Oh, I’ve got it. This comment is reverse psychology, so Sora low tier, I liked the video, I left a comment, and subscribed. Now in all seriousness, I think Sora is high tier. Being slow and floaty has never been a great combo. But having neutral b to be able to start combos from a distance, a broken recovery with a solid edgeguarding game, and very strong juggling with up air makes up for Sora’s mobility shortcomings to a point. I still see juggling as a huge problem, I can’t imagine Sora would like being camped, and some characters with super strong OoS options could just negate his otherwise super strong mixup game.
I've never made a full comprehensive guide, but maybe! I can definitely say I'll be covering everything and anything I find about the character, even in these short 1-3 min long vids. I usually keep the channel organized with playlist setups so you can always check those out too!
Remember folks, people are making other than Sora, don't let this be you lol. Don't get combo'd by a setup lol. Honestly shozas made us more aware of more setups/short combos Sora mains can use.
I'd be interested to hear your thoughts on Sora's down air, it seems like one of his more controversial moves. I think when it auto cancels its good? but most players I hear from say it's easily punishable. Does it make him less vulnerable after his double jump?
It's a good mix-up, not something you want to use every stock of every game because then your opponent can catch on. If you're hit way up into the upper blast zone you can use it freely though, it beats a bunch of opponents up-airs and sends them upwards to their death if they get hit. Additionally, I don't really worry about losing Sora's double jump since his recovery is so good anyways even if you're hit off stage. Gotta say if it's just the normal ver. it's pretty bad to use on stage.

Sadly, can't be b-reversed. There's that weird interaction where if you counter facing away and get hit he might turn around automatically but straight up b-reversing can't be done.
@@shoxas OK so I wasn't crazy. But yeah I noticed that I can sometimes counter something in the other direction. (Poor Sephiroth) Thanks for the reply and videos.
It's a timing and muscle memory thing. The DJ from ledge is relatively easy though. I'd say practice it offline and stay offline. Online, especially with lag, makes it feel impossible

Glad you've demonstrated how sonic blade leads into tech chases on the plat to a lot more people. Been doing that a lot to opponents myself already so i hope to see more soras use that on top of the other stuff you've shown

I can usually pick up tech pretty quickly, but for the life of me, I can't get Sora's IDJ fair out. I either don't double jump at all, or when I do double jump, I'm literally super high in the air using f-air (obviously way above the enemy lol) do you have any tips for how to get it reliably? I feel like that's a key component to Sora's gameplay
The biggest trouble i had was the timing to start the first jump, when I practiced it a little i could not do down tilt into IDJ fair for the life of me as well as into up air, you need to delay your first jump until the very end of the animation of down tilt otherwise the input isn't registered and you get full hop, delaying it too long will make you miss and like you said you end up way higher. Hopefully this helps.

You can't call something a character just has "Tech". Wow Sora has a stallnfall dair that's + on shield. That isn't tech. That is just something that character has. You are not going out of your way to press some special input to make it plus on shield. Everyone knows at a comp level that if you double jump at a specific height that you can auto cancel those kinds of moves. It is exactly like calling "Instant double jump" a "Tech". IDJ has been around since brawl. People are just desperate to create "new Tech" for this game at this point. A good example is Link bomb recovering. That clearly wasn't intended to be used the way it is. Therefore it is called "Tech". Same with all the janky Rosalina n Luma things. Calling something as simple as quickly tabbing jump twice or landing with a safe move "Tech" is silly. Crouch cancels? Tech. IDJ? Not tech. Dash attack cancels? Tech. Landing with dair? Not tech.
