20/20 raigh has higher average stats than 20/20 sophia. And of course higher bases with an earlier join time. And raigh is one of the weakest units in the game.
@@hirotrum6810 considering what game raigh is in, there's no way in hell he can be anywhere near the weakest units. he's a decent albeit unspectacular combat unit. his problem isn't that he's bad; it's that he's painfully average.
You know, I normally love using units like these. I try them all the time. But her? I simply cannot. That damn hit rate. It haunts me. No number of secret books have saved her. You are braver than I.
It’s because typically characters like this have boosted growths so the idea is they suck when you get them but will eventually become Perceval tier. The problem is Sophia has fairly average growths but for some reason has worse stats than ch1 units.

I just finished grinding up my sophia to A rank staves for funny warp and then this video is immediately uploaded. I think this is the universe’s way of telling me I’ve done a good job.
Honestly, the music was what made this video. It gave the whole thing a vibe of a perilous, hopeless, painful trek where every step and every small success along the way seems to yield another unexpected terror and every triumph feels like it was ripped from the jaws of death. Much like training Sophia tends to be. Also, it's rather funny that it was the second Fist of the North Star song in a row.
I feel like she's underrated as a Fire Emblem cutie, honestly. It's unfortunately probably because she's perceived as being a bad unit, but I kind of have a soft spot for her
sophia is one of those units that are ultimately crap but alot of fun to invest casually atleast for me. Not to mention her using apocalypse is cathartic.
Played FE6 many times, and never did I miss recruiting Sophia, and train her to her max. Even without the help of stat-boosting items, Sophia in my playthrough always maxed out its attack and resistance. She may be recruitable at the lowest level, and many people tend to not train her. But not me! I love Sophia! Even in FEH, I use her. I even use her as a 1-star unit there and can still be an effective unit
Oh, Sophia. So terrible, but so much fun to use. More than any other unit I’ve ever trained, getting her to be effective feels like an accomplishment, like you’ve really overcome something. One of my favorite FE moments ever was getting her and Raigh to A support and having them take on all of chapter 21 with Nos.
I agree completely. I did it my first two runs. I used rng manip. on the 2nd run for fun and had her cap out all of her stats except HP, and she pulled it off by like a lv8 Druid. She iced the whole game of course. But legitimate levels with her would make it way too painful. Save state scum or bust lol
Sophia as an Est may come from a Rock and an Hard Place. But if you manage to put effort into her, She will become a deadly Druid and Bern will feels the wrath of Nabata’s Half-Human, Half-Dragon.

Since anything I could say about Sophia has likely been said already by someone else (will bite it tho, _good lord that hit rate :0_ ), I'll just mention that her art in the thumbnail kinda reminds me of the style of this one anime my mom and I adored back then

@@Neogears1312 Well technically Sophia does have a unique sprite that being the female shaman sprite, since she is the only female shaman in the gba series. Plus it pretty fun to level up a character with bad base states, but great growths.
Always remember: don't simply trust "this unit is the best in the game" and then they get crap on level ups. And on the otherhand bad units that you are forced to use start getting perfect level ups... What a strange world we live in. And yes this is not Project Ember, it is just Vanilla FE6, where hit rate issues are everywhere- wait, don't you guys know How to manipulate RNG!?
She doesn't even have a lot of health, though, This Sophia was fed multiple Angelic Robes; your typical Sophia has 15 base HP and a 60% growth, which will usually keep her in one-shot territory for a good while.
I used Sophia once. And she was very very blessed. Especially in defense, she had 23 defense by the time I hit endgame. More than Douglas has at base! That was with only one dracosheild. Using her with Nos felt like i was using an awakening dark mage. It was definitely a rememberable experience. [Edit] Her defense cap is 20 as a druid. Lesson learned that memory is not the best to rely on. She still kicked ass that run.

