Yes. So very yes. I follow a travel RU-vid channel called Clair's Footsteps. She's often out of focus, waves the camera around at the end of a shot and has wind noise but she goes to interesting places and talks about them. The kit doesn't get in her way. Buddy Holly's last recordings were done in a NYC apartment on a domestic tape recorder. Still sounds great. Sounds even better without the over dubs. Bo Diddley could play a whole song on one chord. Sounds good to me. Pretty much any camera is good enough these days. The best one is the one you have with you.

I 100% agree with you! Right now there's a group of kids in their parents basement with iPhones creating content that going to get millions of views! They aren't worried about white balance, exposure settings or anything technical. All they know is that they want to make something funny or interesting! Like you said, the BEST camera for that is the one they have! Thanks for commenting and thanks for watching! 👍

LoL! Yes the ZV-E10 is a powerful little camera. Sure it has it's shortcomings but most if not all of them can be overcome with accessories and filming techniques. Thanks for watching and supporting the channel and thanks for leaving positive feedback!

I think the problem you’re bringing up here, people buying gear but not using it, isn’t just limited to the creator space. I see this everywhere, and not just recently. People buy gym memberships and don’t go, people buy fancy kitchen machines and they collect dust in the cupboard. In the 80’s it was fondue machines, in the 90’s it was pastamakers. In the 20’s? Camera gear. People fall in love with this «idea» of *being* a creator, or vlogger, or influencer - but they aren’t really interested in creating things, cause it’s loads of work, learn the camera, learn editing, learn to tell a story, learn color grading, learn to choose angles, learn to talk to the camera. Same with photography. Lots more people *like* the idea of being able to do something, but don’t want to spend the time *doing* the thing. They like to *talk* about it, cause it makes them interesting to others, but then they move on to buy and talk about another thing. For me it was the opposite when it came to youtube, I spent a lot of time figuring out why I needed to know and how to do it, and then I started making videos, pushing the stuff I had as far as I could, discovering I *needed* a mic, so I got a videomic go 2, nothing crazy but good enough. Then I found out I needed to be able to move around while filming and talking to do some of the things I wanted to do, so I got the dji mic 2 smallest combo - and made a video about it which is ny most viewed video now closing in on 2k views. I’m still using my DIY keylight and softbox I built last year from some 2x4’s, a construction site panel led light with no dimming or color temperature setting and cardboard and aluminum foil. Now I’m at the point where the light is partly holding me back, I need to move it around more in the workshop to film different angles, but it’s threatening to topple over everytime I move it - but instead of buying a proper 500 USD video light I bought some caster wheels today to build a rolling platform to put it on. At some point I will *need* a proper adjustable video light with temperature settings, but not yet. But most people won’t do what I’ve done, they’ll just buy loads of gear, use it for a while, come up empty on ideas and move on to something else they think would be «cool». But this is how it’ll always be, most people really just can’t be bothered to out in the effort over time :/

I agree with what you said! I think your approach is a more organic approach to creating content. You are creating content because you "have something to talk about". You didn't decide you wanted to make content.. buy the gear.. then figure out what it's going to be about. I also believe that those who truly WANT to create will always have that desire. I just see too many people becoming uninspired because the POWER of social media is MUCH bigger and stronger than ever! There used to be a few channels or magazines you could look at and those articles or commercials would try to sell you things. Now you have THOUSANDS of people "who look and live just like me" telling me I NEED to get this thing to be relevant... when all I need is a modern camera and some great ideas! Thanks for watching and thanks for supporting the channel!

@@PurposedLensPhotoMedia That is very true, the saturation level, both in terms of how many people create content, as well as the amount of product pushing, is insane compared to just 10-15 years ago. At the same time there is a mismatch between the amount of people who create «works of art» to a certain degree, and people creating content about the tools one uses to create works of art. For every person who shoots portrait photography there hundreds and thousands of people who create content purely about the gear used, without not really being able to shoot a proper portrait, and there are way fewer people doing actual vloging than people creating content about *how* to vlog and what gear to use, and even more people aspiring to *be* a vlogger, but never get further than creating content about how to and what gear to use, because good vlogging is also hard and it’s easier to make content about how to and make money off of it rather than being a good vlogger. And I think, to a certain degree, that those two larger groups are the main reason for there being such a large group of people feeling uninspired, because even though every one of them *could* have succeeded, they don’t really *want* it enough, they might *say* they want it, and maybe even *think* they want it, but ultimately the drive isn’t there - the *important* part about that last bit though is that it *isn’t* black or white, either you’re a pro creator or not is not the situation. But people *think* that is the way it is, and then, instead of being inspired to create something from seeing good work they become uninspired because they have unrealistic views on how hard (or easy) creative work should be, and those unrealistic views usually come from over-consumption of social media. The paradox is of course that a lot of these people, when good enough to create things, will then be dependent on social media to spread their work … I remember «back in the day», around the late80’s and 90’s, DTP, Desk Top Publishing was the BIG THING. Common Computers where becoming fast enough to run graphic design packages and print layout packages, and the DESKTOP PUBLISHING REVOLUTION was coming, every company had some sort of package packed with clipart and fonts and layout tools, and the pitch was that NOW EVERYONE CAN PUBLISH THEIR OWN NEWSPAPER OR NEWSLETTER - Family newsletters to publish on the fridge, a small «newspaper» to publish in your neighbourhood or part of town, ANYONE could publish and it would be the death of publishing and newspapers and magazines as we knew it and the news on paper and tv where full of stories about this. many tried, few succeded, most quit after a short time, but they didn’t quit because social media was there to kill their vibe, but because it was hard and took time. Then the internet happened … Blogs where gonna SLAY the print media in the 2000s. Personal blogs with real stories took off, blogs about topics and themes took off, the personal publishing revolution was here. Many tried, most stopped. But again, not because of social media which wasn’t really a thing yet, but because it was hard work. Then youtube happened … and the cycle repeats … Now I’m not saying that EVERYONE that don’t feel inspired because of all the gear push and success stories in social media are lying or making excuses for not wanting to create, the marketing push is *real* and harder than ever, but as history shows: for every new thing that comes along many will try, many will figure out it’s not for them, and for most it won’t be because of external reasons like social media. I purposefully didn’t use the word «fail» in the last sentence, because trying something means you learn, and learning is good, and can always come in handy later - so learning, trying, doing is always a good thing, no matter if you pursue it to the end or not, but quiting is ultimately ones own choice, no matter the reason.

