Saber said at the finale of their triumphant battle against the priest and the king, "I love you", using "aishiteru", not "suki". "Aishiteru" carries a heavy notation of love, it is rarely used even amongst long-term couples in Japan. So, at that moment, after just two weeks of meeting each other, knowing each other, arguing, training, and misunderstanding each other, Saber truly loved Shirou, from the bottom of her heart.
I just finished the Fate route for the first time. I finally understand why everyone truly loves Saber. Saber's final goodbye and her reuniting with Shirou in Avalon put tears in my eyes.
I feel like last episode doesn't hit as hard unless you go through the whole fsn story. Cause it's imperative to know the journey shirou and arturia went through and that can only be fully felt knowing what shirou will likely go through in his life. Represented by ubw and HF and most especially Archer, who became like that because he was unable to save Arturia himself.
@@contown731 And this is the tragedy that most people forget was inherent in Fate/Zero. Her Knights actually believed in her. They trusted her implictly and even Mordred, traitor as "he" was, only truly wanted to serve King Arthur (something Mordred is reminded of at the end of Apocrypha). So the people who only saw the Zero anime never get the full characterization and tragedy of Lancelot and King Arthur. Instead they focus on Iskandar's bombastic but ultimately worthless "words of wisdom" claiming Arthur to be a failure.
"Someday, my memories of her will fade. Her voice, her actions - I might forget them as well. But even then, I will always remember that I loved her." - Shirou in last episode I watched this many months ago, but this saying is still stuck in my brain. Like it got written in stone
To be precise it was: "Someday, my memories of her will fade. Her voice, her actions - I might forget them as well. But even then, I will always remember that I loved her."
@@Modoreddo Yes, it was part of the Fate route, even present in the original visual novel (Réalta Nua, which added the Last Episode, was released later). Although Last Episode is considered canon now, it was probably made to assuage the feelings of fans who wanted a happy ending for Saber's route.
@@kimskerem The godamn novel has been out for almost 15 years, in 2005, we are almost at 2020, if you have not read it yet but are cliking on Fate videos, get your shit straight and go read it. That is not even a fucking spoiler for anyone that can put 2 and 2.
Fate is still by far my most favorite route.. i don't know why You know i frickin love Rin, UBW route was fantastic, great plot advancement and character developments. jaw dropping twist and revelation, the dialogue between the hero and heroine are spectacular.. And the battle scenes are one of the most amazing thing you could ever witness in a visual novel format, even so in animated. Heaven's Feel route's atmosphere was superb, Sakura Matou was what you wouldn't have expect her to be, great character emphasis, everything is well put, nothing seems to feel out of place, at all, the involvement of outside force, and the clear explanation of the Holy Grail, then there's the morality, choices and commitment Shirou has to make, added with the breathtaking confrontment and plot of events that follows after that. Fate Route, on the other hand, where in this route, you see a straightforward side by side battle of wits with Shirou and Saber, a simple adventure you'd witness in any fantasy story book, nothing special, nothing spectacular, they defeat their foes one by one succeeding in their quest, without any unnecessary fancy plot device to spice up the route, a master and servant undertaking an oath to win the Holy Grail War, simple as that, it's like a heroic romance comedy mixed in with some climaxing action battle scene at the end, i mean compared to the two routes above, script writing and plot wise, it can easily outdone this route, but i still can't deny, that in my wholehearted opinion this is the most simplistic yet most adored route by far in my heart :))
CyanPoro IMO, although the other routes were better plot wise by far than Fate route, Arturia is the best character as a heroine as well as love interest. She just shines
+CyanPoro I just look at it as each route focuses on different things and different presentations, and each one does its part tremendously well. All 3 routes are best route, just depending on what aspect you want to look at. (And then all 3 lead into the ridiculous ride that is Hollow Ataraxia.)
I think people overlook the fact that fate is the saddest route of all of fate/stay night. To love someone only for them to go away. Sure heavens feel is the darkest, yet, at the same time it’s probably the happiest ending. Ubw is just kinda in the middle. But fate has the saddest ending, shirou doesn’t get that chance with saber like he does with rin and Sakura. Not including the realta nua version. Yet even Including, it takes years for them to finally mean up again.
legend invoker people also over look a hard fact about fate shirou. with heroism comes sacrifice, your life, the life of your comrades, your loved ones lives. In order for Shirou to hold true to his ideals he has to sacrifice the one thing in his life that gave his original ideals true meaning. Saber.
Unlimited Blade Works was my favorite route, but Shirou/Saber was my favorite romance. And the ending for Fate made me tear up in a way that neither of the others could achieve... ...I guess I'm just a sucker for green-eyed blondes...
