Trouble is, if you have any Sony camera within the last decade at least you’re going to be able to take great images. So the need to spend anything upgrading is really hard to justify. RU-vid channels make us feel we need to do this every month but in the real world with bills and mortgages we really don’t need to. We should make more of what we have.

I'd disagree with your premise. There have been a lot of advances in sensors, materials, optics, and processing. To many people, perhaps even those you nonconsensually dragged into your Royal We peppered statement, those are worth spending on. You just quietly do what works for you and stop pretending to be the thought leader about what others should or should not do with their time or money. Capisce?

Great review! Seems like a nice lighter option than the zve1 with a giant full frame lens. Nice sunglasses too, are you liking those, I've been wanting to pick up a pair :)

Thanks for showing the Catalyst Browse option for stabilization. In addition to in-camera adjustment, I wish Sony would collaborate with Apple, Adobe and BlackMagic to get the gyro data into NLE's.

You can use DaVinci Resolve's "Camera Gyro" setting to use stabilization data embedded into Blackmagic footage to smooth out the shots. It may be worth testing the Camera Gyro setting with Sony footage. I haven't tried that, yet. But, it may work.

I come with 900 GB to 1.3TB of captured materials from a few weeks of motorcycle travels! Sure, 50 to 80GB might be pictures but please ask Sony to tell me how many years will Catalyst Browse add to my editing workflow? But untill that, ask them WHY should I carry interchangeble lenses when the quality is maybe 20% better then an Pochet 3? Why should I spend thousands of euros for this ZV E2 when the Pocket 3 is half the price and ready to go? And better yet, it already started to hit the used market having decent prices! Sony is just unrealistic and completly disconnected from the real camera needs we all have!

Great review as always. I was wondering how’s the performance as a still camera, especially with that lens. Due to the lack of pocket travel cameras (at least “cheap” ones”) it could be a potential light camera to bring around.

I was really waiting for this camera. I sold all my full frame gears including the bodies, lenses, flashes and triggers. I was looking for a very cheap all in one good camera and thr zve10 seemed like a good option but it was too old and lacked a few things. This will be perfect for me. Thanks for the review.

@@laurenoe Looked at that too but it's a bit expensive where I am from. Financial situation is not the best right now but need a camera within the next few months. For the price of the 6700, I can easily find an a7iii which is full frame but that opens up another pandoras box. the zve10 ii will be priced around 1000$ with the kit lens in my country which is already 200$ more than what I intended, so.

As the owner of the FX30, the ZVE10ii may work as a b-cam. I mainly film YT videos and narrative work. So, overheating may not be an issue for me. If you shoot interviews and long videos, then the mark ii may not be a good choice.

In Catalsyt Browse you have to do it one by one. In Catalsyt Prepare (which is the paid version) you can do batch and export multiple images.

The a6700 is the better pick. I personally only need it for video as a content creator so it works for me. I don’t need the mechanical shutter. The stabilization it has looks good. I rarely use evf

If you are looking the 6700 then you should be looking fx30 on sale. We'll if you are looking at the fx30 you should consider the zv-e1 when it's on sale too. So many choices! It's a great time to be alive!

It s ok, but not a camera worthy of the beach intro. I have high expectations about the next a7sIV and also the a7V. After watching every single video you upload, for many years now, I ve got myself the a7III after your review, then the a7IV. Your reviews are the most trustworthy and honest out there. Keep it up! 400 under the MSRP of the 6700 seems like a fair value. I just wish they stopped using the 'vlogging' label for a model line with no IBIS. It inevitably draws people completely new to cameras thinking that you can just effortlessly walk and talk with it like it's a Pocket 3; who use active stabilization and wonder why the results are so jello-ey when they use a 180 degree shutter like all the introductory videography tutorials instruct you to. 'Content creator line' is a bit more in line with 2024 and its actual strengths.

For stabilization with the original ZV-E10 I prefer using a small gimbal, but the new OSS kit lens is surprisingly useful. BTW, what is the word that sounds like 'horshekala' you use at the end of each video? I obviously do not understand the spelling because I cannot find it on a Google search.

@@artistjoh Yes, actually, up until 10 years ago, he was publishing his videos in Turkish in this channel, than he started publishing Turkish videos on another channel and made this channel English. He was using that 'hoşçakalın' ending in each Turkish video and he kept that part even he switched to English :)

At the 10min mark, you mentioned that this camera does not have APS-C crop at 4k/60, but only a 6% crop. But isn't this camera already an APS-C sensor? I am confused. So this is cropping 6% into the already small APS-C Sensor correct? So its actually not a good thing with an additional 6% crop of an already small APS-C sensor.

Its a 1,1x crop. No camera does full width 4k60 actually ( other than xh2s , z6iii and cinema cameras or specialized cams)

@@JJARCHIE I understand, but I think he mis-stated and was thinking this was a FF camera as he said its only 6% crop and doesn't crop down to the smaller APS-C like some cameras. I think it makes it really confusing and makes some viewer can mistake this for a FF camera.

@@aquinoj99 I'm talking dying to low battery at 4K60. Saw the review by Gerald Undone and under direct sunlight it overheated in 11mins at 4K60. Then again I'm not sure how effective the cooler is.

I bought Sony ZV-E10L 4 months ago and i don’t need to change it to ZV-E10 II. Yes battery is better then first gen but i am using 20K Samsung power bank with dummy battery and it’s give me a better performance than W or Z battery. Yes i know it’s heavy but i am using my camera with a rig so it’s not a problem for me and it’s not giving a overheating after taking 2 hours of shooting with it.

@@JJARCHIE well according to the reviews zv-e10 I doesn’t overheat and record without problem until it battery’s dead. iPhonedo did review it and says no overheating problem. Zv-e10 gets 1 update since that day and the update relased when the camera released to last users. If you think i am wrong watch the review of ZV-E10 I from iphonedo. Btw i am not saying iphonedo is a bad tech reviewer, i am trying to say there is no need to change if you have zv-e10 I if you shoot 4K30.

The overheating is unacceptable. It's funny to see YTers go "ah my camera overheated" always the first gen of this camera. The fact that it's not a 1 hour recoding time for 1080P 30fps/ 30-45 min for 4k 30... Is unacceptable. Bigger standard battery is good. For $1000+ no active stabilization is also unacceptable.

I don't know if you saw my ZV-E1 video but it is the only video in my entire youtube adventure that I told people to go buy. It is something I never say. So I agree, and I'm with you 200% about ZV-E1. But here is the thing, many people don't like ZV-E1. So opinions change from one to another. However, the material, the buttons and upgrades are remarkable. This is why it looks like they're taking this line more seriously now. Which is a great news for me about ZV-E1 II. Or we can just be grumpy about cameras all the time :))
