Been waiting for this review!! I’ve bought many gaming headsets the last few years based on your reviews & your channel is the only source I trust. Keep up the good work Techne! 😁
Definitely can't wait to get these. Always like your takes but everyone else are raving about these and the 3d audio on them from the ps5. But sony headphones are different with tempest 3d audio it's definitely not a gimmick. I notice the difference in pulse 3d vs steelseries.
Not sure if you take headset review suggestions, but the Asus Rog Delta S has always intrigued me. Am holding off on choosing a wireless headset until a good synopsis of that headset has been made on the internet. (I don't trust a lot of its current reviews, but you are what I'd consider as a good reputable source) Keep up the great videos btw, so glad I recently found your channel. :)
Never planned on buying into this line, but was also curious and I'm seeing a very split opinion. Some are swooning on Sony's first gaming audio outting, but other's are very meh on it. I do like that the upper models have Bluetooth but I definitely have better headphones for that. For the moment, this is more solidifying my current mains that are my Audeze Penrose X and the VZR Model One.
@@TheTechne You wanna believe those will turn up the "premium" factor, but we'll see how they compete with other cans, at their price point. I know that range is incredibly packed with some killer options, meanwhile I'm living in the $300+ pool of headsets, asking why I did this to myself...now I'm sophisticated or something.
I know you always are honest but thank you for being so strait up about this. I was eyeballing them for a 2nd / backup headset but not now. Thank you! 🍻💚
Thanks for another great video. I’m really surprised the Sony Inzone Hub custom settings saved and carried over to PS5. I’m more a wireless headset user and looking forward to your Sony Inzone H7 review. Bit of a spoiler though, I’ve read lots of comments online stating with the wireless ones, custom settings from the software doesn’t save to the headset and cannot be carried over to the PS5. I was really looking forward trying the H7, but it’s obvious Sony developed these headsets prioritising PC. I know PlayStation is a separate department and brand of Sony, but you would think that being Sony, it would develop these headsets to be fully compatible with the PS5. I’ll wait for your review tomorrow and then decide if it’s worth buying the H7
I have the H9. In my experience the EQ settings are bugged in the software and don't make any difference. That was a few days ago so maybe they fixed it. But all other settings like sidetone volume and ambient mode volume settings save to the headset. So I assume the EQ settings will too.
Sony's intent was to give you the freedom with PC and let the PS5 do its thing. The PS5 already has tweaked and customized sound with Tempest and all of that should basically be auto-tuned when they're connected, for the optimal sound.
I have the H9 and Gen 4 Astro a50s and the PlayStation headset is at least on console, is just as good or better than the Astros. Plus the ease of use and compatibility with the PS5 in my opinion makes it better than the Astros. Also, maybe it's in my head but I feel like I hear even smaller details when playing shooter games like call of duty.
Great Video! That's Seriously dissapointing though that they want $299.99 for this Headset when it sounds like the Turtle Beach Stealth 700 offers all those features with a better Built Quality for half that or less and has been out for a few years. Sony shouldn't be charging more then $149.99 for this Headset, period.
Can you mute from the controller button though on these new ones? Or do you still have to tap the button on headset? The pulse ones you couldn’t mute directly from the mute button on the controller which was horrible
Bought these for work primarily, because I'm a front-end developer and I basically listen to rock music while I code all day. Regular earbuds and on-ear headphones irritate my ears after a while, so I wanted something a lot more comfortable that I can wear for 8 hours. For my use case, how do you think these would fare? o;
I ordered the H9 and was really let down. I ended up returning them, I think he best wireless headset this year is the HyperX Alpha Wireless, At least for me. It's not perfect, but It has great battery life and it's really comfortable. Comfort is different for everyone though. In terms of best wired headset, The VZR is my favorite hands down, The build quality and sound are both amazing.
@@spy2fun I personally love them, but they're not perfect. They sound great overall. They probably have a bit more bass than the Logitech, But my issue with them is the connectivity on PS5. They would randomly disconnect every few hours. I didn't have that issue on PC though, So it could probably be fixed with a firmware update.
@7:15 I had the exact same issue and ended up returning this just yesterday. I was planning on pairing the usb sound card dac thing with my headphone amp (schiit magni heresy) via 3.5mm to RCA adapter and even plugged into my amp, the sound was still WAY TOO LOW on my PS5. As technie said, it works fine on PC, but I bought this with the intention of using it with my PS5
@@itsxxzs3-5 lol. So far for me it's good. Quality build is good. It's comfortable and the sound is good and soft for your ear. I recommend it if you going to use the 3.5 with the controller and you got a nice price for it.
I tested this one today, it's not as bad at all as what you're claiming, just my opinion. But I sometimes cracked, I don't know why, that could be due to my old laptop, which is no longer 100% unfortunately and has problems with all kinds of things, so I don't eat or it's the Sony It's either the laptop, but I suspect the 2nd. I spent several hours playing with it today and I was certainly not dissatisfied, the sound can be adjusted according to your wishes and in the games themselves you can also adjust something which is certainly not bad, skype with the comrade was also very well, confirmed by my comrade, who always heard me very well. The wearing comfort is also great, it fits well around the ears and I can play for hours without pain in the ears, they are also light headphones. I think it's quite a decent headset for gaming, but I'm going to return these anyway and I'm going to order the Sony H7, the wireless one and then I'll notice the difference or not between the H3 and the H7 myself, I'm curious if the difference so big then.
Hey techne i just recently got an apex pro tkl and i was curious if it was just my board, the oled screen is kind of has a yellowish tint and not too bright i see some boards like mine but some white is this a defect or something normal
Since you're head over heels on your Audeze Penrose for its planar magnetic, can you compare it with Edifier Stax Spirit S3? Yeah S3 is a headphone, not a headset but a boom mic should be able to solve that. But I'm curious with the sound performance. With that said, I don't know why Penrose on Amazon is $299 while S3 is $399, but in Malaysia, Penrose is MYR1600 ($359) and S3 is MYR1300 ($292). 🤔
Typical corporate greed in action once again charging a premium for base tier model imo. USB audio I feel lets a lot, not all, headsets down compared to 3.5mm …. I’ve found much better sound on wireless 2.4ghz over usb headsets for gaming. Thanks again for a great video Techne.
I feel the same with H9 on ps5 the volume seems really low. Also I don’t think the presets save to the usb when you switch it to ps5 I couldn’t tell any difference with my custom EQ
Enjoying the H3’s plugged into my PC and PS4-got them today for $99 down from $149 during the Black Friday sales at JB Hi-Fi. I’ll play games with my Alienware M15 with the Inzone H3’s on. With my HP 14s laptop, I like to use the Inzone H3’ without the USB dongle.
Omfg I was literally about to buy the 3d pulse I've been trying to decide all day if wether I should but the a10 or the pulse I finally decided and I now I discover this
Honestly sony isnt a good headset for gaming. I have expensive sony headsets I just didnt like it for gaming. I find myself that sony is only nmgood for studio recording or watching movies.
