Sorcery is amazing. There is no sane person that likes tcgs that looks at these cards and say nah. It's the best looking art that exists. The game is fun. I forsee a wide range of formats in the future. There is no negative to this game so far that is a game breaker. This game is here to stay. Can't wait for beta!!!
Erik was so sorry that Sorcery KS products were delayed so he added three additional packs in the booster box. That meant 39 packs instead of 36 packs.
I think Beta will make or break it, and right now it's not looking great as a game. As a collectible it could be a totally different story. US sounds like it's still okay, but the Canadian and EU distributors were sold out of booster boxes long before the cutoff date. Out of all the stores I called in SW Ontario, only 1 in Goderich (a small cottage town off Lake Huron) was planning on hosting game nights, but they don't know how much product they are going to get, and they are worried the community will not have enough to support it. I know plenty of people who have given up buying physical product and are just going to play online for free. As for Gen Con, Sorcery made a minor splash. Looking around, only channels that were already covering Sorcery were talking about it. Other gaming channels were all about Lorcana (good and bad), FFG's Star Wars, and MtG. FaB was pretty quiet as well though, so it could just be Lorcana pushing everyone else out of the spotlight.
You can't compare Sorcery to metazoo. Metazoo has 10 year old childish drawings compared to Sorcery which has renowned artists. Even gameplay is different more tabletop then super competitive. Plus they are releasing 1 set per year which is great to give people plenty of time to collect all cards.
