I can not believe that you only have 167 subscribers. This video is excellent and you have a very comfortable and poised camera presence. Please make more vides. You have talent.
Yes, i liked very much too. I'm a professional film maker since 2000 and the script, text, shot, edit, video and sound quality is great. Congratulatiions Iro.
This was an awesome review, thank you!! From this video and others I've seen, it's a very close call and really hard to choose. Canon's in-camera audio is really not bad. But in my opinion, Sony's colors looked better. Sometimes the Canon made skin look overexposed and washed out. But Canon had better stabilization and looked better in low light. But Sony's autofocus was awesome. Gahh, I can't choose!! Can I get both?!
Awesome. This is the problem with RU-vid’s algorithm. They put all their energy in the same few RU-vidrs. Algo get stuck with Annie Dubbe channel and go crazy Promoting it. When you promote the same damn channel everywhere awesome creators like this channel doesn’t get chance to grow. This channel deserve much more subs. But YT algo think that only think media, Annie Dubbe should get all the views. Im an SEO expert and been chasing these algorithms for many yrs and I truly believe it’s flawed.
Hi again Vikas :) I know, it is really hard nowadays for people who are just starting with their channels on RU-vid as it is already saturated and big channels have dominated the platform! However, this should not prevent us from making our videos! It's great when you get nice comments like yours! It gives the energy to keep going! So, thank you 🙏
I just purchased the Canon G7X Mark II, I want to start shooting mini vlogs and I think its perfect for what what i need at this moment and in the future I would upgrade to 4k and mic input. Thank for the great content :)
Hi Diego! Thank you so much for your comment. I'm glad you enjoyed the video. I'm sure you will enjoy your new camera and best of luck with your vlogs :)
Wow! Extremely well done video! Loved the background footage as well. I’ve been looking into cameras for vlogging that can do some photography and cinematic video, while also being at a good price, of course! This video has definitely been very helpful, thank you so much!
Thank you very much for such an informative video with lots of examples! It really helped to see the main differences between the cameras. But it's even harder to choose because both seem to be great cameras
Hi Olga :) Thank you so much for watching the video and taking the time to leave a comment here ❤️ They are both really good cameras for their range. I think it all comes down to your budget and your priorities in terms of video. What you want to shoot, if you care about low light, audio etc. I hope you create nice videos with any of the two 😊😊😊
This is a touch choice. I really like the Canon's colors and they're about the same price in my currency now. The stabilization on Canon side is better too. But the deal breaker for me is the cool features on ZV1 like the defocus mode and the product showcase. I also need fast focus on Sony too. I'm just a casual guy who takes photos from time to time anyway. ZV1 might be the best choice for me. Plus, I love Sony! Thank you so much for the review! Now I have to find more information about the G7 series. It was no match with the RX series but for ZV1, it's very comparable. I've also heard that Canon uses Sony's 1.0" sensor here but it's older. Thanks again for the review and sorry for a long post. 😅
Hi Nin! No problem at all! I'm actually glad to get comments like yours! ;) I hope whichever camera you end up getting, you take some cool photos with it! Thanks so much for watching the video and taking the time to leave a comment.🙏😊🙏
Nice review. Thanks. I prefer the Canon for one reason. The screen pops up. With the sony. When you look at the screen. You are looking away from the lens. The Canon doesn't have this problem with the pop up screen
Very well done, Iro! My choice would be the Canon for what you get for your money- it's a good value. Yes, the Sony is very nice with the latest tech and lots O tricks up its sleeve, but unless you're a serious pro vlogger, I just can't justify that price. I also like the stabilization much better on the canon, even with the heavy cropping on the highest setting. Good luck with your channel and hope you get a bajillion subscribers!
This was a great review BUT I think it would have been made more sense to compare with the latest G7X mark iii which is the newest version to make it a more fair review.
