i don't think there will be another singer like Marie in future, Marie was an incredible artist which was able to turn every kind of song into mastepieces with her unique voice. Sleeping in my car was and stil is one of my favourites
Fun story, the record label told Per that the album (Crash! Boom! Bang!) didn´t have a song that was good enough to be the first single. And so Per got a bit angry by that statement from the record label and he went back to his house and wrote "Sleeping in my car" that afternoon. :D
The guy who does the guitar riff is a guy called Jonas Isacsson. And the drums are by a drummer from the start who died a year after Marie called Pelle Asling. But yeah this song kicked ass.
This was the first song I heard from Roxette, on a music billboard back in '94, I was 14, and I remember it really blew my mind, I fell completely in love and I went out to buy the record, then I listened to the whole Crash! Boom! Bang! and I couldn't stop listening to it, I didn't know much English at that time, but I made the attempt, albeit mediocre, to translate their songs to know what they were saying because that was my obsession haha, I started to buy their previous albums, and I realize that I had already listened to other songs that I didn't know belonged to Roxette, such as "Spending My Time" or "It Must Have Been Love", "Listen To Your Heart", so I loved them even more and they became the Swedish Duo of my lifetime. They gave me good taste in music when I was just a kid, a precious gift for a young person who is just discovering music. This Era is really sad, in my opinion, because kids nowadays discover Reggaeton and Trap, with obscene lyrics that denigrate love and especially women, a real shame. Those of us who grew up listening to and loving the music of the 80's and 90's are truly fortunate.
I loved this song when i was a kid. Altough i didnt get the real message of the song, i tought it was all abaut sleeping in my car zzzzzzz after a party or because you were tired 😂😂😂
the first single from Crash! Boom! Bang! wrote last minute for the album. Video filmed in London along with other videos Crash! Boom! Bang! and Fireworks also filmed in the UK. Check out You Don't Understand Me, fantastic song, video also filmed in the UK
This is still such a great catchy song. The melodies of I'm sorry, What's she like and Love is all are probably my faves from the album. And the piano in I'm sorry... Goosebumps 👌
Yeah Anton, the Sleeping in my car's beat is insane. A song that anyone can listen to again and again. The first CBB single and the Last one Per wrote. So.. You can react to June afternoon, a catchy and funny song too. At this point, you are a Roxette's fan, arent you? . Welcome to the club😉🙋👏
I remember getting my first Music centre with a CD player in the 90's. Was allowed to pick 2 CD's to come with it! Was so young I had no clue about any names. Si I find a weird looking cover full of spaghettis and then this one that say... Ros...Rok.... Roschett(ee) (couldnt even pronounce it lol). The other CD I hated. But man this stayed with me ever since that day :D I can still remember specific book that I read while listening to Roxette tracks.
I am sure that "Anyone" will be one of the best reactions of Anton altought i think that "Sleeping in my car" is another rock masterpiece by Roxette which will always be legendary -
And this was the song that made me a Roxette fan in 1995🥰Once a Roxette fan, always a Roxette fan. Thank you for Roxette reviews, keep them coming please❤❤❤❤
I hope you can do someday "She Doesn't Live Here Anymore", it has a similar vibe with the guitars and drums...

When Roxette finished "C!B!B!" album, the record company thought that it was ok but something was missing. Per was really upset, went back to his house and in only 2 days this song was written and recordered, and replaced "Fireworks" as first single. By the way, you should see "Sleeping in my car Live in Buenos Aires 2012", we, the audicence, sang "ooh ooh oooh..." for the riff: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-0dbsjT4CCmg.html
I hate that Marie left us so soon. Her voice is just mesmerizing...beautiful. The "music Gods" brought Per and Marie together. Per continues to write wonderful music under PG Roxette. Marie is irreplaceable, but Per carries on. Lately, I've been listening to "Sunflower" a lot. Can't get that song out of my head.
This song took time to resonate with me for some reason. I always liked it and enjoyed the more rocky elements which I know they’re capable off. The more musically informed I got the more I loved it over the years. I love the middle 8 breakdown it’s beautiful. I enjoyed your air drums because that’s exactly how I woulda reacted 😆😆
It’s a real shame, as SIMC was getting great reviews and radio playback in the US, when EMI USA imploded and barely released it there, let alone promote it.
A few years ago a friend of mine was over visiting from Sweden and when he saw the license plate on my bike that says ROXETTE which he got a kick out of that then a few seconds later my phone rings, my ringtone happens to be Sleeping in my car! his reaction was priceless.
Hello friend, how are you? This one has a more punk vibe. But I'm always here asking you to go back to Roxette's beginnings and react to "Call Of The Wild" and "From One Heart To Another". Also on their most successful album that was Joyride to react " Things Will Never Be The Same " and " The Sweet Hello, The Sad Goodbye " and the beautiful " The Rain " and " Silver Blue " from the Tourism Album. Discover how much Roxette has stunning ballads. Put these songs on the list please.
Oh dear, love you Anton! What passion you give in these reactions! You have much more Roxette gold to react to. Queen of Rain Wish I Could fly Stars Anyone Milk and Toast and Honey ... ..
It hit the top two in Sweden, Denmark, Finland, and Canada. I remember watching the Billboard charts in the US and was so disappointed when it only managed to reach #50 when it did so well here in Canada. What the hell!
¡¡¡¡Thank you so much for reacting to this song, it's one of my favorite Roxette songs!!!! If you can, react to these songs by this wonderful group:How Do Yo Do! ; The Rain; Here Comes the weekend; Hotblooded And for your Spanish fans, I would love you to react to India Martinez with Vanesa Martin "arráncame" or the group Amaral....
Sleeping in my car was the last song recorded for cbb and became the first single. Please, I wish I could fly. great song. thank you for your reactions to videos of ROXETTE.
A song I'd probably put as one of their weaker songs released as a single, but I dont mean bad as I cant honestly say I have heard a bad song until last album when a lot of songs were to electro for my tastes. But if you like this one you'd probably also like She Doesn't live here anymore which was same style but I found much stronger composition wise. and if you really wany upbeat rock try June Afternoon, which was styled on Beatles style.
Funny, hearing this made me go back to my mix-CD files that I have on a USB drive in my latest car because this is completely unfamiliar to me. Apparently, back in the day I decided to add a remix of this instead of the original (the Sparks remix). It omits most of the guitar, goes heavy on the bass, and uses different vocal cuts - it's way more energetic to me with a way better vocal. This feels a bit underpowered to me in comparison. Interesting to be reminded of the original version though!
Love this song, however it doesn't seem to be long enough!!!😂 If you like this check out, She doesn't Live here Anymore💖 As always thank you for you reactions👍
That's also a great one from Roxette!❤️ I recommend you the song ' you don't understand me' . Different, but great aswell. Check it out, if you want to...😉🙋🏼
