I've been wearing Sorel Caribous for years. My first pair i bought in 1997 lasted 20 years. A few years ago i bought a new pair and the rubber cracked. Every year since i cant get through a winter without the rubber cracking. Now they are asking $200 a pair.
Thanks for watching! I have noticed that who is making them makes a huge difference in how they hold up. I love the Caribou’s but wish they would make them like they used to. I’m always on the lookout for a pair of originals made in Canada.
I have a pair Sorel Caribou's wear them when it's -5°F to 28°F. I wear the much warmer and slightly bigger Sorel Dominator or Sorel Glaciers when it's -15°F to -35°F outside. Both the Sorel Glacier's and Sorel Dominator have the 13mm liner instead of the 9mm liner like the Caribou's have. Plus the Sorel Glaciers and Sorel Dominator's have a 13mm removable frostplug insert. With a total thickness of 26mm of wool felt under your feet in those two boots, I promise your feet aren't getting cold 😉.
I have had to look on eBay, online resale sites, thrift stores, or garage sales. That's about the only place that you can really find them. thanks for watching!
Hey, I keep reading that you oughta buy Half a Size down. So I typically wear a 10. Should I start with a 9.5? Buying online so I’d like to save a return if possible. Great video. What say you?
Dammit! I just bought a pair and the tread is completely different from the ones in this video... now, they're round cleats....figures .. I like the ones that you have... why do they do this S__t to us! Marketers are devils.