@@IroLidorikioti Still thinking about it. I’ll talk to my parents bcs I want a camera so we can take family pictures and like vlogs, bcs we always travel and go out to places so I want a cheap and nice camera! Also thank you so much for this video it’s soo well edited and made!💕💕
Hi! I just found your channel today. I wish I found this videos before i purchased my G7x Mark II last week. But, you’re right. The G7x still takes great quality videos and photos. My only issue is the lack of mic jack.
The G7X MKII doesn't have a mic input, but that is easily resolved by purchasing an external mic + a separate cable that goes from mic to camera to the USB port. All for hundreds less than the ZV1. It's 2022 now and the fact that the G7X MK 2 is still so widely popular, is a testament to how great this camera truly is. They made it so good, people still prefer it over the Mark III. People get so caught up on specs they don't stop to consider whether they really need it. Take recording in 4k. The process is more time-consuming and expensive as it takes a lot of time to edit. Even storage may be a problem, as 4K videos take up a large amount of space- which can be fixed by buying external hard-drives. But will you have the money after buying a 4k camera? 🤣 The truth is a lot of us can't tell if we're watching YT videos in 4k or HD. I'll watch regardless of what it's recorded on if the content is good and the sound is decent. I'm not sticking around to watch solely because something was recorded in 4k if the content sucks.
Hi Suzi, thank you so much for your comment and for watching the video 😊😊🙏 I couldn't agree more with what you said! I am the one who always says that it's not about having a fancy and expensive camera but it all comes down to YOUR needs and what you plan to do with it. Obviously, the budget is also something that you need to consider. All I'm saying is that the equipment is there to help you and that you can do great things even if you don't have the fanciest one. You can even do beautiful things with a phone nowadays!🥳 I am a professional filmmaker/videographer and when I graduated from uni I started with a very affordable camera (Canon 600D). It took me years to gradually upgrade to the latest models with professional features as I started booking high-profile big clients and my needs changed!
G7X ii has superb color science and video stabilisation with faster lens. All that in a camera that's 5 years older than ZV-1. Amazing! Although it's 2022 i would still pick G7X ii over ZV-1.
Hi Adriano! Thank you so much for watching the video and for leaving a comment 😊 G7Xii is indeed a great camera and so many people still use it today after so long 📷
This was probably one of the best videos I found on this topic! Great job! Now I’m kinda sad cuz I just purchased the g7x mkll lol didn’t know that u couldn’t install a mic for that camera. Maybe I’ll return it & exchange it for the sony
Hi @phylisha! Thank you so much for your comment and for watching the video! The G7Xmkii is a great camera and it has to do a lot with what your budget is of course. I’m sure you can make some great videos with it. By the way, I’ve heard there is a “hack” you can do to add a mic to the G7Xmkii (haven’t tried it myself) but you can check it out on RU-vid. I’m pretty sure there are videos out there about that 😊I hope that helps!🌺🌸
I really like the Sony ZV-1. The Color grading looks incredible, I like how you can change the different futures. Your video was really informative and the fact that Sony includes the mic air filter thing. I think I will eventually buy the Sony camera
Hi Gridiron International! Thank you for your comment and your kind words! I’m very happy you found the video useful! I’m sure you are going to love the ZV-1 🥳🥳🥳
@@Set42 hi! It actually depends. There are different bundles when you purchase the ZV-1 (at least that was the case when I bought it) and I have a feeling that it is still the same. If you check this link (it's UK btw) you will understand what I mean! www.amazon.co.uk/Sony-Digital-Vari-angle-Vlogging-ZV1BDI-EU/dp/B088S2CNFC/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?dchild=1&keywords=zv-1&qid=1624793671&sr=8-1-spons&spLa=ZW5jcnlwdGVkUXVhbGlmaWVyPUEzM1VZNkFTRDI2RjlZJmVuY3J5cHRlZElkPUEwMDY0ODc4MkZVRUFIRjhMR1BPQyZlbmNyeXB0ZWRBZElkPUEwMDU0NDMxWEdPMUZEQVdGQVdPJndpZGdldE5hbWU9c3BfYXRmJmFjdGlvbj1jbGlja1JlZGlyZWN0JmRvTm90TG9nQ2xpY2s9dHJ1ZQ&th=1
The Canon g7x Mark 2 is rubbish. Would have been a terrific camera if cannon didn't bring out a faulty lens sensor. Cannon still charges top dollar for that camera and they're just pushing the fault onto consumers and no one is aware about it because no one's talking about it. Can cause hot pixels over the duration of time and can only be repaired by cannon. Is just a matter of time before your g7x mark 2 develops these symptoms don't say I didn't warn you's.
