My mom has never had the patience to teach me our typical Dominican recipes. Whenever she does try, she never has exact measurements and just says the measurements are “al ojo”. So thanks for these videos!!!
Lol sounds like a classic Dominican mom! 😅 The women in my family are the same which is why I decided to start making these videos. Im so happy that they were able to help! Thank you so much for watching!
Lol my mom is such a great cook but she’s the exact same way! I don’t do measurements I eyeball them lol. That’s why I’m teaching my son to cook and giving him the measurements!
am teaching my daughter to cook and I tell her the same "al ojo" lol. she is getting it but it does take more time. Thanks, Chef Zee, I love your recipes and how easy you make them look. I love looking up recipes just to give me new ideas or they remind me of recipes I haven't made in a while, like this soup, which ill make this week.
As a Dominican American woman in my 30s que no deja de comer (LOL) I am so thankful for your page. I share it with everyone in my family especially the younger generation. We love everything you make. Sometimes it tastes better than our parents 🤣🇩🇴🇩🇴🇩🇴
This is my go to Dominican chicken soup. Soy dominicana y mi esposo que es estadounidense y odiaba la sopa de pollo gringa cuando probó está quedó loco. Ahora es él que me pide que le haga sopa. Mil gracias, Chef Zee! Está sabe cómo la que hace mi mamá.

Aww thank you!!!! This means so so SOOOO MUCH! I appreciate your support and I honestly can't tell you how much that means to me. When my fiance and I first started making RU-vid we never thought people would actually watch. It's the early subscribers like you that kept our faith alive. Thank you!!!!!!! Big BIG hug.
Wow im officially DOMINICAN! I made this today as im feeling under the weather. It tastes so good. I didn’t get Ñame but its still very tastt. Im proud of myself. As always zee thanks for sharing this delicious recipe
As always chef zee comes in clutch. Her cooking really brings me back to when my Tia’s and mom were in the kitchen. My parents died when I was young, I had to teach myself how to cook and I’ve learn the traditional Dominican style cooking with Zee. Rainy day = chicken soup. Thanks Chef Zee
That looks so good and simple to make. I need to make this soon :) Thank you. You are a ray of hope to those who don't know how to cook well like me :(
Chef Zee Cooks, hi!!!! And I’m Peruvian...I can’t have it without any of those four!!! That’s the way we do it and with some rocoto molido 🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤 P.S.-Rocoto is a “peruvian chile”, ¡Delicioso!
Thanks for these videos! Not only are your recipes yummy but coming in handy during times of quarantine ❤️ hope you and your family are well and healthy! Take care.
Thank you, thank you chef zee!!!...I made this soup yesterday for me and my boyfriend, we loved it, only 2 things I was missing were the all spice and the little black balls thingy, but I put a spoon of sofrito and it was good, next time I'm going to get the two ingredients and add those...THANK YOU!!!
I plan to follow your recipe. I’m looking forward to it. May I say I absolutely enjoyed your RU-vid due to your down to Earth and tastefully prepared video. Your presentation was smooth, clear, well articulated that you can understand and follow. Excellent job! Thank you and God bless! Certainly will subscribe.
Absolutely love this recipe. Making this soup for my uncle thats battling cancer and can use some comfort food. Can I leave the chicken marinated overnight?
Perdon...I looked at your channel and there were the answers to my questions! Will definitely be making the “auyama” soup....with favorite butternut squash. Mil gracias! 💃🏻
I love allspice. In my country Surinam we call it “piment korrel”. In Spain I couldn’t find it but here they call it “grano de pimienta de Jamaica” took me 1 year of living here before I found it!
Definitely making this tomorrow! With these crazy temperatures going down on the minus side this is a must have! Good looking out on the recipe CHEF ZEE!
Soo funny how im also making a chicken soup and I got this notification. I make it the same way i just like to add corn and some costillita aumaca it gives a good flavor plus who doesnt love costillitas aumada 😍 I absolutely love your channel❤
Hey ! They didn't have the squash at the market but i ended up buying pumpkin squash abd frozen yuca ( only yuca they had ) ITS MAKING RIGH NOW ! THANK YOU SO MUCH RIGHT IN TIME FOR THIS COLD 💗🙏
Hola Zee no entiendo casi nada el inglés me imagino que vives en eeuu y por eso el idioma .Pero voy a tratar de investigar para poder hacer tus recetas .Vivo en México saludos .
Ty so much, trying this now! Just curious, after the chicken is lightly browned and the water is added...how long do you actually let the entire soup cook for? Also what heat? Medium?...im using a mix of thighs, drumsticks (bone in) and breast...ty!
I remember you said someone in your family is Italian. Maybe a brother in law don’t remember exactly but can you make a spaghetti and meatball recipe Italian style and maybe also Dominican style 😊
Your ingredients say 1 1/2 tbs Sopita. What does that mean? Is sopita little soups? But I still don't understand and I really really want to make this soup!
Looks delicious! Your recipe calls for 1 1/2 tbsp Sopita. Do they sell Sopita in a Latin market. We have Bravo supermarket . I always go there to buy all my vegetables. What brand is the one you use and what is Sopita?
Yep! Sopita is a chicken bouillon cube. My favorite brands to use are Knorr and Maggi. They will 100% have it at Bravo Supermarket. They even sell it at target and walmart!
@@Chefzeecooks thank you!! I will stop at Bravo to pick up all the ingredients to make the soup. Bravo also makes Latin food. I always go there for the soup. The cook at Bravo makes the best Dominican Sopa De Pollo. But now, I will start making my own! Thank you again for sharing your recipe ❤
Hi im new to your channel . I made the soup tonight , but after adding water, a browinsh thick layers appeared , which i didnt see on your video. Is this normal?
I always feel weird about the raw chicken in the water how long would you need to cook the chicken to ensure it’s fully cooked ? And all the bacteria is cooked out of the soup from the chicken ? Sorry if this is a dumb question I was never taught
This isn’t said in this video but in some of her others but you gotta clean the chicken! You put the chicken in water and vinegar and let it sit in there for 20-30 minutes and you’re all good.
Yep! Totally fine. I suggest using a low sodium chicken broth if you can. If not, just add salt/sopita little by little so that it doesn't come out too salty. Enjoy!
