Thank You so very much for this, I needed to just laugh today and there is NOTHING like the Golden Girls to bring a smile to my face!!! My Grandmother passed away 20 years ago and I was EXTREMELY close with her and we would watch the Golden Girls EVERYDAY at 6pm-7pm. In fact, she passed away at 6:42pm while the Golden Girls were on… it’s not sad for me.. it warms my heart because I know that it made her happy and made her laugh! So thank so much for the memories, GG!! You are a good man!!!

I loved this so much. My child hood centered around this show, especially with my grandparents...the 80`s really had quality shows.

Betty White ( Rose ) was the oldest, then Bea Arthur ( Dorothy ) was second oldest, Estelle Getty ( Sophia ) was third oldest, then Rue McClanahan ( Blanche ) was the youngest. Betty White 1-17-1922-12-31-2021, Bea Arthur 5-13-1922-4-25-2009, Estelle Getty 7-25-1923-7-22-2008, and Rue McClanahan 2-21-1934-6-3-2010

Rue McClanahan was actually the youngest of the “Golden Girls”, born in February of 1934, she would have just turned 50 in 1984. The other ladies were in their 60’s in 1984. Betty White was the oldest born in January of 1922 Bea Arthur, the next oldest, also born in 1922, in May And then Estelle Getty born in 1923

This show and its zingers are timeless! I still use “Quiet, trash!” and “God I wish I was deadddddd” - both Blanche lines - with the exaggerated southern drawl 😂

I always thought they dressed Dorothy awfully, in drapes. They always cracked on her features but she was pretty. Heard it took a toll on her.

I'm catching up and I LOVE the Golden Girls!!! Fun! I was in high school in the 80's and no I didnt wear a dress like that. I think that was just Bea Arthur style LOL. 🤣

Omg love the golden girls. Thank you 😊. I was in my 20s in the 80s. These ladies were in their 50s so no I wouldn’t have chosen that dress. Hahaaha one of the best sitcoms ever

So fun, literally was laughing out loud! And no, I’d of never worn that dress I’m sure her height gave her some problems but have mercy they didn’t have to make her fancy clothes look like curtains and gave her no figure!! Thanks GG, going back sure can be fun sometimes!! ✨💙✨

Yes, I would have worn that dress, but it would have hit just under my butt, paired with Madonnaesque lace tights, a wide belt, oversized plastic earrings and ankle boots. And not one thing would have matched, because 80s. Sophia still makes me laugh out loud, as though it’s the first time I’m seeing her.

I've been a huge fan of The Golden Girls since I was like 13 years old. I'm 26 and I still love that show to this day. Dorothy and Sophia were my favorite characters on the show. I find them both relatable. I get a lot of my sarcastic remarks from both of them. Like one time I was telling my pee brain cousins a story about the time when I accidentally swallowed a coin when I was little and it turned up a few days later. One of my cousins asked me where did it turn up Terry? I literally looked at him like he has lost his mind 😆 and I sarcastically said on The Discovery Channel 😆😂 true story just like Dorothy's ring story 😂😆

actually Rue was the youngest 1934, Estelle was the 2nd youngest 1923, then Bea & Betty 1922. and that dress is nothing, compared to the series finale wedding dress, with toilet paper rolls.

I'm not saying I like the dress or a lot of the dresses showcased in Golden Girls BUT Bea Arthur was so long lol they really dressed her according to her body. As someone who isn't even five foot, I could never wear that curtain dress. It's nice to see the original GIRLS They just don't make shows like this anymore.

Remake?? Are you nuts?! It would NEVER come close to topping the original; there is no viable equivalent to Betty White or Bea Arthur on this planet! Hollywood has long run out of originality, yes…but plenty of things should be left alone. The premise itself was a novelty in 1985 - not so much anymore. I adored Bea most of all. How could there ever be a replacement??