I know Sony offers a lot but I'm not so sure about construction quality. I had an expensive model, I will not mention which, and treated it like a princess, yet it managed to break inside its case all by itself, and the lens developed problems too. So now i stick to Nikons. Now I'm off to your channel : ) I'm still waiting from you to tell me who that singer is in that video about Black Box HG-2 hardware : )
@@peterpeper4837 I think you were just a bit unlucky with your Sony :/ I've been using Sony cameras for quite a few years now and I have to admit that I've never had any problems with them! They've proven to be extremely reliable! I believe Sony stepped up their game in 2015 when they released the Sony A7Sii, I think that this was a milestone for them and the camera world in general before that I've heard people having issues with Sony cameras...
Really helpful video thanks Iro -- I have the ZV1, but its not something I'd want to take out in public, especially with the monitor at the side... So am weirdly looking to maybe taking a step backwards, with a second hand G7X mkii! Thanks again!
Hi Neil! Thanks for watching the video and for your comment! 🙏🙏 I am very glad you found it helpful! I understand your concern - it’s always scary to take your good camera out in public. I’m sure you will be able to find a second hand G7X in excellent condition!
Excellent comparison! You deserve much more subs! I have a G7X II and will switch to the ZV-1 and have it as a companion to my Canon EOS M50 for all the benefits you mentioned in the video. One benefit however that you didn't mention was the 120 fps option (or even 960 fps option in burst mode) that the ZV-1 has in 1080P. That's what I'm really missing on my G7X II and my M50.
Thank you so much Jimmy! I really appreciate it! 🙏🙏 It’s true there are so many more features in these cameras! So little time in a youtube video though! I tried to mention as many as possible without making it very long 😊😊
Great comparison. I bought my G7X Mk2 online not realising that it DIDN'T have a mic input as I prefer to use a lav mic rather than inbuilt mics. I was a bit disappointed by that but other than that it's a very capable little camera..
Wow... very detailed review Autofocus: Sony ZV-1 Color Science: Canon G7X III Stabilization: Canon G7X III Low Light: Canon G7X III Features: Sony ZV-1 Image Quality: Sony ZV-1 (My personal preferences)
Hi Iro tht was a great comparison… thanks a lot. I love them both. But g7x is my dream camera but sony look great specialy in auto focus . just wanna ask if my content is all interior I mean at home so G7x will be good? Unboxing and hairtips like taking shower when im moving g7x will be great?
Hi Mama G, thanks for your comment and for watching the video 😊🙏 To be honest with you, you can make great videos with the G7X and it’s surely suitable for interior shots of the style you describe. But if have a bit more flexibility with your budget, you can make the extra step and get the Sony just because there are a few features that will make your shooting experience even better 😊 Eg the autofocus or the product mode that this camera has, little things here and there that will make it last longer as well 😊 Hope that helps. 😊
@@IroLidorikioti thnks for your reply. I got my g7x yesterday and i was very very happy ;) i just do my vlogs this afternoon and the videos look great. Thnk u again … sending u kiss 😘
Hi Aksh yeahh! Thank you for watching! I'm glad you liked the video! Definitely it's worth checking the ZV-1 out so you can make an informed decision ;) Go for what's best according to your needs! :)
Hi EvOmiKe! Thanks for watching the video! I agree with you it definitely beats the G7XmkIII! I think that the mkII was superior to the mkIII anyway in some aspects. Thanks for your comment. I hope you enjoyed the video! :)
I have the Canon g7x mark II and the missing microphone input is really limiting, so I was considering a replacement. The focus on the eyes sometimes get lost as well. I tried the mark III, but the focus was even worst. So I was considering the Sony ZV-1 for having this problems solved, but I saw I'm not prepared to give up the Canon colors and lighting, so I'm staying with my old and very good mark II. Thank you so much for the high-quality video! It was really decisive for me.
