Sophie Wessex has been captured in a “lovely” moment comforting an emotional Prince George by putting her arm around him at Queen Elizabeth II’s state funeral.
Everyone says she's VERY Dedicated to her Charities & a Very Hard Worker! She just rolls up her sleeves & gets on with it along with the Best of Them! No fanfare, like some ppl! She just gets in there & gets things done! She's very practical! I think it's just Lovely how each one of these Royal Women (all but one, Me Me Me) have certain Personalities & Characteristics about them that when they apply them to the Work they're involved in, it has a Marvelous Effect! I always think of Diana taking William along with her to Hospitals & other engagements & taught him to not be Shy, but to greet ppl & engage them in an interesting conversations about that person! It makes ppl realize you care about THEM as an Individual! Then William taught Catherine to do it! What a Great Team W & C are! You can see how effective these traits are by watching them among ppl! It's pretty awesome, when you think of it! They're going to make a Very Wonderful P & P of Wales! And those Adorable Children.....so sweet & genuine!
Prince George demonstrated gentlemanly behavior as he waited for the ladies to exit the vehicle first. His Great Grandparents would be proud. Well done, young man!
@@BlackStump172 Why would she need a mask? Covid is well under control now and the medics know how to deal with it. Only a few cases now thankfully and we are now due our annual vaccination - free via the NHS and very well organised for such a huge undertaking. Sophie's the calm in the storm, there to shore up those that need it, and fulfilling her role as a working royal. I sincerely hope that King Charles lll does make Prince Edward and Sophie Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh. His father, the late Prince Philip and Duke of Edinburgh asked that this happen and her Majesty the late Queen approved.
She is 57? She looks fantastic! (They all work on keeping a healthy weight, which I think is the single most important factor in health and looking one's best, something it seems most all of us have to wrestle with in this age!)
Wrong information from this lady that keep saying? George is second in line. She is an Idiot? George is third in line 😆after Old ass Charles, then William then Prince George? Lol Hmm
The Queen truly loved and trusted Sophie with her closest kept feelings. They had the perfect daughter in law/mother in law relationshiop! I'm glad the children did this..it was a very wise choice by the Prince and Princess of Wales to make! They were able to express their grief and be brave as Gan Gan would have wanted them to be. This will help them to process it all well into the future!
@@valeriethompson3584 I KNOW THIS BY inner circle statements...but primarily by observation. The Queen had Sophie with her at least once a week and often more. Edward and Sophie of Wessex have it all - class and responsibility as senior royals as well as down to earth personalities in general and in raising their children. They deserve the Edinburgh titles more than anyone else
Collette Landwer Edward is not a senior royal anymore or Anne and Andrew know they are siblings of the Sovereign and Edward couldn't inherit the Edinburgh title, as the Eldest livng son Charles inherited it and he can't pass it on, when he became King it merged back to crown which Phillip knew would happen
Carolann Miller, the word you meant to use is ‘admirable’! I knew what you meant. And yes, you’re correct, Kate’s dedication to Queen Elizabeth is admirable.

