Never had tonsillitis as a child, but in 1963 when I was in college, I woke up one Sunday morning with a little white sore spot on the back of my throat. By evening, the back of my throat was covered with those little painful white spots. I showed them to my suite mate who was a nurse and said I had strep throat. I walked over to the medical center in Tyler, TX. The emergency doctor took a look and said acute tonsillitis. He ordered a shot and sent me on my way. I consumed liquids for the next day and in a day or two they completely cleared up. However, the scar tissue they made for years would catch food in them and it have to work it out with my tongue. I guess they finally closed up because I don't have those any more either and haven't had a recurrence.

I have had recurring tonsils for 9 times this year. My left tonsil is the one thats more swollen because of an absess and i had pharyngitis and tonsilitis the same time for 2 times now, still waiting on the doctors to get my bloodwork back so that i can get these out of me. Its not fun

I think we have 10x more bacteria in our bodies that help us than we have cells. get a antibiotic shot and a steroid shot cause taking the medication is not as fast as getting shots with needle arm or but but there is alot types of tonsillitis I will admit I got it dr told me I'm giving a steroid shot and antibiotic shot and 2 pills to help confer I got 2 steroid shots and antibiotic shot plus treated my confer zone and told me 2 steroid shots will work fast then the pills so I'm like okay I guess but yep I know the pain it's not good one either