Hi there 🙋🏻♀️ I’ve never had any issues with the battery. Regarding the overheating issue, it has happened to me when I’ve pushed the camera to its limits e.g continuous shooting (two hours nonstop) in extremely hot weather. It’s very rare to happen!
Thank you so much for the most amazing and by far the most comprehensive comparison between the two cameras i have found on youtube and not to forget the quality of your video it is unbelievably enjoyable :)
Hi there 😊 If the mic input is crucial for you, then definitely the ZV-1 is your go to camera 😊 Thank you for watching and for taking the time to comment 🙏😊🙏
Ive heard that Sony VZ1 is comparable to Canon Mark III not II. Because of the 4K. But Canon MarkIII overheats when using in 4K mode. Not really sure if its true. But glad i found your video. Im actually looking on buying Sony myself. Still contemplating about it. But been watching reviews in comparison of these 2 said cameras.
Hi Anacel! Thanks for watching the video :) I understand what you’re saying but I don’t own a G7XmkIII so I couldn’t do a video like that I’m affaid :) However, as you mention too, I haven’t heard very good comments about the G7XmkIII. It seems to have quite a few issues…The mkII though, I can guarantee that it’s s a great camera for its range, as I’ve used it extensively for RU-vid video shoots in the past :)
@@IroLidorikioti the samples that youve taken between Sony & Canon in this video specifically the stability I give it to your G7x MkII and clarity is almost similar.
I sold my g7x II.. you missed an important point. I don't know about the Sony but the Canon has a problem in that the lenses aren't sealed. Dust gets in easily and is extremely hard to remove... You will end up with dust and small hairs on the elements.. one reason why I sold it. The other is no microphone input.. It's a shame Canon didn't do a better job
ZV1 looks good! I have a fuji Xt3 with 5 lenses and have been looking for a camera for travel or casual shooting. Thanks for this amazing comparison video.
Aaawww that’s so kind of you SIN VLOGS! Thank you very much for your nice words! I really appreciate it! I’m really glad you enjoyed the video too! 😊🙏😊
What is your input on the a6400 and the Sony zv1 ? As far as color science and such. I noticed that the Sony zv1 colors look more vibrant can they Sony a6400 achieve similar colors ?
Hi expressivelyFi! Thanks for your comment :) I haven’t tried the Sony a6400 to be honest with you so I can’t be sure about this. However, I own the a6600 and I know for sure that you can achieve great colours with that one as well. You also have a variety of different Picture Profiles if you are into colour grading! I’ve done shoots using both the ZV-1 and the a6600 and they easily match colour wise :) I hope that helps.
@@IroLidorikioti Thank you! I am so new to the camera game and am trying to figure out color grading for youtube videos without to much light or to much darkness, I assume the zv1 comes already set in colors for the pp colors.
Actually you just gave me an idea for a video :) Haha! The ZV-1 also offers the Picture Profiles! I’m sure you will be happy with any of the two regarding the colour. The main thing to consider is your budget and whether you want a camera that is compact and has it all (like the ZV-1) or a camera for which you also need to invest some money on lenses etc. I would think more about that ;) I hope it helps :)
You mean on the Stabilisation modes? Many people got pretty disappointed when the ZV-1 came out because of this :) For me it’s not such a big issue but I guess depends on what you want to do 😊
Hi Marina, I'm sure you can do great indoor videos with both cameras. Check out the Low Light Performance Part of the video to see how they both perform when there is not enough light (which might be the case when shooting indoors if you don't have a ring light for example). I have personally shot indoor videos with both and I think that they are both very good :) I hope that helps :)
Hi Theresa! Thanks for your comment! It depends what software you are using for post production. Usually there are built in plugins in each programme that help with that. I personally work on the audio using a separate software called iZotope RX. It’s the best of its kind!
