Thank you so much , you did a great comparison and I was impatiently waiting for it. People think that it's the Z4 version and actually it's named Z4 only in Japan. There is one thing more I want to say, I'm using the Z1 Compact and I can't deny that I was so happy with it till the last Upgrade to Lollipop : - It Crashes a lot. - Overheat - The battery doesn't last long as it used to do... I'm wondering if the 5.1 version would correct these bugs or not. I'd like to thank you Guys one more time, you are doing a great work. Keep going :) Your channel is simply the best :)
Mohammed Belayati Awesome to hear you're enjoying the channel and sorry to hear about the Z1 Compact issues you're facing - hopefully the 5.1 update will sort them out.
***** Yeah compared to GS3 battery life is far superior. Last Saturday my gf also purchased Edge Plus. Even her battery life is great. The thing which impressed us both was, the fast wireless charging and super fast wired charging. The phone goes up to 100% in minutes. You have to make sure that you are using genuine Samsung charger only
Thanks Basil! I had no idea about the name, so good to know it will be releaed here in Europe! Though I definitely wish to have seen a more prominent upgrade of the Z3, so for me it's unfortunately not worth the upgrade.
1) Under heavy use(e.g. GPS, web browsing and a little gaming), how long does the battery last on the Z3+ in comparison to the Z3? 2) Does the Z3+ have a quick shooter(i.e. as quick as the Samsung Galaxy S6 or LG G3)? 3) Is the screen on the Z3+ visible in direct sunlight?
With the current selection of handsets looking so similar in looks and specs these days, it would have been cool if SONY had made their Z3+ an amazing music player, something SONY should excel in..
Hi Basil, sorry for commenting on an older video but I was wondering if the Sony Xperia z3+ still overheats? And if so, how badly? Thanks for the great video as always and please reply, hoping to get myself an Xperia very soon, even if it isn't the z3+ :)
do you think there will be another compact version coming soon? i have a nexus 5 and i cant imagine using a device any bigger then this. Im wondering if i i should just go for the z3 compact now or wait a few months for a newer COMPACT?
The Z3 Plus has similar stereo speakers design as the Z2. Are you able to test the sound difference between these 2 once you bought the Z3 Plus itself?
Just ordered 1 of these as an upgrade from original z, I know there's probably slightly better phones available but I've been a huge Sony fan since i had their original walkman as a kid. I'm sure I'll love it :-)
I dont have a smartphone right now, but I think of getting an Z3 because I dont think that the rather minor improvements of the Z3+ explain the price which is 300$ over the Z3. Do you agree?
hai..i just want to know whether the normal net browsing and social media usage will leed to overheating problems or not.if the temperature rise above 50 c during the time of using Camara?
nice overview. did i get it right? Z3+ can't be charged inductionally anymore? and is this a big con or was inductional charging not as good as it sounds? i also saw a clip where the user played via PS remote on his Z3. the phone was attached to the controller through the inductional slot. this won't be bessoble anymore, right?
ueber koenich the remote play function uses Bluetooth to connect to the ps controller and WiFi to connect to the ps4. Anything else is purely aesthetics
Thanks for the video . Just bought the phone as i smashed my z3 to bits today :( really loved it so will love the z3+ as well i believe. Oh and love that the charger now is at the bottom!!!
Ordered the Z3+ and got a Action Cam Mini with it, good thing is that the operator lets you change phone every year, so I can just upgrade to Z5 next year. Can't wait until 30th of June! (Coming from iPhone 6).
Nick Cooper Trust me I was not sure of buying the S6, but I did last Monday. I am coming from S3. The charging on the S6 is superfast, both wired and wireless. I got a free wireless charger along with it. The battery has never got below 50% for me. I work 9 hours I leave home with 100%, by the time I reach home battery is between 54 - 75% depending on usuage. I normally listen to music, browse a little and play games. The camera is simply superb, almost as good as G4. Everybody who sees my S6 is surely impressed by Samsung this time and so am I. Trust me you won't regret. The few bad things I found in S6 the earphone which comes along with it really sucks, the sound quality is pathetic and low. So I am using Razer Hammer Head Pro with it. 2) It is not waterproof. 3) Last was the memory card, but I got myself 64gb, which is more than enough for me. But trust me apart from that, the cell phone is a kick ass in every department... :') The S6 edge has 1 draw back tough, like if you are sitting in a room with light, which ever edge is at the top will give you tiny glare effect, thats due to edge on the top. So thats why I went for Standard S6. :')
Great thanks for the heads up, I never use the supplied headphones as they are normally pants. The only thing I'm not sure about is the touch whizz and bloat wear
Btekt Please compare the front firing speakers as u do so well. And please note if there r any differences btwn the cameras & battery life! Thanks in advance Basil!
eug3nius I feel the same, but since the USB port is now exposed I don't feel so bad, I like phones to be as waterproof as possible and wished all phones had a magnetic charging port
I own a z1 compact stuck on Android 5.0 as its last major update. It also has auto-rotate home screen hidden in the settings somewhere (to be honest, I forgot where exactly). I assume z3 would also be able to do that.
