It's crazy that there's so much pressure in one short little week but it's over before you know it! I'm glad you found the tutorial helpful, that's the exact reason why I made it :)

I completely agree! This video was made a few years ago so some of the looks I feel are somewhat outdated! Haha but I still stand behind the ideas of just doing whatever makes you feel the most comfortable! Plus if you try to be someone you're not during recruitment you might not end up where you're supposed to be!

Tran Le Oh good I'm glad it helped! I used lashes from this brand called blvdbeauty (they sell their products on Ebay) and they were in the style Luxe Be a Lady. But some from the drugstore I really like and I use on my clients are the Eyelure 114 lashes. You just want lashes that are the same length as your normal lashes (or smaller) and that aren't too thick and they'll work great!

That's a good idea!! What type of advice would be the most helpful to talk about? Regarding the recruitment experience, overall experience, your first year, your last year, making friends, etc.?

Haha I know I never even looked at youtube for any tips when I went through recruitment and I wished I had that too! But I ended up loving my sorority too, so I guess we didn't need it! Haha

Hi Deshainae!! Sorry in advance for the long response, but I wanted to make sure I answered your question as best I can! Honestly it differs so much by chapter and by the university that it's hard to say. I can only speak from my experience with my chapter at my university, but I'm sure that the process was different even for different chapters at my own university, or my sorority at different universities. I know for my chapter it typically was more difficult for non-traditional students. The reason being that when chapters are looking at PNMs they're looking to see if that PNM would be a good fit for the chapter (and their PC) and would enjoy being in the chapter. When looking at students who are non-traditional (aka non incoming freshman), chapters may weigh that on their decision making. They're going to look at the non-traditional students and think about how well they would fit in with their PC (pledge class). At my university, you live in the sorority house as a freshman, and you do SO much with your PC. Very similarly to how you typically become very close with people in your grade in high school. If you're coming in as a Junior, you're going to be taking harder courses and in the mind set of someone preparing to graduate. But if you're constantly surrounded by freshman who are in a different mind set and at a different point in their lives it can be difficult for the non-traditional students to relate. Knowing that, chapters will think about what would be best for the non-traditional student, but it is done on a person-by-person basis. In my PC, there was a girl who was non-traditional (she was a sophomore) and she was wonderful! She did end up moving out early though, and I'm guessing part of that decision had to do with the age gap. I hope that kind of answers your question and makes sense! I'm not sure what it's like at schools where you wouldn't be physically living in a house together or schools that have hundreds of women in one PC (at my school you had 35 women at MOST in a PC). It's kind of a grey area for non-traditional students, and while I don't think chapters look down on non-traditional students by any means, I think it may affect your recruitment experience. If you have any more questions please don't hesitate to ask, or if you would like any clarification/further explanation on anything!

Congratulations, that's so exciting! I was a Theta (Kappa Alpha Theta), and I loved my time at UW! I hope you go through recruitment, it was a great experience! I really miss going to UW, I feel like I didn't appreciate it as much as I could have, and the four years flew by SO fast!

+Anna Wozniak Thank you! I believe I used the Anastasia Beverly Hills single shadow in Metal (at least that's what I would guess re-watching the video). I purposefully didn't mention any of the products I used because I didn't want it to seem like people needed to go out and purchase exactly what I was using. That way it could be more affordable! But if I had to guess what I was using (because of course I never wrote it down anywhere - that would make too much sense! Haha) I would guess it was the ABH single shadow "Metal". Hope that helps!
