however, didn't work. I even tried through this video and at the end it said my phone was up dated...but i am still getting the Protected Screen....Help please!!! - You can do a factory reset from the Settings menu. To do a factory reset with Sony PC Companion, you have to flash the phone switched off, by using option - "repear my phone" - 02:06

My daughter has forgotten her Screen security pin on her Xperia M2 Aqua and having a hard time doing the other videos to unlock screen pin by downloading a software. Thankfully i came across your video as i´d rather download software from Sony and i wanna thank you big time for uploading this video because this one works wonderfully! launching in safe mode helps me reset. Just press and hold power button (so menu where it shows power off, take screenshot, ec.) and press and hold on the power off button it will show rebbot in safe mode, u click that, itll reboot, once powered on u go to settings, then to backup/reset, click reset tablet/phone and ur done.

Bridgette Wiggins In Xperia devices you can't enter Android System Recovery menu. If your device is connected to the internet and you have installed Google account on it, you can pass the screen lock with Adroid Device Manager: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-9yx_XGgrLVE.html If you haven't, then you can follow the instructions in this video and reflash the phone with Sony PC Companion, but this will delete your personal data!

One moment, this code is for retail mode. If you phone is in safe mode, just reset it from the reset button (under memory card cover) or press and hold the volume up and the power button for a long time. If you phone goes again in safe mode, you have a hardware problem with the volume buttons.

Mikko Mirano There is a small try under the SD card cover with the IMEI and the model number. It's strange, but I can not find this information in English. The picture in this manual can help you: support.sonymobile.com/bg/xperiaz3/userguide/IMEI-number/ Discription under the picture: 1. Open the SD cover. 2. With a pen or sharp object push the memory card and release it 3. Remove the SD card 4. Place a fingernail or a sharp object in the hole of the tray, then drag the tray outwards to view your IMEI, or model number.

Hello, thanks for the video; I forgot my locked code on my xperia ultra z. I installed pc companion and I ran update firmwire of the tablet/phone. It then said connect your tablet or phone. I connected it. It said intallation in progress and then "the memory is not accessible . The screen is locked." That why I am trying to solve... I need help please

Sana Khuraishi This is because you try to connect the phone powered on. Watch the video at 1:45. From "Support zone" option you can connect the phone powered off regardless of locked or not.

+Sara D'Arcy This is depending on your security settings. Can you recover your Google account? Otherwise you have to contact with Sony for new username or password. I think this is only for the new models. Which model is your Xperia?

When you connect the phone, switched off with pressed and held the volume down button, Windows must see a connected device. Open Device manager and check for SOMC flash device (or unknown device - if you have a problem with the driver). If not, try with another cable and other USB port. Also you can have a hardware problem with the Volume down button.

+leon akos Yes. Did you choose a right model Z1, I think there are 3 or 4 different Z1 models. Sony PC Companian is made by Sony company. I flashed many Sony devices with this program. The only reason for unsuccessful end is or you do something wrong or the phone has a hardware problem.

+makubix badboy If you have forgotten your password for decrypting the storage you can reflash the phone by using "repair my device" option, but you will lost all the information.

+Thando Sibiya I guess you connect the phone to the PC switched off as in the video. Check for the latest version Sony PC Companion or reinstall it. Try to disable your proxy or firewall. Try with another PC.

juan camilo rincon fajardo PC Companion include drivers for Xperia devices, but if for some reason Windows don't recognize your device, you must install this driver pack.