Naturally the z3+.. Slightly better design and specs. I'd wait for z4/z5 (whatever they call next true flagship) if you don't need to upgrade now though.
Otherwise, I would take the Z3+. It seems smoother, it has a wider selfie cam, the non-flaps are the biggest deal, I guess. Apart from that, I would wait until the review got out.
A. Smith They both seem pretty similar. For what I need it to do the Z3 seems like it'd be perfect. That and given it's roughly 130€ less than the Z3+ on Ebay.
I wonder why the menu slide and app running/closing on Z3 runs smoother than the Z3+ ? I have Z3 and Z3+ and i did compare them. But the Z3 still runs better in the menu ? Wtf..
I think it's pretty dumb they discarded magnetic/wireless charging, is that second exposed hole a dock slot for charging or ? I'm pretty disappointing with all current phones as they all have massive flaws, it's either no expandability or no wireless charging or something else is missing, it's almost they are taking away features to bring them back again later.
glad they kept the screen at 1080p. Hopefully Sony skips the 2K train and stay with 1080p for all devices with 6 inch screens or smaller. That should make things easier for the processor/graphics. And at 1080p it's pretty hard to see pixels, so an increase in resolution is simply WORTHLESS.
Btekt Actually Sony's one is better than the s6 they released a new one for Sony Xperia Z3+ ( Quick Charger UCH10) which let u charge for 10 minutes and use for up to 5.5 hours while Samsung's one let u charge for 10 minutes and use for up to 4 hours . Sony Quick Charger UCH10 : www.sonymobile.com/global-en/products/accessories/quick-charger-uch10/ Samsung's Quick Charge : www.samsung.com/uk/galaxys6/
Actually the Sony Xperia Z3v was the first Xperia without a magnetic charging port. It was dropped in favor of Qi charging. Which is much preferred by me... I hardly have to open my flaps anymore unless it's an emergency. My first Z3v died in water because the USB flap gasket came loose. And I thought I had it set back in right but I was wrong, lol. I'm so glad they went with a flapless design this time. But I'll probably never see this device with Verizon :(
I really loved my Z3V for the short time I had it and was afraid of that with mine. Although mine ended up going back for two primary issues 1) can't simultaneous talk and data when not on wifi and 2) It would get hot and shut itself down.
Andre Nathan Yes you can put a micro sd in it,both z3 and z3+ supports it. On the z3+ it is on the left side of the phone. The z3+ offers a much more brighter colour than the z3, it has light blue instead of light green and the frame of the phone is also much more shinier :)
They should have scrapped the current Z3 and released the Z3+ as the Z3 and release it when the upcoming Z3+ comes out - a much more meaning full upgrade over the Z2, but a minor one over the Z3
Hello ! First of all thank you for this video, but ..there is a little problem some screw "statement" about the z3 are wrong, for example the rotation of the home screen This function is also available on the z3 ^^ I can say this because I myself a z3. And finally I would say that the best is z3 because z3+ has some defects in the heating and heat dissipation. If you dont understand my "english " its normal because i'm french ^^
If they called this a Z4, I know for sure that a lot of people would be disappointed because of the fact that they barely changed anything. So does calling it a Z3+ instead of a Z4 justify the fact that its going to be their brand new 2015 flagship device, and that Sony didn't really do anything new?
It's not quite a year since they brought out the Z3, so its not going to be a fully new phone that soon after the last one, same difference between iPhone 5 and 5s probably.
"Performance won't be too different" The snapdragon 810 is three generations above the 801 ( counting the 805 and the 808) the ram may he the the same but that won't affect performance. The processor on the other hand will affect performance massively. Check benchmarks. The z3+ is going to be much faster than the z3.
I have the z 2 and was waiting for bigger battery. Such a shame to see them go the other way as the battery and waterproof is the only thing keeping me with Sony.