Make due with what you have and become better because of it. This philosophy applies to everything; the best tool doesn't necessarily lead to anything special unless there's substance behind it. I appreciate your openness, glad I randomly found your channel while youtubing reviews for this camera. I'm now inspired to create something

The only footage I ran through CB was 4 shots when I was panning around the mic. I handheld the camera and just wanted it to not take focus away from seeing the mics. All other shots were on a tiny tripod. 1.) Opening scenes + gym were all on tiny tripod 2.) Standing in front of the vehicle was small tripod 3.) Driving scene was handheld with OSS enabled. 4.) All other scenes were on tripod. Thanks for watching and thanks for sharing your journey! It can be VERY difficult to STOP watching gear stuff once you get in the groove! It has happened to me MANY times! Thanks again for watching and commenting! 👍

just my humble 2 cents: You should have stopped the video and gone into your outrout around time stamp 5:58, Why you ask? That was the perfect balance to the message you were trying to convey in your video. Lastly, I do agree with you 100%, yet after seeing another infomercial after time stamp 5:58 your message (To me) just felt apart. I repeat your message is on point it was just the execution that come off a bit hypocritical. Mean that with all respect sir.

You absolutely can! It’s 100% understanding composition, lighting and exposure settings. It’s MUCH less to do with the kit lens itself and MORE to do with knowing how to use it! Pick up your camera everyday and shoot! Shoot EVERYTHING as much as you can. The more you do that, the better you get! I wish you nothing but the very best! Thanks for watching! 👍🏾

*I'm a Gear and I'm not ashamed of it, I just love tech BUT that being Said, I love my FX30 and My ZV-E10 because I love making videos on them and I'm not going to cine levels of video I just like love them, I also my DJI Osmo Action 4 because I can bring it anywhere along with my Dji Mic2. But Living in Alaska there isn't much in the way of Tech unless ya love nature and hiking, Neither of which I care for, BUT I do love vlogging as I try too with my Osmo Action 4, But as It gets warmer here I do more, but yeah to me Gear doesn't matter in the sense that you don't need to spend A7S III or FX3 Money but the ZV-E10+11mm Lens is Perfect for vlogging out doors and the 16mm Sigma for head video neither which will break the bank. To Me vlogging isn't dead, it' s just people need to stop thinking they need the best or Ultimate to vlog*

Well shot video; I liked the different angles, the slowly zooming out, the forest. I can now see a bit of the Vuhlandes influence in your style after checking out some of his work. Not copying though, just more his advice and lessons applied. I'm guilty of buying gear and not using it - yet. I'm a busy man, priorities are what they are, but my schedules gonna shift soon and I'm excited to finally, finally be able to put some time into making hopefully interesting content 😎 I'll say this much, when I'm buying gear or learning film technique I'll go through camera channels like my cat goes through kibbles if unrestrained. Then I buy the stuff or learn the thing and never visit said channels again. But not you man, you generate content of substance. I still go back to some of your other videos to keep me inspired and remind myself that this is something I still want to pursue. As always, thanks 👍

I actually like the look the kit lens gives. It's not too sharp and it has a vintage vibe to it. I noticed the focus changing AFTER I shot it.. I accidentally tapped the screen and made it focus on the trees instead of me when I was moving the camera. I was waaaaaay too lazy to re-record it though.. so I let it fly! I am happy that we have so many inexpensive options to choose from. Your review was good, and I enjoyed your message. As for my microphone set, I have a Comica BoomX-D Pro. I really like that I can record audio internally. I don't have to worry about lost signal, and I can use them with either my phone or my camera. I synch audio using Davinci Resolve. Sometimes, like you do in your video. I use the Comica as a USB-C microphone. The receiver plugs into my computer USB-C port, and the transmitter goes on me. The computer recognizes the microphone as a USB-C microphone. Just like you show, I guess. There are so many uses.

You are correct! There are SOO many ways to get what we need that there's really no reason we can't create. I reviewed another Ryms mic (follow the link below) a while back that has the ability to record internally as well! It's always a nice option to have! Having the pc recognize your mic as an audio source is SOO beneficial in MANY aspects! Thanks for taking the time to watch and thanks for leaving positive feedback! @@PurposedLensPhotoMedia Thank you for the nice reply. Beginning content creators (RU-vid or whatever else) can do so much with these microphones. Most needent worry about other microphones unless they have some specific reason. They can stop watching Sure SM7B videos. I've also been impressed at how Davinci Resolve (and other free software) can clean up or enhance audio.
