I primarily use the ZV-E10 with a Sigma 18-50 2.8 lens for family movies and photos, as well as for some professional work. The camera's stabilization could be significantly better, so I usually record without any in-built stabilization and then apply corrections in post-production using Catalyst Browse/Prepare (~10% crop). This approach also greatly helps in mitigating the rolling shutter and/or jelly picture issues. I've never encountered overheating problems, even when shooting longer clips in summer temperatures reaching over 35 degrees Celsius in the shade. The small battery size can be a limitation and it is a pain in the butt, but with a power bank, I'm able to record around 5 hours of 4K@25 footage. More concerning issues for me are the poorly designed user interface, the limitation to 8-bit video, issues in dark scenes with movement (due to keyframe interval), slow-motion capabilities restricted to 1920p, and 720p resolution in webcam mode. Unfortunately, these are issues that can't be easily addressed.

Hey. Thank you for your comment. You are right. In some situations you can solve these issues. The 8 bits recording is not an issue in my opinion, is just a next level feature that you will receive for more money :)) And the slow motion the same. It will be nice to be, be you know you need to pay more for it :D But yeah, I managed to make great content like you with ZV-E10 without problems. Great camera for this price. Thank you for your feedback.

for stabilization we can use catalyst browse from sony and double the shutter speed from the normal ones, for example, if we shoot 4K 25 fps, we can set the shutter speed to 1/125 second
@GabrielVIP
@GabrielVIP 6 месяцев назад
Hey! Yes, that's a solution. The only downside of Catalyst Browse is the time you spend to rander the footage. But the result is great most of the time. Thank you!

That dummy battery setup works well but if you powerbank with enough power, you can plug that into the camera usb port and it slows down the battery depletion a lot. I recorded over 90 minutes in 4K 25fps this way.
@GabrielVIP
@GabrielVIP 6 месяцев назад
Hey! Yes. You can do that and is perfect. The only downside is if you are in a hot environment it can overheat faster. But most of the tine is ok. Thank you for your feedback :)

"Just put the camera down for a second, it's OK!" I'm LOL. Sir, you're right, but shoving a tripod on a park bench like that - not a best practice. Your videos are among the very best in your category. Thank you, you have made a difference for me.

I've used this camera for almost a year now and i have never had any overheating problems and there is almost no rolling shutter, ive done festivals with this camera lasting over 5 hours with no problems using a powerbank and a usb c cable. This camera is a beast and with a bit more budget for a better lens and a zhijun crane m3 pro for example your gonna get amazing footage out of it.

Hey. Thank you for your feedback. In some situations on a gimbal the rolling shutter is not a problem most of the time. I had overheating at a confference when I shot for two hours in 4k, inside a hotel. But yes, if you know how to use it, you are ok. I agree with you! Is a budget setup and with a minimum investment you can achieve great, great quality. The most important thing is to learn how to use it and maximize everything. Thank you for your comment :)

Hey bud. This is my camera based on so many great reviews of it. I honestly don't think these "issues" are fully valid for this camera. Rolling shutter - if you're swinging your camera like that to cause that much deformation then you have no business filming or making videos. That is so amateur and any person with any experience making videos will never swing a camera like that. So its a non issue. Stabilization - get a gimbal. Solved. Or use Catalyst Browse. Free stabilizing software from Sony that fixes all unstable video with ease. Over heating - with that setting put at high, the camera never overheats anymore unless you are adding more heat to it externally like filming next to a vent! Small battery - use a dummy battery that plugs right into the wall - never run out if power....if out use your setup or a usb power bank. Now more importantly, i see you upgraded your mic to the Electrovoice RE 320. What are you recording into and what are your settings and processing on the audio? I use the same mic for my podcasts so curious with your audio setup now!

Hey :) Welcome back my friend. I 100% agree with you. Every time I recommend ZV-E10 people say: bad, rolling shutter, no stabilisation and small battery. This is why I made this video, to prove that ZV-E10 is a great camera despite all these "issues". I exaggerated a little bit with the movements because many beginners don't know how to hold a camera and make smooth moves and they say: the camera is bad :)) Of course we can do great content with it. They don't know about the overheating setting on High and just say: the camera is bad and the battery is small. I wanted to prove that these are not issues and we can do great content with ZV-E10. Of course, in some situations maybe we need something more, but for content creation, social media and talking heads, the camera is great. Yeah! I really like RE320. Is exceptional on y voice. I record using an Audient ID24 interface. I record directly in Davinci and I use some plugins from Waves. I use an EQ, an a little bit of Expander, R-Vox for compression and a limiter. Nothing fancy but I really like how good the sounds is with RE320 for my voice. Thank you!

Hi there! Great content, subscribed! I'm in Canada and trying to decide between ZV-e10 ($900) and A6700($1900) for RU-vid language teaching - pretty simple video content (indoors) (with Sigma 16mm). I have lights and sound already. Any suggestion on which one I should go for? Many thanks.

Hey bro. Booth are great cameras. For Talking Head videos you don’t need more than ZV-E10 but if you can afford it and like a6700, is great. This one is newer and has some new features but for talking head videos you are not going to use them. I would do this: If you plan to do just talking head videos with camera on a tripod go with ZV-E10. If you plan to do travel or vlogs in the future, go with a6700. You are not going to feel much difference for teaching. Thank you!

Thanks so much Gabriel. I've been binge watching your content so it's so nice to actually hear from the guy I've been binge-watching. I love your advice and will follow it. I'm a musician so I'm vulnerable to splurging on gear (a6700), and your comment is helping me make the right decision for my use-case (Zve10). Thank you! @@GabrielVIP

If a budget camera without issues exists, why expensive camera exists? 😂😂😂 Is really about what you need. Next week I will release e guide for those who want to choose a camera. A badget camera will allways have some problems in some areas. If you don’t walk, run, or things like this, ZV-E10 is great.

Rolling Shutter 40% Crop In Weak Battery. These issues are acceptable for the price given how insanely stupid expensive Sony cameras are Also what's this about Overheating? Had my ZVE-10 since last year shoot for Long without experiencing any kinda overheating
@GabrielVIP
@GabrielVIP 6 месяцев назад
Hey. Totally agree with you! For this price, is a best buy. Overheating is not bad, but is there for some situations. I had this problem at a confference for example, but is something rare if you use that setting on High. When I recommend this camera people say: ooo, bad! Rolling shutter, bad stbilization, overheating bla bla… and I made this video to prove that all these problems can be solved and more importantly, when and how you use camera is more important. Thank you :)