@@plasmichoneytrip yes l have and the duties a Monarch has pass on to the next Monarch and with charities, most of them ask members to be Patron or President except most of a Monarch's will just pass from Monarch to Monarch that is on the royal family website as for Military appointments, most pass from Monarch to Monarch the Monarch is always the Regiments of the household division and those royal by birth become royal colonels
“It was reported that Sophie was to take on the former Majesty’s old roles…Sophie is in line to take duties such as..” That was my basis for saying whatever is being passed on to her is deserving based on her loyalty and hard work. If semantics is your issue, I did not mean the primary and fundamental roles of the monarch per se. You clearly are losing the forest for the tree here. Get off your high horse and smug pseudo-royal-know-how attitude. You are exhausting. Must be fun at parties. Geesh.
Still, I hope he gets time to be a kid occasionally. He is only nine (almost ten). Life goes by fast enough as it is. Childhood is over before you know it.
Sophie has been such a blessing to the Queen and the royal family. She came as the Queen was witnessing her children’s marriages coming apart, likely putting her through stress. Sophie was quick to learn what was expected of her when joining the family, the main one is to be a team player and represents the Queen. Along with a friendly personality Sophie blossomed a beautiful relationship between her and the Queen. Becoming one of her most trusted family members, even picking up the pieces when Megxit happened while the Queen and Charles and Camilla had to be careful to be active when Covid was spread. I hope that Charles will understand how much of an allie both Edward and Sophie are, until the Wales’ children could grow into their roles, the Wessex I think are happy to continue to serve for as much required. And Edward chose well for his spouse. It was his marriage that gave his parents a well needed relief. Together with Sophie, their marriage has provided so much benefit in helping the Queen.
The natural bond between HM and Sophie was strengthened after Sophie's mum died, it must have given solace to both ladies to have each other's trust the way they did.
The only good thing that came from megxit is that the Queen asked Edward and Sophie to step up and fill the spot H&M left. And Lord knows that Edward and Sophie have done such an amazing job 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
The Prince and Princess of Wales children are a huge credit to their parent’s parenting skills, so respectful, thoughtful, dignified, well mannered and well behaved kindhearted, caring and helpful especially Prince George loves helping his mother in the kitchen
As an American how would you in America feel if you had a Russian president why should we in Wales have an Englishman as our prince by all means call him prince William
Sophie, Countess of Wessex will surely be a great support to the Princess of Wales. Prince Edward and Sophie, Countess of Wessex deserve to be the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh just like what Prince Philip wanted.
Sophie and Edward are a wonderful couple. They work hard, without fuss. Always king, caring, thoughtful, funny, They have two wonderful children, Louise and James. Beautiful Aunty moment shown to George ❤
Many of the RF showed emotions and tears. They were very real as was their love for their grandmother, mother, and mother-in-law. They wouldn't be human if they didn't. Many people throughout the world joined in with them in tears and grief.
If these don’t touch your heart 0:40 - Prince Edward, his intense sorrow 0:44 - Sophie of Wessex, absolutely gutted So sorry for the family. I wish the Queen’s last three years hadn’t been filled with such stress and sorrow. I hope she left this earth feeling confident Charles and William will take what she built for 70 years and carry it on. I’m sure she did.

George, Charlotte and Louis will miss their Gan Gan very much. I also admire Sophie with how she shows great service to the people, the Queen was really fond of her, not as tough as Princess Anne but Sophie is a constant presence that is a comfort every time you see her. Quiet sense of duty is on point. Not boastful but always there and serving with the royals. I imagine Sophie and Princess Anne will help Catherine and Prince William, King Charles and Camilla on Royal duties because Sophie and Princess Anne are just great mentors just like The Queen.
Sophie seems to be a truly caring person. I've noticed this many times. Those young children had more strength than many adults. They have a strong support system in their parents.