I honestly think being in FE6 and her class saved Sophia grom being the worst unit in the entire series, just like Shannam's case. She at least gets some insane promo bonuses and can use the always fun Apocalypse, and even outside of combat, she gives you a guiding ring and technically Forblaze, too (because you need her alive to enter the gaiden) but I'd say that last point gives her even more of a frustrating feel.
@@Donlot_ Imma keep it 100% real. In my 3 fe6 runs, I havent even touched bartre or the B route for that matter just because of echidna lmao. Also, it didnt happen in the 1 ironman I did, but if echidna died Id prob reset even if it was an ironman tbh.
@@Neogears1312 Meh, Bartre still has pretty low speed on top of his low skill. I'd still stick with Gonzalez, especially since he gets hard mode bonuses, and the fact that Bartre is locked to a single route
If you are still taking requests for bad units, perhaps Tomas from shadow dragon? Hes really not good but I remember using him my first time ever playing a fire emblem game and he killed Medeus on easy mode. Not really an achievement but I thought it was funny.
I used Tomas on my recent H5 ironman on youtube. I leveled him quite late as a curate till level 16 to speedlevel, then gave him his last levels as an archer. After promo he was slightly better than Arran as a sniper, which is certainly not the best, but still way more than i ever expected of him. His str in combination with parthia actually let him one shot dracos, which came in insanely useful since i did not warpskip, nor use ballistae, wolfgar or xane. And this was despite him basically getting 8 guaranteed no str levels. His speed was always just enough to not get doubled after promo. My conclusion would be: He is probably one of the worst units in the game, but still has his uses thanks to his great base bow rank, and is practically made for early promotion, so he'll always make for a good parthia user in a pinch
Honestly, Sophia is not a terrible unit. She's difficult, but not terrible. At least dark magic tomes weigh pretty low so her AS isn't severely reduced, dark magic is more accurate in Binding Blade than other FE games which is handy and she can find a Guiding Ring to promote a level twenty mage/healer. Her growths for a Est archetype unit are decent but not great, unlike Afa Drops boosted Nino. Why were there no Afa Drops in FE6? Why couldn't Igrene or the person looking after Fae in the Arcadia Temple give you the Afa Drops before leaving Arcadia? However, with her bases starting off with what I can only assume is the worst base stats, maybe second to Wendy. Literally, it's as if she was given the worst stats from every unit in Chapter 1, it is very easy to give this Sophia a quick hard pass as one wrong move and she can be destroyed in one hit with her pitiful twelve avoid and with unrelíable seventy-five hit rate, she is very inaccurate to even consider using for combat. Furthermore, no Luna tomes. But if you're tempted in using her, which isn't very many, the best way to train Sophia her starting chapter, is to trade her a Pure Water with Roy or use the Barrier staff with Ellen or Saul and have her take down the mages east of where she is at the beginning of the mage. She should get a level or two easily that way and take little damage as her Res has been boosted. Then have her take down any unit she can that has reliable enough accuracy for Sophia to go in for the kill but don't be too greedy. Best way to taint, I mean train Sophia, is to defeat the preists by using Cecelia (or any magic unit that is not Sophia) and break them. Again, Barrier staff and Pure Water can come in very handy. The occassional Wyvern Knight that isn't equipped with a Javelin is another good choice as Sophia cannot be countered. Always make sure a flyer, like Milady is by Sophia's side just in case she misses and she's needs to be rescued, which can happen… A LOT! Helps her move around the map easier too. In all, Sophia is a very difficult and weird unit that may take a some time to grow into something pretty good for the end game, while high risks boasts high rewards, it can also burden you with devastating consequences.
FE5 at least don't lie for being an 1 RNG game.FE6 2RNG and the lower hit in almost every weapon plus insane throne bonus make every unit with less that 50 hit even less accurate. Curiosity in both games you never have 100 hit, FE5 hit is between 1 and 99 and FE6 100 has 1/254 of miss the hit.
You have Nanna, leadership stars, innate supports, Kingmaker and full-heal vulneraries in Thracia, so imo it's much easier to deal with overall low hitrates there.