The 3 girls are representative of the kind of relationship that people are in: Saber: You want someone equal to you, even if she walks on her own path. Rin: You want someone to guide you. Sakura: You want to be the one who guides.
“Shirou I love you.” And then she disappears, I was like ‘No!!,’ and stared crying 😢. Fate route is probably one of the most depressing love stories out there, to love someone only to wait for them to leave. The moment they say farewell, all the time they’ve spent together just flashes back in me and I felt so sad. Damn, Fate route is one of the love stories that left a ‘scar’ on me. Nasu does this to his main heroines, first Arcueid who left me depressed and then Saber who left me even more depressed. So happy that they gave us the Last episode ending, I couldn’t bear the sadness of two lovers having to leave each other. Fate route is the saddest route imo. All the time Shirou and Saber spent together and Shirou desperately trying to convince Saber to find her own happiness and wanted her to stay by his side, they all rise up to your feelings at the farewell scene.
No reason to be so depressed, one waits for eternity, the other seeks for eternity until the end of world , both carries their ideals till their last moments which is why finally the two wielders of Caliburn reunites in Avalon , there is a comic video which made me cry , u can check it
The romance of the Fate route is easily my favorite, it has been my favorite since I first read it, and that has not changed with any other route after that. Last Episode just confirmed my feelings, peak fiction fr fr
Shirou and Sabers love comes from their ideals They never be lovley dovley Other ships only exists because its a visual novel and MC should be with each girl if he wants Rins reletionship is just nothing special it just exists Sakura one is just cringe also fact that they literally killed other characters just to focus on Sakura makes me angry
@@mightymoon6791 arturia and shirou are probably my fave ship. One thing I will correct u on is that they aren't lovey dovey. They can be depending on situation. But it's def not a "typical" romance
I can't believe some people skip this route when it's just as important and I'd say more melancholic then the rest. At least we got last episode to wrap up things.
It's the best route because of epilogue. I like UBW and HF enough, but cause of epilogue the Fate route becomes the GOAT. It just is so good. The actual "fated" ending.
Its 2022. I read this in 2010. I never got over it. Saber still holds something inside me, This music inspires me to greater works and hurts me at the same time.
I had known the definition, but I didn’t really understand the meaning behind the phrase “gut-wrenching” until I read this route to this scene and felt physical pain inside myself. I knew how it was going to end from the moment I started reading, but actually getting to it, it took everything I had not to break. Later that night I came to this video and cried for real. Masterpiece.
*- Shirou. That kiss was...* - It's not a mistake. I'll say as many times as I need to. Saber, I love you and I can't just let you go. Tell me if you dont like it. Tell me that we're only Master and Servant and contradict me. *- ...How unfair. Are you telling me to say such a thing?* - Yeah. I won't hold back if you don't tell me directly *- **______*
Such a beautiful and romantic scene. I remember my eyes being watery when I played this scene for the first time. -Imagine if it was animated... Please ufotable, remake the Fate route-
Despite three routes, Saber is considered to be the lead heroine of Fate. It's probably because she appears as lead in almost every adaptation Fate Zero, Fate Grand Order, Fate: Lord Ell-Melloi's case files, Fate :Carnival, Fate:Food night, Fate: Strange and also because Saber figurines and merchandise sell the most compared to other characters. ☺️☺️👍👍✌️✌️
I just want to see them meet again.. I just need to see it be like animated.. the entire thing doesn’t even need to be remade. I just need to see that ending where they meet in avalon.
Me to brother...me to...my heart will awake remained empty...if they managed to make that Avalon ending...then...I be smiling back again to see both of them finally reunite...
@@madaharsaal-maisan3693 not all people 😥,I saw many people hate Fate route and Saber cuz they watch Zero first and don't read the VN,it's really make me sad 😥
@@jarnahmaxux7187 fr,they just see Saber as "baDass wOmaN" in Zero, they don't know Saber truth feeling, they're just thinking about action or epic moments in Zero, fak Zero, Zero butchering SN Character so bad and they think gray morally = edgy,like..wtf?
well its not all bad, as the manga of tsukihime contains the true ending that continues on with tsukihime 2 and satsujinki, and the realta nua of FSN includes LE
MrInuhanyou123 That's kind of the problem, they can't die and they can't even go through the cycle of reincarnation. I love them meeting in Avalon and all, but wouldn't it also be nice to simply see them get the reborn in a future world type ending other series have done.
Randy Alter Reviews _but then it comes the Last Episode._ Despite the fact that I finished this VN not a long ago, I can tell that I will remember of it for the rest of my life. Also LOVE YOUR CHANNEL
Now it's 2019, I am still here to listen to this never ending sorrow, You might have become someone else in Heaven's Feel Lost Butterfly... But I won't forget the good memories...