I think Sophie is incredibly poised, classy and such a beautiful woman. Have always liked the way she went about her role quietly and with such huge dignity.
I love the Royal family. Sophie is a very pretty lady who always shows the utmost respect whatever she does and has a kind heart. Sophie and Catherine are two of a kind - elegant, hard working and thoroughly likeable/loveable. What a shame others cannot be as loyal to the family and their subjects as these two formidable ladies.
Sophie of Wessex is just the most lovely person you might imagine from the royal family. I've had a pleasure to meet her and know at visiting my college and meeting my students. What a beautiful soul in the skin of lovely, intelligent and very classy lady, hard working and driving by her own in spite to attend lots of duties. We know Sophie was very loved by late Queen and they had very close & very special, warm relationship so no wonder how emotional was that day of the funeral for Sophie. Meghan Markle has not enough IQ as to see the difference between Sophie and hers, what a shame!
This poem is dedicated to Queen Elizabeth II may she rest in peace Queenie I love the Queen she was never horrible, never mean She was a wonderful head of state, with all the worlds problems on her plate, Like politicians destroying her country, upholding traditions and all their superstitions, She was assiduous to her duties, carried out with Grace and Beauty, she Devoted her life to the service of this Country, A dutiful wife, bringing life, bearing the sorrows of her nation! Regal and Sovereign, a Jewel in the Crown Of gods beautiful creation 🙏✨🌍
The Queen once said that when ever she felt stressed, she would call for Sophie to come over (they don't live far from Windsor Castle) & be with her bc Sophie had a Great Calming Influence on her! It doesn't get any better than that, when your Mother-in-Law, who just happens to be the Queen, says that about you! I'm happy that apparently it's been planned by Her Majesty, that upon her death, King Charles would bestow the Title & Style of "HRH The Duke of Edinburgh", taking the Title that their Father bore! Of course, in that case, Sophie will be Styled & Titled "HRH The Duchess of Edinburgh"! How Lovely is That? 😊🌷
she's not, usually charities ask a member of the royal family to be Patrons of their charity but with the Monarch it's slightly different, most of the patronages pass from Monarch to Monarch so they will pass to our King but there are some charities that asked the Queen to be Patron of their charity and these charities will ask new people to be Patrons and they could ask celebrities but they are just charity work and our Queen was a member of Sandringham WI but they weren't our late Queen's duties and all her duties pass to our King
Truly touching. You can see how much the queen meant to those so close to her. The small gestures that show of profound and enormous love for those she cared for. Love and all the best wishes your majest.
Sophie actually stopped and looked for Meghan, waiting for her to catch up. Surprising. But just goes to show what a class act Sophie is! And she doesn't need it to be on camera either!
Love Sophie. She is the fortress of the family now that the queen is gone. She seems very loving, strong and protective of the Prince and Princess of Wales’s family
They really are a close knit, loving family. There were many moments where you could see that throughout the day. Even Zara was tender with George, and Sophie was protective of Charlotte. It was very sweet. It must be so hard for them, I’m glad they are tight and have each other.
I had no idea she almost died in childbirth. She first had an ectopic pregnancy and then gave birth to Lady Louise prematurely after a placental abruption. Lovely lady.
It’s nice to see that someone in that royal family has compassion for the kids. I know they’re not supposed to show emotion but these are children being groomed and trained for royal duty in the future. They can’t be expected to turn their emotions off completely at such a young age. It takes time to learn how to do that. They were both little troopers who appeared well behaved and disciplined. At least they had a few years to spend with their great grandmother. That’s better than nothing.
You're obv not a royal follower, a lot of protocols have been relaxed over the years, look how Diana's children ran into her arms after she'd been away on royal duties, things change, times change, we still have the pomp and ceremony for state banquets and funerals 😊😊
I think it is so important that the children could attend the Queen's funeral. This will help them to have closure and as long as they are allowed to cry and can be comforted by people like their aunt, mother, father, uncles and grandfather the King.
Yeah, get 'em young, to get used to the obligations of privilege dressed up as 'duty', As i said before it's child abuse to be brought up to believe you are a separate 'caste', genetically, (or by marriage). But as with Diana's funeral the two sons experienced it, so their children must experience it. So much British/Australian tabloid tosh, that is the mainstay of the whole British system. Without them, the Uk would be a republic.
Princess Sophie is lovely she visited a school a worked at a long time ago. She was so humble and spent time listening to every child and staff member. I remember laughing with her about the computers, it felt like I was talking with a friend.
@@lsmith9249 excuse me they ARE part of the Monarchy, Prince Edward is the Queens youngest son & on his marriage to Sophie took on the Wessex title as it had already been decided Edward would take on the Duke of Edinburgh after Philips passing - though this had to wait till the Queens passing because HM still technically still held the title of Duchess of Edinburgh. They should & better get the Edinburgh titles, it was what Prince Philip wanted & they work damn hard for the RF. Sophie also does as much work here & overseas as much as Diana did - she's just not in the spotlight the way Diana was - much like Princess Ann, the hardest working Royal there, but she works 'under' the radar..

There are plenty of great grandchildren that would not shed a tear over a great grandparents death because they had spent to little time with them to be attached. This is a window into how close the queens family really is.

It’s all so Historic and beautiful.Queen Elizabeth is all I’ve ever known, she’s been a strong hold in every storm. She is being revered and appreciated and shown love and respect by SO many !!! She will never be replaced… there will never be another like her. I feel like I’ve lost my own grandmother ❣️

To Scout’s Honor: I think your comments are a bit off. Sophie has her act together big time so she is like sending out the Calvary. She can probably handle just about anything well with poise and tact and intelligent good sense. And some people need other people to guide them gently and tactfully. It is NOT about being aggressive.
Charlotte and George looked so grown up in their finery. And they both showed such dignity. Poor Louie. He's too young to grasp the absolute finality of Great-Grannie's passing. I hope he doesn't lose all memory of her. I was 4 when my Great Grandma died and I only have very shadowy, snippets of memory of her. But then again, she lived 2,000 miles away. With the Queen being so close by, perhaps Louie has many more strong interactions to remember and they will stay with him.
I really do think that all of the royals did a wonderful job keeping it together, it would of been tough for everybody seeing their mother, grandmother & greatmother funeral so openly as their did, my heart & thoughts goes out to them all! & no doubt prince phillip & the queen would of both been smiling down at them on how proud they would of been of them all!
Of course it was overwhelming for the children. But they were beautifully behaved and did an exceptional job by just being there. As for the Countess, she is such a lovely giving lady herself. We saw a family deep in grief having to lay it bare for the world to see. The late Queen has left a huge hole and they will feel her loss keenly over the next few years. My deepest sympathies go to the whole Royal family on the loss of their beloved mother and in particular to King Charles who has stepped into the role he has been preparing for his whole life rather seamlessly and hasn't had time with the hugely busy schedule he has had to even take the time for his own private grief. I just pray that he continues to have the support around him as the task is huge and the bubble we have all been in will eventually burst.
