The Red Sox took on the best team in Major League Baseball at this game -- the Philadelphia Phillies, and it went exactly how you might expect. Zack Wheeler was dominant. Kyle Schwarber turned the night into his personal Home Run Derby. And I was running all over the place trying to catch baseballs.
How was batting practice? What did Bryce Harper and Rafael Devers do? Why was there a party atmosphere in the concourse before the game? There was all kinds of action at Fenway, and as always it was great to be there.

Green monster seats are kinda like minute maid park left field seats. Most balls go over the seats, its hard to catch baseballs their, adds knock balls back on the field.

I love how you catch balls for the love of the game and give them to kids. I remember getting my first baseball at a game and after we were able to get it signed by Bobby Abreu. Those moments are why baseball is romantic. edit: I mean look at that kids face at 5:29. What a moment.

That guy was wearing a Dykstra jersey; He's probably the biggest jagoff in MLB history. One day (around 10 years ago) I was waiting to get onto the Amtrak train in Schenectady, NY and was standing near the ticket/main desk. One of the guy's behind the desk hung up the phone and laughed hysterically. His co-worker asked him what was so funny and he said "Lenny Dykstra just called from the train and said his train will be pulling up to the station soon and he is demanding that staff members are there to ensure that he isn't mobbed by people in the waiting area." The other guy asked "Who is Lenny Dykstra? There's one person here!"

What do these teams offer you when you get significant balls? Like a suite, money, tours of the facility, meet and greets or a few games for free? What would you say are the “standard” and are they ever forcefully trying to get the ball from you? Thanks Zack

It's never forceful, and they never offer money, but everything else you mentioned is a possibility depending on the significance of the ball. If you catch some nobody's 1st career home vs. a future Hall of Famer's 500th, the offer is gonna be MUUUUUCH different.

I hope your 100th home run is hit by the home team so everyone is going wild. Also, are you gonna avoid seeing every prospect that gets called up while you’re still at 99? The Nats called up James Wood and they’re home now and play at the Mets next week. Right field sucks at Citi Field anyways. You should totally bring another home run ball that you don’t mind giving up with you to every game now in case the player wants it back and you could counterfeit it to keep your 100th, BWAHAHA.