@@chividx1859 no idea....i honestly am flumped on how they would do it...especially because nasu said he wanted to redo it since he's learned a lot since he first wrote it
Finished my second read through of the Fate route yesterday. This music is really appropriate for the ending. I know i am part of the minority but the Fate route is my favorite. The ending is a big part of it why i like it so much. R.I.P Saber until the LE🙂
@@aryanshankar17 Dude, do I have to remind you that ufotable remade UBW despite DEEN had already adapted it as a movie? -It wasn't good though- And respect my ass... They didn't even brought up 2006's Fate/stay night lately. It was hardly acknowledged by them throughout these past few years. The Fate route NEEDS a remake. Not just that, around a week ago, the Japanese voice actors of Ritsuka (FGO protagonist) and Saber herself said that they want to see the Fate route animated with the latest technology.
@@aryanshankar17 Look, proper adaptation or not, they still adapted it. And ufotable remade it. Sorry but I still don't see that 'respect' that they're saying. Fate route NEEDS to be remade. Especially since it hasn't even fully animated Last Episode. That's the happy ending for Shirou and Saber which hasn't even been fully animated yet. Also, Nasu himself wouldn't mind it being remade either.
one of the most beautiful yet saddest songs I’ve ever listened to, I am definitely not going to forget such lovely characters. other than that, I honestly cannot find words to describe how I feel when listening to this. f/sn truly is a masterpiece.
Im super late but I wanna still say this: I Genuinely want a F/SN Remake. I love UBW and HF up until part 2 and its all hype and action. (AND SADNESS TOWARDS SAKURA) But as wierd as this is to me, the FSN's Ending is what hit me. Its sad that they have to part ways eventually since Saber is a Servant and Shirou isnt.
@@anantc88 he doesn’t become archer. He lives a life similar to archer but without the regrets and self loathe that archer had because unlike archer he had a goal to reach which is reaching Avalon to be with Arturia.
This is one of those moments where you just... Feel empty like I... I wanna rest for awhile, I'll continue this for later That feeling that you wanna reflect
This is so, sad and wondrously happy at the same time. Its a bittersweet feeling with sadness and happiness. Its like when a good friend is moving away, you can't help but feel sad; but your also happy because there going away to a better place and starting a new life!
It's been years since I played all the routes in fate. The OST still gives me chills in my spine and emotions neither I can express nor explain. This VN will forever be stamped in my heart.
The soundtrack, the voice acting, everything leading up to that moment crafted ever so beautifully. Absolute perfection man, I always come back to this video trying to hold back the tears but it’s impossible. they’re the sword and the sheath that both overcome their pasts and have the best parallels imo
God, I love Saber so much. Watched UBW, thought it was great. Watched Fate 2006, I was fucked up for a whole week obsessed with Saber because of the bitter ending. Now I'm on to Heaven's Feel, but I don't think anything could match up to the place where my love for Saber resides.
"I promise I'll be your superhero" "No, Senpai....I'll probably end up hurting you" Her words sound like a confession. The rain is stopping. The night is cold as midwinter, and Sakura doesn't try to free herself from my arms... "I'm going to hurt you Senpai, but..." -------I want to stay like this...------- And with that, the choice is made...something decisive has ended.

I do love UBW and HF with all my heart. But the Fate route touched my soul. It's hard to put into words but, the way Saber appears and disappears so quickly, leaving such an impression in a time all too short; The way she's gone once the morning light takes over the sky, as if it was all a fleeting, yet beautiful dream. The bittersweet taste of it is something I'm a real sucker for. That line drawn between one stage of left and the next, a person that was there, and now isn't. It means all too much to me.
Fate/Stay night is sooooo sad. i finished this game like 2 years ago but even now i have this sad feeling inside of me. butterfly's in stomach. shit. Well maybe 2nd route is not sad but first and 3rd. Ahh
my favorite characters Arturia and Mordred from the entire Fate franchise, and not only because they are handsome and beautiful not to mention OP and Badass, but because of how they grow in many areas that represent humanity (from their maximum vulnerability and how they can reaching bottom in an extremist way until how they manage to get out of it) and as very well written characters.
Though for someone not aware of VNs, it's usually safer to say it's more along the lines of a media-rich equivalent of "choose-your-own-adventures" ebook. You don't want someone going into it expecting traditional "gameplay" in the form of an RPG, point-and-click adventure, etc; a visual novel like Fate/stay night should very much be viewed in the sense of reading a book (or I suppose a manga would be more similar) rather than playing a game, because 99.99% of what you'll be doing is reading.
